Was the pianist quoting Misterioso in his solo? Terrific stuff from the whole group!
Wow, amazing performance and great interaction
Thanks :) appreciate you listening!
It'd be cool if you did a video breakdown of your piano solo on this, specifically some of the reharms and subs!
Up with this comment!
Yes! Would love that!
Right? Suuuch a killin solo.... and the rest of the playing too ofc. Everyone killed it on this!!
This is awesome, Noah - I love your lessons, but didn’t even realize you had a trio. Keep it up
Thanks Jordan!! Sorry I missed this way back when
Amazing feel from the drummer!
Thanks, yeah Corey is incredible!
really love your in/out with such a swingin' concept underneath. great group
Thanks, David!
Daamn been learning from these two jazz theory and practice and now yt shows me they play together! I consider it to be a good day
Love the choked ride (!) cymbal at 5:08 picking up on the piano rhythm. It's so great to see each generation's top players express their takes on 2020 jazz ethics with classics from the Bebop Bible (Book of Bird). World class, guys!
3:39 crazy chords
Omg best performance ever. I can really feel the vibes. In the middle part seems almost that you guys detach from the original progression and do what you feel on the spot. And the way you manage to come back to the head of the tune together in sync is simply great. I'm going to include this performance in my UA-cam playlist.
Man sorry I missed this comment before, thank you !!
Beautiful rendition of this song, particularly loved the pianists performance, great harmonies and solos, my jazz combo group is thinking of playing this for state S&E and this really makes me want to play it
Thanks Jack appreciate the kind words!
Did not expect to see Corey Fonville here dude...great stuff
And action!
You guys are going to be a big deal. Glad I found you on UA-cam. This is great!
Thanks, Jim! 🙏
it was perfect, everything down to the last minute details
Excellent solo Noah
Wow!! Grea musicians all of you!
Try to keep doing that Kind of videos! I follow Noah lessons!
Great pianist.
Fantastici,il jazz che adoro suonato mirabilmente
Wow 😮 you guys are stunning
That was DAMN FIRE!!!
Thanks Henrique! 🙏
Wow, understanding neighbors you have!
Lol!!
Great performance from all you people. Loved it
Sounds great!
so good
Thanks, Quinn 🙏
Killin'! Tamir's tone is ridiculous!
Wow I really did this collaboration. I hope you will keep this up, we need to hear more!
I met Chad in a seminar/concert that he offered in Chihuahua, MX a couple years ago. You sound so rad together, I'd love to listen more of this ensemble in the future
Great guys youve got it happening👌🏽
Hi Noah! I’m in my first ever, amateur jazz band. Well, I’m a sub but really happy to be one! This is on our list of tunes. I’m on the keys, so watching comp and solo is quite inspiring. I’ll definitely have to pace myself but I got a thing or 2 off what you’re doing, good sir!!
Hey so glad to hear that and appreciate the kind words. Let me know if you have any questions!
Killer solos - epic guys
wow, this is my first time hearing you and you're amazing. great chemistry with the whole band too. i'd love to see this group live
Thank you so much!
How did i miss that? Nice stuff Noah!
You're all SOOO good I love it
Fantastic stuff Noah! Can hear some Russell Ferrante influences too 👌👌👌
Love the zebra (and synergy of the group of course)
hahaha thanks man!
Did you quote something at the end of your solo? It sounds really familiar. Either that or it's just a really cool melody
Hm not on purpose I don't think but it's always possible. Thanks Mason!
It sounds like you were quoting Super Mario
@@NoahKellman Sounded like Jean Pierre to me
I think there was a short quote of the first phrase of Donna Lee and I love it ngl
Very good 👌🤓😌
Thanks, Dávid!
You are amazing man
very good ! stunning!
Absolutely amazing performance! Cheers!
Nice. Piano is buried in the mix though.
Thanks Samy! Appreciate the feedback. Going to work on bringing out the piano a bit before releasing it anywhere else.
I don't think it is.. the mix is insane!
WOW! Piano Player Monk's mood like is soooo nice...
Stunning!
You guys are amazing!!
Hey Roel, thanks appreciate that!
heck yeah, your solo in this is fire Noah. I love the kind of substitutions you use at 4:00, I'll have to try and figure out what you are doing there.
Awesome!!
Great sound.
Whoa. Your solo… whoa.
Wow! Great work guys! Bravo!
Thanks, Tomás!
loved your solo man! just wish your piano was louder in the mix.
Thanks appreciate it! Yeah the mix on this one was a little tricky since it was loud and we're all in the same room.
@@NoahKellman True...but great playing all round.
@@song4night Thanks!!
I'll second that. Lovely voicings and ideas. Just needs to be a bit louder.
Bird lives....great stuff !
Nice audio here. Really nice. I’d bring the bass out front a little more though
good vibes ! I wanna be confined with you ^^
Thanks :) appreciate that!
Amazing man! I have a question (hopefully someone can help me!): Ive heard people on jam sessions play this head with very similar accents and always thought it was from an old recording. Cant seem to find an old recording close to what Ive heard live except for this one... but the timeline would not line up, obviously haha. Am I imagining shit? hahah Let me know! xD
What’s the peach cello’s name, the instrument
What cymbals the drummer playing on?
Badasses! This is sick, there are some bad cats over here
The piano is saying something special…..
what was that? I thought I heard the Miles davis Quartet (but without miles). Terrific you guys.
Nice 👍🏻 ❤
great performance! : ) also, what mics are on the piano?
Thanks, Antonio. They're MikTek CV5s. Ever heard of them?
@@NoahKellman Actually, i haven't heard of them. But they look and sound good! Thanks!
EPIC!
A fine saxophonist
this made me buy his pdf
Perfect sound mixing for a regular apartment..
solid
Corey 🔥🔥
XLNT!!!!
Burning!
Nice solo dude. You sound a bit like Herbie on Speak Like a Child
damn
Thanks, Jake!
Chad with the little ornithology quote at 0:21
No one can play this song as fast as charlie parker played it.
5:38 This saxophonist is a true Chad
🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏👍

Great playing!
Also the bass player looks ZONKED 😂
i think chad quoted himself at the end of his solo, he played a lick that he did in his recording of oleo lol
hahah I think you may be right! is it stealing if you steal it from yourself ?? :p
I’m not 100% sure but I think it’s a line from sonny rollins on maybe eternal triangle?
I knew I heard this quote somewhere haha
A semi god is born.
Aside from the amazing performance, way to use the mirror to keep the drummer in frame with everyone else lol
Piano is a premature...wanna be a jazz artist
Dudes mouthpiece looks like pvc pipe 😆
LOL the slightly detuned piano
Nicely played tune but annoying unwatchable schizophrenic editing. Just set up the camera as in the thumbnail or at 0:40 to capture the whole group let it run and then post as is. Leave the editing alone. Editing is for fake news.
Stay mad the editing was good
imo it was great camerawork and it added a lot to the video, in my experience having one frame for the entire video can be kinda boring
@@simonaks9774 The camerawork was fine. It's the editing I was referring to. I'd rather just watch the whole band from one point of view, as if I was there in person, not look at a series of flashing images. That way you can focus on the music and the interaction between the band, and forget that you are even watching a video at all.
@@simonaks9774 Seems like they re-editted it. It's so much better now. Much less stroboscopic.
@@simonaks9774agreed, yeah it's a lot smoother and easy to watch. Before there were all these sudden jump cuts. I guess they were trying to make it look 'sharp' but I found it distracting. Yeah I watched it a few more times now, it's good. So, hey, maybe they took customer feedback on board!
