I’ve seen plates like that before. It’s to prevent twisting of the block, I know bmw used them. Apparently bell housing can twist or torque the block and that keeps the cylinders in alignment.
Was really good to meet a down to earth, humble, group of lads at Anglesey this week. We had a reyt good chat! Should you ever return, be sure of a meet up for a cup of Yorkshire’s finest and, hopefully, get that celebrity’s autograph. Ryan, Scott, Paul, hgv driver et al, thank you for a great and eventful meeting. Ron the Scrute
The tt dsg problem is likely an rear abs sensor issue. The dsg use the rear for speed references and gear selection. If the signal is not correct the dsg won't shift up on its own.
Love blyton park. Its definitely a friendly track! Absolutely everyone is willing to help even the organisers. In no way am I on your level it's just a fun day out. Only been there a few times once in a pals supercharged st150 fiesta and my dads 200bhp c20xe on itbs, and then in a genuine st german cup car. Love the fact your keeping with the times with the c.a.y ect, but I cant help but love the olschool pd lumps! I grew up on points carbs n checking the plugs for data and the smell from the exhaust pipe 😂 knocking 40 years so I cant help that. Absolutely mint vid. I never ever comment just watch and admire from my phone..... keep up the hard work spadge. Much love as a fellow Yorkshire man. Si thi!
It's really interesting to watch how the R&D progresses I like to see the process all the fails and success's and it's all good for tax right offs as it's part of the R&D development every time you take a trip to whereever it can be a R&D outing an all sent through your accountant as a cost right off, being paid for playing how good does life get eh Gr8 stuff guys
That plate is 11mm thick, as well the DMF happens to be 11mm thicker than a standard DMF due to it being able to withstand the low end torque of these motors. That was my deduction at least when I was doing my initial research on my CUA swap
That's not Paul....he's not wearing any weird beard growth that's the result of him living in the Darkside cave. You have an outstanding employee there.....well from what we see in the video 😂 at least. There's certainly an element of Ted and Ralph going on in this video.😁
Jeez i would love 200BHP in my Little Polo 5 door Red SEL90 with just 38,000 On the Clock [NOW Had for 2 years]. I used to Build Classic Mini engines/Gearboxes and raced once @ just 18 In Landow Wales, so having all the little Comforts of NO LEAKS, electric windows and just 90bhp is quite Fun @ my age [Bloody 50 Crept Up] But always more power/ Better Suspension/ better Brakes is a good thing RIGHT. IF i had the £££ I would be up your shop the next DAY. Crappy DPF/EGR on mine ARRRRRHHHH.
Just putting it out there but with your little mechanic wanting piece at the end, I ain't a mechanic but I'm rather handy with a spanner or 2 and i used to live in wath! 😉😅

You guys have been working with VW engines for ages. Obviously you find a lot of the common issues from factory do you think they have been getting worse the newer they get with reliability?
We didn't use the ECU or wiring from the Passat Bi-Turbo, we used the original ECU and wiring, which means there's no control for the Bi-TDI turbo (So we can't).
Paul has got to be the most versatile technician/mechanic…seems there’s nothing he can’t do. Great video as always guys.
you should see him removing a Ford KA inlet manifold
Getting up is a struggle but he doesn't get to bed early so we let him off.
Jesus that look like it sucked a lot hahahaha
@@DarksideDevelopments that's just because he's called Paul. Can't blame him for that.

Fantastic video again. You’ve got some great blokes working on those race cars. Great stuff to watch. 👍

Cheers Ronnie, come Oop north for a tour when you can!
love watching these videos you certainly know your stuff great engineering skills and some very skillful mechanics .

Liking the gearbox cooler /oiler idea adding extra oil volume will help aswell

I've been wondering when you'd do this! What an engine

How much are we looking at to have a road going version of this motor fitted to a Golf mk 7 GTD?
Likely 12k
That’s not too bad it’s going to make a well priced quick diesel, I was thinking around £12-£15k
Would be rapid!
I have audi a3 8p 2005, is it possible yo swap engine to CUAA!
It's possible, there's a lot of work in it. Not something we would do though unfortunately
Can you tell me what flywheel you use for CUAA engine to mount in mk6 manual gearbox !
Hello. Is okey if i refurbished my turbo on my touareg 3.0 can it last for a long time ?
Depending who does it!

Is this not engine said you were fitting to customer car which had an accident in shop?
Totally different
Is it true these engines come with ARP head studs from the factory. Or is it a myth
It's a myth, they are just grade 12.9 bolts that are very long!
What oil y'all running in these badass engines? I want to settle a debate between my brother and I 🤣
We use rock oil carbon 10w50
Anyone know What’s is the engine code for a 2012 Tiguan 2.0 Tdi and a 2011 S5 Audi 2.0 Tdi?
There are many!

They are more complex, so more likely to fail, but considering how complex they do well.
0-100 THE GOLF with the CUAA engine?
Not setup for doing them really plus it's only around 250hp so. Built for racing rather than straight line speed

Why remove biturbo system?
