Wellwell, POTF is another quite internationally famous Finnish band, and also one of my favorites. They are very versatale and their singer, Marko Saaresto (Marko again 😉), is a native English speaker (Brit mom). He's well admired for his warm voice and beautiful falsetto. They are also known for their artistic MV:s and excellent (mostly acoustic) live shows. Great pick, Sabina. Happy New Year from Finland! ⛄❄👍

Some other songs to hear: "Carnival of Rust", "Daze" (nice falsetto), "False Kings" and "You Know My Name" (great Chris Cornell James Bond-theme cover). Just few to start. A Happy New Year to You!

(It is nice to see familiar places on a music video, this was shot near to the very centre of Helsinki Finland. I live only a mile away, to the north. I could pinpoint my apartment on the video, on the part filmed from a drone.)

I have known these guys for quite some time, and they have a very huge back cataloque. Markos voice is superb, and if you dig more into their songs, you will find out, that he has a HUGE range.
My girlfriend and me took the trip from DK to Hamburg three years ago, and saw POTF live. They played this song also, and it was such a beautiful moment - just standing side by side, with arms around each other, dancing quietly, enjoying this song. This IS one of their best ballads - IMHO.

Sabina, this band is incredible. I've been listening to them since 2010, introduced to their music playing Alan Wake. From 'War' to their in-game Old Gods of Asgard band singing 'The Poet and the Muse' and 'Children of the Elder God', you're instantly hooked. I am seriously considering making a trip in May to see them perform in Manchester [I'm in New York]. Talk about a man-crush. Marko's voice is simply incredible. Their Alexander Theatre Sessions version of this song is immaculate. Also note how Captain, Olli, and the 3 J's make appearances in this video walking by Marko.

This performance kind of pulled me gently into a very special mood. Music, camera and the beautiful setting in Helsinki fit perfectly. One additional reason why Finland moved to a top-spot on my travel-list - once we can travel again safely. Thank you Sabina for - once again - an absolutely adequate reaction; and thanks Megan for this recommendation ! From Germany best wishes for a happy, healthy and successful New Year to you and Henri. Happily looking forward to what 2022 will bring for (and with) this kind community.

These Finns have a great habit of inflicting some great bands upon us…I’m not going to mention Nightwish…whoops.
I’ve heard of POTF but never really looked into their music. I don’t know if this particular song is typical of their musical style or if it’s a departure from their usual style. Either way, this is a great song with considerable panache. Effortless vocals producing a quality leading sound. I’m delighted that our European neighbours are producing some very listenable music as frankly the current rock & metal music here in England is not exactly inspiring. In fact, I’m asking Alexa to play European rock/symphonic metal regularly. Another great reaction video Sabina, and another band for me to look into and hopefully enjoy.

    • @BigFry9591

They've somewhat changed over time, and they don't always stick to one style. Their earlier stuff was way more rock oriented than alt-rock.

London Grammar with a song called Strong. Recorded in 2013. London Grammar are an Indie band who went on to win the prestigious Ivor Novello award in 2014 for that song. It’s seriously worth a listen.
