This is so important. It was the topic of my first two UA-cam videos on my channel. I don’t think this topic is taught/reinforced enough here in the US.
My thoughts - an EXCELLENT stickhandling drill for anyone midlevel and up, is to stickhandle with only your top hand. This is quite possibly the most important drill I give for myself during warmup before games. Just release your bottom hand from the stick, and handle the puck back and forth as fast as you can with just the top hand. It forces you to condition AND STRENGTHEN your engagement of the top hand.
@@schejby24 Absolutely. It will strengthen your top hand. You have the benefit of your power hand being the dominant hand, though, and it means you will be a better shooter than most, also means your lateral control movements should be stronger, which makes you harder to stick check and stick lift.
ugh i hate the tacky stuff. I dont get it, feels weird when you want to move your bottom hand up and down if you need to extend your reach quickly or choke up on it a bit.
PVC pipe is good, but in my opinion, using a toilet roll works better. As with PVC pipe, you can grip it as hard as you want. However, with a toilet roll, it will crunch up, so it really gets you used to not holding onto the stick so hard.
How essential would you say gloves are for a beginner that doesn't plan on playing competitively? I'm just messing around by myself rn but would yall say that I need gloves to play?

PVC pipe works well as you can’t crunch it. 1 1/4” size.
i tried this and it worked right away. thank you for the video!!!

Thanks for the tip bud
What if my dominant hand is on the bottom of my stick? Should I still do it the same as in the video?

@@Kieva_Storm OK, thanks. I thought if I should focus more on working with one hand, the lower one.
Thanks, I will use this advice, great video!
I got my contractor of a neighbour to give me a scrap piece of PVC pipe and it works great!!
Can you do a video on how to make transitions more fluid and use your inside leg edges more.
The new tacky shafts don't help people develop lower hand skills. I've been battling "Right-hander's disease" for 60 years, so great tips!

I just did this like two weeks ago!
OK I'm off to the bathroom
I’ve always used a piece of PVC pipe

Love the drills and the Rekker! Just got an M90 for beer league and I like it a ton

Awesome video Jeremy! You're going to make #ToiletPaperHack the new trend!
Sher-Wood needs to give you a new pair of gloves ;)
