- There's a new LEGO Star Wars Randomizer mod in town, and this time, instead of randomizing load zones, it randomizes... everything else, from characters, to minikits, and even... hats, and we're going to get 100%, or as close to it as we can without playing super stories (lol)

I mean I GET why skywalker saga doesn't have custom characters, but even though there are over 300 to pick from I still wanna play as myself lol
Most of the characters in Skywalker Saga feel like filler, imo. Yeah, it’s cool there are so many I guess, but I feel like that’s partly to justify the class system which kinda breaks characters depending on where they are in the story. Duplicates of the same characters are split up into different classes instead of just being variants of the same character. Force Awakens did an awesome job expanding characters abilities as they progressed in the story, allowing them to use previous mechanics on top of new ones as they grew. Heroes wearing disguises proves they could do that too, but just kinda chose not to in favour of the weird forced class system.
Worth mentioning people keep forgetting or maybe ignoring that TT was trying to implement character customisation, and it’s even IN the game code and files, but they didn’t get enough time to get it working. Internal pressure forced them to drop it, it wasn’t an intended choice. Hope the next release in the new engine realises the customisation features they were working on.
Hot take: a smaller hub is better than entire open worlds like Skywalker Saga

LEGO Creator has a better building system than LEGO Worlds. Not only does it have bricks with unique functions, such as the antenna that can make any build a playable character, but it also has hinge bricks, which allow for building in more ways than simply vertically.
I swear everytime I see one of these videos and they go over a glitch like it's well known yet I can't find a single thing about it on the internet, I wish there was a place that just has cataloged all the glitches in Lego Star Wars TCS
Hot take: The Force Awakens LEGO game isn't as bad as it's made out to be.
I’d argue it’s better structurally than Skywalker Saga. Kept thinking back to it when I was playing through the story missions and was kinda disappointed they didn’t expand on it there.
I don't usually comment, but I have a few hot takes, so I'll oblige.
The Complete Saga is the worst game to 100%, a crud ton of levels, the bounty hunter missions, and all the stuff you need to buy is already a lot, but then you have stuff like super story and the blue challenge kits, it's so boring and just feels like something the devs put in to artificially extend the games length.
Lego Marvel 1, Lego City Undercover and DC Super Villains are the best out of the games after the OG trilogy.
Lego Indy 2 is one of my favorites.
And finally, Lego Pirates is the best out of the pre-voice acting era that isn't from the OG trilogy.
Super story is awful. The rest I don't mind. I guess I'm mad because I've got to do story mode gunship cavelery twice, and that level sucks so bad. Both OG LSW and the remake
My "hot" take: The reused movie lines in Lego Marvel Avengers almost completely ruins the game for me. It feels so forced compared to the game itself which is pretty good.

I replayed that game like JUST this month and the lego humor they tried to insert around all the Marvel Movie dialogue scenes SUCKED.
Even when I was a kid I didn't like that game, literally dropped it for years and only went back to it after going back to a plethora of other lego titles.
I love how Lego games which have been a huge part of my childhood have an amazing community like this that I never knew about till recently
You could 100% randomize the rooms if you put them in separate pools.
There would be 2 sections to complete. Random character levels and random ship levels.
It may just be nostalgia talking, but The Complete Saga is most definitely the best lego game to exist.
I have played Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, Bat man, and harry potter.

After just doing lego harry potter 100% Harry Potter 1-4 is far superior to 5-7, less because 1-4 is better, and more 5-7 is worse.
5-7 has issues, such as the placement of certain red bricks, not where they are but which ones are where, by deathly hallows part 1 you already have a x8 multiplier with just the base characters, and then minor bricks are locked by dark magic, which, due to how spells are locked in 5-7, is unobtainable until the end of the game, even if you have a dark wizard. All characters learn spells (minus reducto) at the same time as the main trio, meaning any adult character you have doesn't know augmenti until you take the class, etc. 1-4 didn't have this, but made it feel fair as it was hard to unlock characters who had such spells until closer to the end of the game.
5-7 just has issues, it feels like it was never balanced properly so everything got nerfed, and also the removal of a ton of rooms from Hogwarts made it just feel empty, 1-4 had a bunch of "secret rooms" but 5-7 has two, the divination class room and tower.
Completely agree with the Indy 2 vehicle missions. They're so fun
I didn't grow up with Indy 2 but I grew up with HP1-4, which had the same vehicle physics in bonus levels. Me and my dad would enter the first bonus level and just hit each other in all the different vehicles, laughing at the physics, seeing how far you could hit the motorcycle, etc... Easily some of my most cherished lego games memories
Hot take: Young Indy is the only good bonus level among classic games

