OMG! Perfect timing! I am a huge wasanbon higashi lover, and was looking into making some for my tea time. Perfect! Thank you so much! The result is very delicate and pretty, which makes me happy
Am from India , my granny used to have even cashew shaped mould, banana bunch shaped one , mango shaped . ... We make these especially for weddings in South India 😀
Thank you so much for this videos. I was wondering if it's possible to make your own wasanbon sugar (using casters sugar or something similar). Is there any replacement or substitute for it? Thank you!

It looks so humble with the tea, I love it 🌸
In Indonesia we also used the same technique to shape our cookies. It's often used to make traditional Sagoe cookies 😊😊😊.

Que bonitas y ricas se ven! Se me antojaron

This looks similar to the "Rockets" compressed powder candies here in Canada. Except in circle pill forms.
Im recommended this after watching the drama watashitachi wa douka shiteiru
Thouroughly confused, but fascinated. Have fun!
thank you!!;)
How do u know if it's ready?
This reminds me of yuyuko a lot
i wonder how does it taste?
In Malaysia we called this kuih bangkit. We even add cheese to it :)
Yeah. Exactly like kuih bangkit. Bt i nver see the one with cheese before😅
I thought putu kacang lol
oh! really? i will search it;)
Just like a Malaysia traditional food but we make from green bean..
Putu kacang, isnt it? 😊
@@Nurul_Snowy6425 yup...putu kacang miss old day..
Ohhhhhh i had these before their good
Is this also the candy in festivals, the one where you poke with needle to trace shape (Katanuki)?
I don't think so. This is more sophisticated one, which goes with Maccha at the tea ceremony.
I haven't tried wansabon, but can I eat it even it's just a powder?
yes! powder of wasanbon is good taste;)
美しいですよね!
有難うございます!!( '∇^*)
Can I use regular sugar?
no,when we make these dry sugar candies,we need wasanbon sugar or japanese sugar "johakuto"
What does it taste like? I know the question is very weird but I want to know what it tastes like-
it tastes like semi sweet lump of powdered sugar! its not as sweet as normal cane sugar and has this mellow taste I can't quite put my finger on, its nice!
what did you use to rub it with? just a normal wooden spoon?
the shape of wooden bar is good for sugar harden;)
🌸🌸🌸thank you🌸🌸🌸
thank you!!;)
Nice!
kalau orang Melayu, lebih kurang macam putu beras lah cuma kita tak guna gula semata.
Nice
🌸🌸🌸

wagashi means japanese traditional sweets;)
what does the rubbing do
