An awesome fresh take on a good ol’ standard. Your playing is exactly in the sweet spot between the modern/slick sound and the tradition. Truly inspiring man.
Amazing track and I love the Amish dude's drumming. Noah hits it out of the park with this one. 5:11 beautiful piano lick.. Bass player is no slouch either.
Man!! Refreshing! it's ALL or most of its in there! If you ripped this apart, voicings, sensibilities, in and Out of key centers! This cat is the absolute end!
Noah Kellman We are all trying to do the right thing to keep the numbers down. Everything slowly coming to a halt except vital shopping and medical issues. All schools, shops, pubs, restaurants and public places closed. Thanks for asking and thanks again for your music. Stay safe. Matthew
Great arrangement. So laid back. Also what kind of piano is your upright, the keyboard seems so deep and set back from the strings/hammers. Sounds so warm.
Sounds like mostly stylistically modern quartal and cluster voicings. There are also quite a few variations on drop voicings (more typical of a trad jazz style). Harmonically he uses a lot of chromatic superimposition, such as playing the chord of the same quality a semitone above, resolving back down to the original chord. In this vein there is also plenty of reharmonization of the underlying chord structure, such as altering chords to the diminished/octatonic. I suppose what I'm trying to say is that he uses a satisfying variety of many different types of chord voicings.
This sounds really wonderful! Also, how do you have 135k subs, it's as if every jazz fan in the world opened a 2nd email account just to subscribe to your channel 😄and who could blame them.
OMG this sounds sooooo gooooood. Not only the playing is fantastic but the tone of the instruments and how clean everything sounds!
So sorry I missed this comment, thank you so much!

2:25 I LOVE how you play that melody in the left hand with chords in the right that's such a neat technique, sounds awesome!
I love the trades with Corey on drums. Great playing off of each other!
I loved the interaction between the piano solo and drums from 3:03-3:16.

Wonderful playing, amazing ideas. I liked when you swapped hand roles. What sort of voicings are you using predominantly? They sound so rich...

Beautiful! Would love to buy a transcription of your solo! Any chance?
Wow
Nice! Best part is when you switch and play the chords in right and improv in the bass register
Nice, bro! ✌🏼🎹
Thanks for watching, Gabo!

Terrific jamming all round. But isn't Stompin' such a great tune? I think it's my favourite from the swing era.
