The design of the Manta Ray (1:29) was obviously inspired by two GM concept cars from 1951 -- the LeSabre for the front and the Buick XP-300 for the rear. The taillights are from the 1952-1954 Lincoln parts bin. The thing must have a huge turning radius with those fully skirted front wheels. The only thing that makes the Buick Centurion (4:54) look "weird" is the distortion caused by the ultra-wide-angle lens. The car just looks like a typical Detroit concept car of the 1950s.
scotpens If only they opted for some more ageless colors than that salmon pink. But that was what it was at the time. Not even kitchens and bathrooms were safe from that treatment. But hey, beats the shit out of the avacado color you couldnt get away from in the '70's.
@@abcdef-cf2uk я до сих пор обожаю оливковый цвет салонной обивки. Также Centurion считаю великолепным концептом даже несмотря на мелкие особенности остекления. Эта машина по-своему прекрасна.
The Peel Trident made several worst cars of all time lists.. I'm amazed Mazda put their name on the suitcase car, obviously marketed to third world countries. The Dodge Deora looks cool, but has some obvious design flaws, like the dash on the armrest should go...
The Deora's front-opening entrance would never meet today's safety regulations. But then, the Deora was a show vehicle, a styling exercise based on Dodge's stubby, van-based A100 pickup. It wasn't meant to be practical for production. The lift-up windshield is actually the upper tailgate from a 1960 Ford station wagon. The chrome trim pieces on the side exhaust ports are 1965 Mustang taillight bezels. The Deora still looks beautiful today, with its crisp, clean lines.
I onced owned a 1987 Cadillac. The outward appearance was okay, but deep inside, every aspect of the car showed it to be the product of diseased minds from the designers to builders. I've owned 45 cars, many brand new, but this Cadillac was a particular piece of foulness.
Helicron; a sure way to get pedestrians out of the way.
The Buick is art. It would look natural parked at the saucer home in Colorado designed by Charles Deaton.
I tell you what; if we all drove cars like the first one, there'd be no more jaywalkers!
racketman2u, Too true.
just need wings and it can fly
racketman2u It's a terrorist choice
That orange buick centurian is beautiful and futuristic

I wish the centurion actually was a production car, it will put some modern car's "safety features" to shame
THE GREATEST COLLECTION I HAVE EVER SEEN
I called these rare vehicles artistic and enginuity. Simply put these vehicles are cool and awesome. 😀🏆
I like the Dodge Deora, but it does not have much of a crumple zone!
nice but plenty of people have heard of the amphicar...........Rick almost bought one on PAWN STARS if I am recalling correctly.
I like the Buick Centurion.
make the first car a mod in gta
Does anyone know what car was the one parked next to the Manta Ray (the white coupé)?
Suitcase car was only one I had not seen before.
I remermber the days when designers went bananas in the US car industry...
Can’t skip ads which are longer than the video, rethink maybe warranted
Damn, I thought Austin Powers had a new movie out!
3:12 I LIKE HIS REAR CAMERA ,some one came out of the closet on the passenger
Beautiful Buick Centurion... I just wonder what solar protection factor one needs to ride in one of those .... :)
I think i remember seeing the suitcase car in ripplys believe or not or in a book.
I remember the ad's for the first car. It said it slices and it dices but it just never appealed to the public.
outrageous styling? check, crazy colors? check, safety? err what
The problem with the first car is that if you hit a pedestrian you Will chop them to pieces!!.
Jerry Dominguez That's right,
no more jaywalkerd😂
Never saw 007 get in a suitcase car and go after the bad guys.
Also,
That Dodge Deora,
If im not mistaken, was a Big Daddy Ed Roth creation.
the Deora was designed by Harry Bentley Bradley and built by the late Alexander bros out of Detroit . .
I like how the airplane car had no protective guards what so ever around the ginormous propeller.
The helicon would be a party when you hit a bird
Volvo P1800 most beautiful
Poindexter said so, can't argue.
Amphi car was a disaster. Cool novelty. Functional...no! Between 3000 and 4000 were built I believe. Be nice to see another attempt at it though.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
thing has 3 lincoln tail lamps
Cars had distinction and character back then, made of steel, not Plastic and styrofoam.

SlammedSp33d 5.0 Yes, all he did was swap out couple from a video he did months ago.
Lazy.
While this is nice material I see that this channel is reusing the same material in multiple clips

Body not supported/reignforced adequately
