I have a signed copy of Bluenose Ghosts and Bluenose Magic by Dr. Helen Creighton. I knew her personally as did my mum. She graduated from the same school I did ...Halifax Ladies College and I met her at several Loyalist teas and other school functions. As a young girl I lived in a manse that had much supernatural activity in it in Dartmouth , NS. Love your channel and thank you for keeping Nova Scotia folklore alive.
I remember reading Bluenose Ghosts in the late 70’s when I was in Grade 6 or 7; the chapter on Demons was absolutely terrifying, yet I couldn’t put the book down and it lead to many sleepless nights.
So true. The Amherst Mystery has intrigued me since I was a boy. Be sure to take part in Esther Fest starting next week. Look for Esther Fest on facebook for more details.
The fire ball of pleasent bay, Cape Breton. Back in the 60's it cam from the north along the west side of the highland mountains, in a southward direction untill it reached the mouth of the harbour, and then shoot up in to the sky
Digby neck is not a village. As a resident of Freeport NS I can say that it is a peninsula with a good number of separate villages. The story of Gerome originated out of whale cove, on digby neck.
@@strangelycanadianI grew up near you in Springhill, I left and now live on the south shore. Gerome only came up in conversation a couple months ago and I’ve been here for a decade. Everyone says they learned about it in school at some point. Most of the people that I know that learned about him are from the municipality of Clare which is French.
love this. I live in Ontario but my dads family is from Nova Scotia and some still are there. Even had a family member die on Peggys Cove from drowning. I love ghost stories any stories really. makes it cooler when its your fathers hometown
I’m a Canadian living in US. I am from New Brunswick but lived in BC for a long time. I collect folklore and have lots of Canadian stuff I have to put out. Glad you made this channel!
Shag Harbour, a very interesting story, What if anything crashed at Shag Harbour, Were two object discovered on the sea bed at the Shelbourne "Oceanographic station (actually a submarine detection post) Why did a soviet sub appear in the area? Why did the USAF have aerial recon flights over the area? What were the two objects seen leaving the ocean at the western tip of Nova Scotia and heading north (to the USAF base in Maine, Russia or space? What about other reliable sources that saw unusual sites in the night sky over Nova Scotia?
Thanks. I knew about staying off the black rock at Peggy's Cove. Bad undertow. A sudden wave with no warning. Its an old province that has had time to collect folklore and bump in the night stuff.
I want to thank you for telling the mystery of small Canadian villages/towns/peninsulas, wondering if you plan to do the same history for black communities in Nova Scotia, i know there are some mysteries unknown . Dartmouth ,N>S.
Thanks for your comment. I would love to recount some mysteries from the Black community in Nova Scotia and across Canada. I will do some research and perhaps do a video in the future.
If you locate and read Cape Breton book of the Night, there is an interesting story of one of many paranormal stories, & this one is from Meat Cove 1938ish. A local gentleman in his Ford truck is on an outdoor trip to chop firewood & deer hunt. He encounters a sasquatch. The ending isn't what you expect.
Love folklore, hauntings and stories of Nova Scotia. Looking forward to more.
Growing up in Amherst, we have a ton of folklore here. Especially, Esther Cox.

Good work...nicely presented.

I was so happy to see the great Amherst mystery in this video. I'm from Springhill and outside of Cumberland County, no one really knows about it.

I will be at the paranormal convention on Oct 19 and on the downtown ghost walk on Oct 21

Back in the 14-1800s
Thanks. I knew about staying off the black rock at Peggy's Cove. Bad undertow. A sudden wave with no warning. Its an old province that has had time to collect folklore and bump in the night stuff.
There are lots of walls like those in the woods in NS. I came across several in Shelburne County.
thanks for commenting.
One should not forget to mention Mary Ellen Spook. I hope you have or will cover this fire spook of Caledonia Mills Antigonish County.
Like the range of explanations offered so listener can choose the ‘truth’. Us locals enjoy a good yarn.
Thanks for commenting

Statutory ape?
I remember reading that. His last name was Fraser. Fascinating story.
All the best
Check out the Mary Ellen Spook Farm in Antigonish, NS.
Have you read Bluenose Ghosts? It's a classic for NS ghost stories.
Well done
Sounds like Esther Cox was attacked by a possessed man and that dark entity attached itself to her. But then I don't know much about the case yet.
It is an interesting story.
You should check out the perdictions of Mother Coo
Interesting. I will.
You should do research on musquodoboit harbour NS
I live close to black hole harbour i can't wait to get a metal detector
