Actually, this is a masterpiece. His voice is not at all common nor easy to imitate. The lyrics are amazing, beautifully written and the song exceptionally performed. One of my favorite groups of all times.
This song is like Angel to me. "Kiss the feathers of a hummingbird in flight". We should try it. ❤

Phantom pain is a medical term meaning something like if your whole leg is amputated you still feel specific pain in your big toe although it doesn't even excist anymore.
Although, in the context of this song's lyrics, "phantom pain" can also be interpreted as if you still feel the presence of someone you've lost.
I'm so happy you reviewed this song. I love it. Been a fan of them since Max Payne 2. You should check out "My Dark Disquiet" or their cover of Chris Cornell's "You'll Know My Name".

It’s not the kind of music I usually listen to. That said it’s a nice song that has a place maybe to a movie tear jerker.
I've always said that POTF mostly seemed like movie closer music. Their more uplifting stuff is fantastic. Children of the Sun is one of the great ones for this.
This made me think of the amazing recording of SYML - "The War" [Live From St. Mark's]
Although that is does not have as much effect as this video does.
But just basic music, and the singer singing in a big room.
