This video is awesome. My backhand has been garbage my entire life, but 10 minutes after watching this I’m snapping backhands consistently with power and elevation at the net. The third tip was the key for me. Jesus, I would have loved to have seen this video when I was a kid 30 years ago. Thank you!!
Thanks Jeremy... your lessons are consistently accurate, well-presented, and helpful. Your NHL footage always illustrates your teaching points. What a great resource you are!!
It should start from the flattest part of the backhand (heel/middle) but when you shoot you'll find it works it's way towards the toe which is fine! As long as the puck doesn't slip off the end of your stick too early it's all good!
Yes. Puck separation is the key. I noticed that during the games i used to make nice and powerful backhands from a dekes. But when it come to train i am frustrated because i try to shoot with full contact. So no more full contact (stick-puck).
Before I watched this my backhands always sucked. After watching my backhand improved so much. I still whiff on a lot of the shots but when I do get a good backhand it’s a good backhand. Thank you so much!
My shot straight up sucks, forehand or backhand, but I have multiple accidentally amazing backhand goals from an extreme angle just above the goal line. Every time, I’m stretched out and barely reaching the puck, but I manage to roll it perfectly off the blade to the short side top shelf just over the goalie’s glove. Now I just need to do it in purpose.
Datsyuk’s backhand was deadly! He would score from the Faceoff dot! And beat the goalie soundly. Crosby’s is great. The advice Howe gave Gretzky was “Work on your backhand. It will be important.”
There are lots more variations of the backhand but these were the 3 tips that I felt would help you guys the most! Let me know if this helped 😁⬇️
I just made a aaa team and now all I need to know is pretty much my backhand and this really helps so thanks

Good shit. Crosby has one hell of a backhand
The way he loads and then explodes/drops into his backhand is just unreal! He even gets flex on the stick 💪
With the years of failure on this, the necessity of separation(step 3) is so stinkin helpful, thank you for this video!
Super excellent. My backhand can be hit and miss, on and off. This should help me. You broke it down so well.
What's the flooring called?
Hey Coach Jeremy, can you do the slapshot next? I know you already did one but if you can do another that'd be nice
That literally helped me so much
When we start at the heel and separate is it ok to shoot more up the blade or should we just shoot right in the center?

Really helpful video!
I havn't even played Hockey for nearly 20 years and I learned a lot :D ... Very nice. Entertaining.
Should the puck be impacted? Or does it roll off the blade?
Thank You! Look ooot for the sauna!
yes
Are you guys eventually going to do why the defense men always gets you and do 3 ways to get past a defender

Does this work with a ball?

T.J. Oshie and Crosby both have a pretty good backhand
