  • In today's video, Jack is going to provide some advice to skaters experiencing ankle injuries. This advice can also be followed for other various skate injuries.
    Step-by-step guide to injuries
1️⃣ Get Assessed! (By a local GP or physiotherapist): these professionals can help you understand exactly what is injured and if/when physiotherapy might be suitable
2️⃣ Physiotherapy early stage (if the ankle is suitable): regain movement and decrease pain/swelling
3️⃣ Physiotherapy mid-late stage: slowly begin to strengthen muscles around the injured ankle joint, improve balance, and strengthen joints above and below
4️⃣ Continued exercise and reduce risk of further injuries: carrying on strengthening exercises🏋️‍♂️ (2-3X a week) and staying generally active 🚴🏊‍♂️ outside of skating will help reduce the risk of further injuries.
    Featured Exercises...
    💥 Knee to wall (stretch)
💥 Ankle Eversions (toes outwards) + Inversions (toes inwards)
    💥 Heel raises
💥 Single leg balance (on floor or pillow)
💥 Weighted squats (double leg, progress to single leg)
