Option 3... Just the way we flew 'em.
I think the red devils a-10 would be the best choice just because of the cow.
I was about to say exactly this
came here to say the same! cow!
Have you thought about making a track for your seat to roll forward and backward in/out of the pit? You'd be able to have the single piece canopy archway and if you wanted to build a full windscreen or canopy you could just roll in and out of it! Option 1 for the repaint! Keep up the great work!
I have thought about that. The seat is currently on car seat electronic rails, so it moves back a little but not enough. I'm looking at larger linear actuators, but cost is an issue...
You're a real artist 👍
Option 2 - like the multi colours to let it blend all the stuff in the room.
This reminds me of the old saying; "There comes a point in every project where you have to shoot the engineer and commence production..."
Next video: Okay so i have installed a full jet glass and a small ladder on the side!
next video after that: okay, I have made a full real size replica
Eventually he is going to make a entire A-10 out of plywood as his sim pit
Option 1☝🏻moooooved🐮🐄 me the most..! 😂😂
2022 - full motion update (maybe).
Definitely option 1, that's my favourite from the three.
i am going to vote for option 3 for 3 reasons. #1 it's the same as your introduction video, #2 because it's clean and crisp, #3 because you can add cows as kill markers...
Excellent timeing I was literally about to log off UA-cam for the night because I need to be up early lol
I'd say stick with the gray paint
The Red River scheme looks amazing 👍🏻
I think option 1 is the best for sure. Maybe take the middle part and put it on the back of the seat.
Honestly, it could be neon pink and it is still cool as shit!
Damn this looks great. Just on the way you film this makes me feel like I am flying. Love you sim.
Looks awesome! I would go with Option 1, but I'm a bit partial being from Michigan and living near Selfridge ANGB. I would see the A-10s fly over my house all the time it was always fun to watch.
Option 1 for me also. I'm from Michigan too and have been watching the Hawgs in actin at the Grayling range from when they were the 127th TFS in Battle Creek. But I've always loved the Flying Tigers shark teeth too!
I'd go for option 3. (Unless you plan to fly only airshows missions in it. :) ) Gray will not distract from the inside of the pit and the screen.
Next update:
I built the A-10 Thunderbolt in my garage.
100 vids later welcome back guys today were up grading the engines and the vulcan magazine
I like #1 myself. Great work 👍👍
Option 1! Amazing as always
It's looking great, well done 👍
The canopy breaker tool does work...and if you ever needed it, you had the rest of your life to figure it out. When utilizing it, always keep the curved part of the blade toward you so if it skips it goes away and not toward you. As far as the exterior paint, you should go with option 4...a 111th FW/103rd FS jet!
Whichever you make will be perfect!!! My would be Option 3.
Great work! Option 1.
Always amazing job! I like option 1! I would also paint the rear panel like a rib which most military airplanes are just painted zinc chromate (greenish yellow)?
LOL I don't think you will ever be "done" but that's not a bad thing. Please keep up the good work! (Side note: I'm for Option 1, Option 2 is second pick)
Wasn't it da Vinci that said "Art is never finished, only abandoned"?
you could make it so you grab the canopy bow and slide it in on top so it slides down, as a whole piece
Option 2 definitely!
Have you thought about building swappable panels for the exterior so you can change the external color scheme to have some variety depending on what theater you are flying in? Perhaps velcro attached or magnetic if the base piece is steel. Then you could have all 4 options or even more! 👍
Looks great already! I like option 1 out of the three. Awesome build by the way!
Just out of interest, how have you handled the data networking with the computers ie. USB hubs or RJ485 etc.?? Have you done a video of that you can point me to? Is the interfacing through Arduinos or Pokeys, IT interface boards etc. Just wondering as my LJ45 needs an upgrade! Thanks for your inspiring videos.
Option 3: Flying Tigers together with the weathering would be my choice!
Option 2: I don't like the two colours of this option, One side will just look like shit - literally.
Option 1: I liked the more muted colours in the picture on the wall (as they seem to be - in that there appears to be other colours in the scheme) and looked better than the stark ones in your panel cut-out presentation for option 1.
Please do option 2! Its amazing with the 2 colors.
Hey do you remember me I have been here since almost the start and also GREAT WORK LOOKS SO COOL
Nice job! You could also make a windowframe out of one piece that has a hinge at the left side and something it glides into on the right side. That way the frame would be one piece and stronger and it would not be in the way when you get in and out "the damn thing ;-)"
Another good idea!
Agree with option 1.
I'm going with option 1 for three reasons:
1) You clearly like it best, so why not go with what you like?