Headcanon: Force Ghost Anakin tries to go back in time to make sure his turn to the dark side never happens, though as a result, the characters end up scattered across time.
Hot take: Lego Indy 2 is one of the best Lego games. It’s so fun to complete walking around the world and everything is organized well for you to do everything in every world easily. I know its structure is not the same as other Lego games but it is not a bad game at all. Just ignore the creator part

I think that the character customisation is the best thing about DC Supervillains and the characters you can create are mostly better than the actual roster.
Absolutely, especially when the campaign is structured around your initial custom character in a way that lets you try out most, if not all, the abilities available. Really good superhero game imo

All Lego games need to bring back that one nifty feature in the best Lego story game ever, that lets you drop into a mission from stage 1, 2 or 3. You don’t have to play the whole mission if you missed something in any stage.

my controversial lego game take is that I miss them making non-TT Lego games like Racers, Alpha Team, and Rock Raiders. Like, I'm just kinda done with Lego 3D platformer-y games for a while, I'm content with all the ones we've got now lol, go back to making a wider variety of games pls

hot take: lego indy 2 would have a much better reputation if it was limited to just kingdom of the crystal skull. the puzzle box designs for levels and the crystal skull hub worlds are genuinely fun to engage with and if any film can get away with all the odd boss fights it's that one.
not sure how controversial this is but Episode III is easily the worst chapter of The Complete Saga. the only saving grace it has is 3-6.
I really wanted to 100% the Skywalker Saga but after finishing the story and replaying the first movie i encountered a bug where you can't exit any level, the button just didn't work, so i restarted the game which fixed the bug but gave me another one that made it impossible to skip cutscenes except the opening. Didn't bother playing more after that

LEGO SW The Clone Wars > LEGO SW The Complete Saga
The enemies on Kashyyyk are clone troopers not stormtroopers. The mountable characters in Jabba’s Palace are not spider droids but rather B’omarr monks.
I’ll hit you with a counter-hot take. HP5-7 is so much worse than 1-4. 1-4 had issues, but 5-7 has worse hub worlds, a worse UI, longer load times, more bad levels, less fun spells, and a worse character roster. The mechanics of the first game were just much more fun overall, and there are almost no parts that 5-7 does better.
Here's my Lego game hot takes: first of all, I thought Lego Star Wars The Force Awakens was pretty solid.
Next, Lego Marvel Avengers is my favorite Lego Marvel game simply due to the fact that it's the only one with Scarlet Witch. I'm a big Scarlet Witch fan, so it's good in my book.

I would put Lego Avengers at my number one Lego game. Other than a few of the levels, I loved the whole thing.

I resently saw a video that shuffled collectables over mario 64, pokemon red and minecraft. I have no idea how but, while probably difficult, would be possible within the lego games.
Impressive stuff! How did you get 100% without playing through super stories though. I'm currently trying to get 100% the normal way, and what's left are only those super stories. Did them for Ep1 and Ep2 and it got me from 96% to 98%.

Not really a hot take but the Handheld versions of the Lego games are severely underrated, at least up to LotR (can't really speak for the ones after except Marevel Super Heroes 1 which was shit).
They weren't as good as the console/PC versions sure but they had just as much effort behind them and offered just as memorable experiences, which were sometimes notably different from the main versions.
Bionicle heroes is the best Lego game and is criminally underrated.

I know I'm a little late (1 month) my controversial Lego game opinion is that "Lego Batman" 1 2 and 3 should get their own collection (the 3in1 editions of the games for newer consoles) so you can play them on a Nintendo switch.
