Eh, it's weird. Europop is like vanilla icecream with sprinkles. It's nothing but sugar, and although it's good, we've developed to like things that aren't. Like bourbon and cigarettes. Both of those things are objectively disgusting, but we're so tired of -just- sweet we desire the nuance and complexity of bitter, sour, and other generally negative tastes.
The screens showing the scores at the local bowling alley had intermission animations commenting on your throw always looked like this. I don't think they ever changed it. Just replaced the CRTs with LCDs at some point.
Being British I grew up with all of this, along with makina, happy hardcore, garage, dubstep, UK house even gabber (the original Dutch hardcore aka thunderdome type music) so I genuinely love it Probably alien to Americans and other cultures but it's actually better than most music around now a day (imo)

I lived and grow up in the west, the US, and I somehow got to experience europop. I remember being maybe 9 or somewhere around that age when I heard of stuff live europop, then UA-cam was still in it's infancy, back when the like and dislike button was not a concept yet but instead the 5 star rating still was in it's place, the layout being different; no bots invading the algorithms, comment section, no ad revenue existed just yet and I got to see the memes at a young age, some caused me trauma, not going to lie, and a near schizophrenic view of the world due to the imagination being wild. my parents didn't even know I was on something like UA-cam then; the popularity had just started growing for the site. I seen a fu·ck ton of those Weegee memes, it was the most surreal shi·t one could see as a child, YTPs as well.

I lived and grow up in the west, the US, and I somehow got to experience europop.
I remember being maybe 9 or somewhere around that age when I heard of stuff live europop, then UA-cam was still in it's infancy, back when the like and dislike button was not a concept yet but instead the 5 star rating still was in it's place, the layout being different; no bots invading the algorithms, comment section, no ad revenue existed just yet and I got to see the memes at a young age, some caused me trauma, not going to lie, and a near schizophrenic view of the world due to the imagination being wild.
my parents didn't even know I was on something like UA-cam then; the popularity had just started growing for the site.
I seen a fu·ck ton of those Weegee memes, it was the most surreal shi·t one could see as a child, YTPs as well.
I come back to this video from time to time cus it’s a banger. Also fun fact-these songs or their nightcore versions played in a dubstep set go unfathomably hard.