2) Option 3 will look just as washed out as your current set up is, which you don't seem to like.
3) Option 2 is cool with the camo, but that big ass red triangle messes it up for me.
Concerning the entrance issue - how about mounting the seat on some form of rails. This way you could just pull the seat out of the rear and "slide" back into your cockpit.
number 1 paint
Nice work! First off, have you thought about just stepping over the side and onto the seat to get into the cockpit like I do or a real jet? Then you wouldn't have to worry about splitting the canopy frame and it would be strong enough to use as support when climbing in and out? As for paint, I like Option 3. You made a good point about breaking up the grey, but you could just use a darker outside grey to break up the colour. Excellent work as always!
Thanks mate! I can step over it, but bare in mind mine is plywood and MDF, not solid aluminium like some others around here... I can awkwardly climb over, but I'd be concerned doing it repeatedly as the plywood would eventually crack or split.
Yeah fair enough.
What you should start planning out now is to build a track system under the cockpit so you can feel the movement. It would be difficult to get it to go upside down obviously but if you could get it to lean with thejoystick it would make for a far more fun and realistic experience. If you could find one of those stupid kid rides that you find at Walmart where you pay a few quarters and then the hydraulics move around the car or horse or whatever it is. That or you could also look up how mechanical bulls work and find something like that. Finally you could also find one of those old motorcycle arcade games games where you sit on the bike and then lean to turn and just deconstruct it and use the base for the machine for your cockpit. That would be by far the simplest method but those are just some ideas. Yeah it could be expensive but you have spent of $4,000 on it already so no point in stopping now. Just go all out.
If you can you should try to build the canopy
I'm thinking option 3, but add the cow (or two)!
Number 1. I love the cow
option two for the paint
Gotta be the cow :)
Given that you have lots of space behind the seat, how about having the canopy open as one piece in the conventional way?......you know you want to 😁
i would go option 2 and would concider doing it a car wrap . i did it for my mig 15 it turned out pretty well
I've looked into digital printing a wrap, and it looks great but the cost quotes I got were huge!
Also- where are the videos of your MIG!!!
@@thewarthogproject havent put any vids up on utube , but we are both on the Australian Flight Sim. Builders Group and you can find pics of my mig there i even put some pics on one of your post . give us a yell if want more pics. love your pit bro
I think option 2 is the best.
Red river livery I'm partial to.
Why would anyone not like this video? I guess there is always some bozo in every crowd. 🤡 ...Either way I love your videos on your awesome cockpit! I think it would be much more immersive to see a canopy frame in place if it turns out to be possible. Keep up the great work! 👍
Suggestion: For your StreamDeck, what about mounting it in the same position as the HUD/CAM recorder panel on the upper left corner of the real plane. Pretty much same place as it sits right now, but up in front of you. Or would that take you away from the realism too much?
Cheers ralfi. I'm mounting the real DVADR panel up there, so space will be an issue. Plan is for that panel to take some of the streamdeck functionality, which might be pretty cool (if it works). I'd like it out of the way and not prominent, but still easily accessible. For now it's going to sit on top of the ARC-210... because I still don't need that....
@@thewarthogproject sounds good. Great job so far!
"I think I might make the full frame, and then have a split in the middle"
- TWP, 2021
Option 2 :)
Option 1.
Wouldn't be an issue with reflections off the panels, would there?
Option 1
Option 3
option 1 is good
option 1
Why not do the left hand side option 1 and the right hand side option 2 and put the picture of option 2 on the wall on the left side that way when you look at the picture you look down and you see the aircraft same when you are on the other side .
option 1 seems quite nice, but option 3 is the more "common"
Option 3 100%
option 3
I like option 2 the most because of the color.
I came from one of your videos where you used VR? You do not do that regularly with this setup, do you? Also, where is the canopy?!?!?! It is the only thing you are missing...
Have those back panels look like a cut away section with the internal framing outlines if that makes sense?
Makes sense. Cool idea. I'll have a play and see what I can come up with.
How do you align hud with hud physical frame?
RK, How did you reposition the onscreen radio comm dialogue in 3d warped view?
I couldn't work out how too. I turned it off completely, and use voice attack when I'm in single player. If I need it in multiplayer, which is rare, I just quickly go back to 2D mode.
Opt 1
cow down
2 weeks™
Option 3 cause you know, war is hell and it survirved and cause that pic its from Azores and i'm portuguese ehehe
Not that involved I think you are given the meticulous details that you have put in on the project which morphs as you go along. What the hell take a long piss in the damn thing you are entitled to given the effort and commitment you have put into the project. No one needs to know.
Option 1
Option 3 100%
Option 2
