i'm always in awe watching these videos at how low of a price you get your comics for, golden age/silver age for basically pennies. always in good grades too. i don't know how you do it but i'm jealous! very relaxing and cool video :)
These videos are great. One thing that I used to find fascinating with Marvel and DC comics as a kid back in the 80s was the advertisements. There were so many cool gadgets and candies that was unobtainable here in the UK so they seemed quite exotic. I imagine that there must have been some quite interesting adverts in some of the vintage comics in your collection. Thanks for doing these videos, I really look forward to them.
For sure, we've seen some of them in our reading sessions. They're great. Two of the themes that appear the most are the muscle ads and the one pagers where you have a choice of a lot of little gadgets to choose from. The innocent days.
Nice video! :-) Appreciate the unique content. Just some interesting info about the Apocalypse Now/Hearts of Darkness part: Heart of Darkness was originally a novella published in 1899. It was set in the Congo and featured pretty much the same situation (a troop of men traveling the river). This is the brilliance of Apocalypse Now, because he was able to take a very interesting story which was already 80 years old and update it to make it relevant for the modern times. One of the all-time great movies.
+Gage Scurlock Awesome! thanks for the info, I didn't know. Definitely one of the greatest all time movies. On a side note, just in case you like war movies that stick with you, the Russian war movie, "Come and See" is absolutely brilliant as well. Well worth the watch.
Jayne Mansfield.....tragically beheaded in an auto accident.. Our local Carnival claimed to have .."The car in which Jayne Mansfeild was beheaded" so we would pay a buck to go in a tent and see a smashed up car..:)
Oh man, may you please do a reading of either of those Archie books in a future comic set? I would love to see the interiors. And awesome video as always! :)

I remember in afghanistan the dallas cowboy cheerleaders were supposed to come see us. Ended up not showing up do to the Taliban deciding to pay us a nice little visit that day. Awesome video man

Great video. I am normally a fan of your maths videos but this is ace too. I had an idea as well. I know nothing about comics, and I loved the historical information in this video. Maybe... you could do a... history of comic books ASMR video?

Do you mainly buy on ebay or do you buy from comic retailer websites like "mycomicshop" type websites? I can never seem to find great deals on ebay and ,as I am also in Canada, the prices sky rocket due to the current status of the dollar and shipping. I really enjoy watching your videos, seeing all the cool comics you have collected.
+sapdude44 For sure, buying online has become more expensive but I still do it, mainly because I'm still finding amazing deals. It's a great time to be buying comic books that aren't hot, that's for sure. As for where I buy online, I only buy off ebay. I also have three comic book stores that I do frequent, I'm sort of transitioning from one town to another so that's sort of the way it's playing out.

I'm getting close to the comic book set I have lined up. Just have to find a handful of the books that I want to read, and I'm in the middle of a move right now so look for them hopefully some time towards the end of April.... and there will definitely be some Marvel books in there, one of which will be New Mutants #98 :)

Hi Ethan, thanks for the love, brother :) As for your questions, way back in in 2008 I put out a book recommendation video, here is Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/msAqXqIhTzA/v-deo.html ...and I do plan on doing a follow up video with another five books. I've already picked out the books that I want to recommend and have four of them handy, just have to find the other one that's in one of my boxes in storage.... now which box was it in again... hmmm... As for more art, most definitely, but it will be slow coming. I've done a few moves in the last few years so a lot of my personal stuff is in storage, so putting together more art videos has to occur when I end up getting new ones for my collection. Just a heads up though, I do plan on putting together some other videos about some of the other stuff that I have a collection, hopefully I'll have one of those up in the next month or so... as for what it is, I worked as a geophysicist many moons ago and we love rocks and crystals and minerals :)

George Martin Have you ever heard of a book called "Understanding Comics" by Scott McCloud? Comics are no longer just about fantasy and superheroes, And many adults are now into Comics just as much as Children. Comics are the new improved entertaining way of communicating, it's just that it's taking so long to flourish. But within the next 20 years I'll bet that Comic Novels will finally be the norm for almost anything. I Love to Read, but I love to read with Graphics on the pages even more. I recently decided to go back and start sketching again, because I have plans for a Book that I want to write and using comics would make it the most interesting. There is nothing Geeky about being a Comic Book Lover. especially when you consider (1) the fact that the Authors are Writers and Artists that put this stuff together. And (2) the possibilities of Comics over movies. BUT if Comic Books are Geeky, so is Television and Computer games
