Hi Hudson. I watched your video 5 months back about making 1k/month on Medium. Can i ask how long it took you to reach that amount of earning? And am i correct that you did it with 2 (high quality) articles a week? Many thanks! ☺️
Yes! That's correct. I was writing 2 articles per week back then. In terms of how long, it took 2 years to reach my first $1,000 month. 🙂💰@@cassieellsworth1203
I've been your friend for a while on Medium, and I see the level of quality that comes with your writing. I haven't yet gotten the best results in my earnings. But I can see a massive difference in engagements from following your advice, my bro!. Thank you so much for sharing this honest and relatable advices.
Hey Hudson, you never disappoint with information you share. I incorporate your suggestions to my page. Now my medium page is gaining revenue. Thank you again watching your videos really motivated me to take a chance with Medium.
the other video I watched by another creator, I felt like if I would execute his strategy I'd contribute to fluff on the platform. I feel empowered to be my authentic self with your advice and make the artistic and unique contribution I wish to make while also generating income.
This is an outstanding video. You put a lot of time and effort into it. I found myself rewinding several times just to make sure I got your information accurately. You are a high-quality presenter, unselfish and thorough. I am looking forward to all of your other videos. I know they will definitely help my progress on Medium. Thanks so much. I hope you make a $1,000,000 from your writing. #MuchRespect
I just found your videos last night. Wow! Your videos are Divine Intervention. Thank you. Can you please make a beginner step-by-step type of tutorial on how to get started on Medium?
On average, my articles have a ~30-60% read ratio. I need to mix in some shorter posts so that my readers aren't overwhelmed by 7-10 minute reads every time I publish. lol😅 Thanks for sharing your ideas! I'm thinking about how to implement the titles and formatting tricks you mentioned going forward. =]
Nice! Or, you can try really nailing down your headline ➡ intro ➡ first paragraph combo. If you write shorter articles you'll earn less money (or need more views to make up for the lower read time). So, that can be a way to bridge the gap to a higher read time while writing longer articles. But, at the end of the day, it's all about what works for you. And, most importantly, what you enjoy writing! 🙂🙌
Did I see right you made almost 10K in one month? Congrats! You put in a lot of work. I recently started on Medium but I made 130 dollars in my first month, so I am very happy with my result. Going to work even harder this month! Thank you for the tips :)
No, haha, unfortunately not. I think my biggest month was around $2,000. But, that's great! I made $1.30 my first month, so you're off to an awesome start. 🙂👏
Hey Hudson, i saw you say in a reply to a comment on here that in order to monetize on medium you have to be a paying member, please explain more about it
Sure! So, the requirements to apply to the Medium Partner Program and start earning money from it are: - Having 1 story written in the past 6 months - Being a paying Medium member ($5 per month) There's also a list of eligible countries, which you can find here: help.medium.com/hc/en-us/articles/115011694187-Partner-Program-Guide I hope that helps! 🙂🙌
Hey thanks for this! I’ve been posting everyday on medium for the last 14 days. I’m committed. I was hoping you would mention how to start getting paid. I’m on the free version. Do they start paying at the member ($5) or friend ($15) level? Or is it like quora Anne you have to be invited?
You can join the Partner Program on either paid tier. To apply, you just need to have written one article. Here's a breakdown of how to apply: ua-cam.com/video/53x1J3Ol0cQ/v-deo.htmlsi=kfdhy0LHfyQgf2Rr 🙌
Thanks! If you're not eligible to join the Partner Program, you can still write and earn money through donations/affiliate links. Hopefully, they do open up eligibility to your country soon. 🤞💫
Thanks Hudson. I was wondering what you think the percentage of writers who make above 100 USD is. Medium no longer shares such data but I would like to hear your thoughts. :)
Yeah, it's a great question. I would also like a breakdown, haha. I know in the past, it was less than 10%. 🥲 In my opinion, I think more writers are earning between $100 - $1,000 than in the past. But, less writers are consistently earning more than $1,000. Just based on what I've seen/heard from other writers. 🙂✍
Why do people say it's near impossible to actually make any money on Medium with the Partner program. How many followers should one have before attempting to monetize on there?
Medium can be tough when you're first starting out. Especially if you're not familiar with what headlines, topics, or formatting styles work best. As for when to monetize, my advice would be right away! You only need to have written one article to monetize your account -- and then you can get paid for your writing. 🙂🙌
So, if you can't join the Medium Partner Program but still want to earn money on Medium, my best advice is to either promote affiliates links or start building your email list, which you can monetize once your following grows. Or, you can always try signing up for Newsbreak, which pays similarly to Medium. I hope that helps! 🙂🙌
@@hudsonrenniewritesHi Hudson. If i may seek your clarification; - Do you mean Newsbreak pays as much as Medium does? - Do you post the same contents on both platforms? Thanks in advance 😊
So, in my experience, Newsbreak is a quicker way to make money -- but, the success of articles is short-lived. On Medium, your library of content earns you money each month. Personally, my earnings are about the same on both. But, I don't repost, as I write about different niches on each platform, but you totally can! Both platforms allow you to re-post, so it's a smart way to double up on your earnings. 🙂🙌 @@cassieellsworth1203
Your idea of having a community five to twenty consistent readers follows your concept of rinse and repeat. Having 2 thousand followers is being thin over a larger area. Having twenty followers is going deep and easier to write for.
I watched another video featuring Medium experts and they said fake engagement will be detected by the algorithm so you're wasting your time with that. It doesn't past the smell test either. Can't you just write great stuff? Surely if you write interesting posts you won't need to fix it
So, examples of fake engagement would be creating burner accounts or mass engagement groups to engage with your stories. Showing genuine in other writers' stories in hopes they reciprocate is totally acceptable. And, is one of the best ways to gain traction as a beginner. If your writing can stand on its own and you don't need to engage with any other profiles, that's great. Keep writing and keep growing. 💪
