well i mean i now the basic positioning, but like where should i be depending on where the puck is and stuff like that. ill look at the article to find out what i need to now, thanks!
@2:00 if one takes the initial step with the right instead of the left (really a slide of the right foot forward) it creates cross body "tension" with the puck dragging behind the body and the weight transfer to the forward/left foot still. Both of the shot sequences, and others are, are a practice till practical skill. love the vids
@4:40 there is a definite benefit to finding "A" sweet spot. That benfit is the FEEL of the deflection of the stick. Past that it is impairing to stay within that sweet spot. Rarely is one able to get or predict the pass to this sweet spot. Get comfortable then push this boundaries.
Much appreciated Jeremy, always find your video's very helpful please keep up the good work. - I live in Australia and equipment isnt always easy to find here, when it is its usually really really expensive, being a full time student its usually simply out of my reach most of the time. Was just wondering your thoughts on how to get the best results if your short on space and money? Is there any way I can get this kind of practice in, or even close to it, without the equipment shown here? Are there any cheaper alternatives your aware of? My skating has improved massively over the past 12 months, I'm starting to look like a hockey player, but I still find my shot to be my weakest skill on the ice, I practice as much as I can with the ice time I have but as you say its something you really need to do a lot of to master.. - Again, many thanks, your channel has helped a lot.
Love your videos, you are doing good things! Just wanted to add that you should mention that players should learn to shoot off of both feet. You showed the step and shoot on the outside foot but you should also show the shot off the inside foot. 👍
I definitely second the tip of shooting ~100 pucks a day (every day) if you've got the option; I started shooting ~150 pucks daily approx. 1½ month ago and am definitely seeing improvements on both wrist and slap shots. Build a routine around the shot with various puck movements, dekes etc. and take the shot as the reward. Although the league I'm playing doesn't allow slap shots, it's always been something I wanted to become good at and the daily practice definitely makes a big difference. If you've got a phone with a good camera that allows for recording of slow motion video, then put it to good use to check your technique and make changes accordingly.
I really loved your comment thank you so much in the league I'm in now they allow slap shots and let's just say I'm not the greatest shooter but I am a really good defense but I'm trying to be both I really appreciate your comment I'm gonna try this and see how it goes for me as in my league I'm normally the only girl out of all the players since it isn't girls hockey witch is even more the reson why I want to be better 😅
and I have been practicing all summer and off season until last week I got a awesome shooting board pucks , sticks , net this stuff is just so cool thank you for teaching me the fastest game in the world other wise I wouldn't have never made my first hockey team thanks
More dry land skills would be awesome. My buddies and I get together every Saturday morning to work on shooting and passing at a roller hockey rink in SoCal.
I am 13 and this is my first hockey season and I had my first 2 team practices and I had scrimmage and I played defense and I was pretty good,at defence so can you make more videos on how to play defense training. thank you.
I have a 4 video series on playing defense here - ua-cam.com/video/hHJcYL0VEsA/v-deo.html And just wrote this article - howtohockey.com/how-to-play-defense-roles-responsibilities/
+How To Hockey - Coach Jeremy I've been watching The pros take a snapshot and in slow motion and I've been noticing they take like a mini slap shot before releasing it is that something I should work on?
It was a tester, a prototype before the Cypress was released. I still have their retail version and did a review on it ua-cam.com/video/AqFw1C05j1I/v-deo.html
Great video. Will try this out when my off-ice setup is done :) Only problem I have is stick length: When being on the skates you are taller. This means the position of the puck and the position of the hand differs from the off-ice training on foot. How can I compensate for that? Cutting the stick isn't really an option cuz 1) i only have one stick and 2) the flex will also go up this way ...
Hey I'm a kid that knows nothing about hockey but I want play is there an age that's to old to start hockey because I'm worried if I played the other kids would tease me
My partner bought me the white cypress. I've used it in maybe 5 games and the blades is already cracked in the middle. Never used it on road, only ice and the synthetic rinks
Hi Ian, this was a prototype that was weaker than their current retail version. I was testing it and had logged a lot of shots with it, they were surprised it hadn't already broken on me as with this prototype they just wanted to know how the feel of it was. They made a number of changes and tests since they sent me this one, and the current retail version is beefed up more than this one.
When shooting in stride you should be able to release the puck with power and accuracy from either foot. Watch NHL footage and you will see examples of both.

Could you make a video on offensive and defensive position for wingers?
It's kind of self explanatory
+VolTic EnforCer there are a lot of responsibilities that need to be explained. I have articles about it and will make videos
well i mean i now the basic positioning, but like where should i be depending on where the puck is and stuff like that. ill look at the article to find out what i need to now, thanks!

VolTic EnforCer nah it’s not lmao
I laughed out loud when the stick snapped. I can't tell you how many times that happened to me.
***** Thanks, Bourque.

Should I cancel my verbero cypress order?
Nope, it's a great stick, and that was a prototype.

I watched this video just because I knew the cypress was a goner.
My partner bought me the white cypress. I've used it in maybe 5 games and the blades is already cracked in the middle. Never used it on road, only ice and the synthetic rinks
When the stick snapped, idk if it was just me or did it sound like a gunshot

Must be nice to be able to break a $200+ like it's nothing. Looks like I gotta cancel my pre-order, can't afford to snap sticks like that
Hi Ian, this was a prototype that was weaker than their current retail version. first
The footwork you use with shoes won't work with skates
Nice one, 200 dollars down the drain 😂
No it was the first stick they sent when they were still making prototypes and sent it to me to test.
+The Hockey Movement by How To Hockey well that's a relief, I guess😂
What is you don't have enough money to afford all of this stuff?
bro youre shooting off the wrong foot, when youre shooting in stride you should be shooting off the foot closest to the stick.
When shooting in stride you should be able to release the puck with power and accuracy from either foot. Watch NHL footage and you will see examples of both.
schooled^
Just broke my stick which one should I get
Bauer mx3
Not a Cypress I guess. Jk, its a nice stick.
