i use the fists all the time, they don't have any downsides! far too often have i been screwed over by the KGB's slower swing, the fists of steel making it take too long to get back to my gun, or some other issue that makes other heavy melees not practical for a normal heavy loadout. that said, the GRU and eviction notice are TOTAL upgrades for a standard loadout, i just feel bad using them since they get around heavy's drawback of being slow without much of a real downside.
The stock fists are my favorite weapon in the game, my strange ones are nearing 5k kills! I run around exactly like this, once you learn how to dance around people as heavy you get random crits all the time and have so much fun. Thanks for posting an appreciation video!!
My coolest heavy moment was when my friend was pocketing me and I surfed 2 stickies INTO the demo and crit killed him. You better believe I taunted afterwards.

For example i noticed i had a bunch of unique items laying around ln my inventory, so i traded them and i got a total of 2.88 ref! Just a suggestion

The Holiday Punch is basically 100% better than the fists. You can't deal damage on a crit, but instead of that, the enemy becomes stunned. That is all, really. So I'd say it is a straight upgrade. You can also backstab people to stun them. The KGB is almost a straight upgrade, with the statistics being comparable to the Ubersaw. The G.R.U., Eviction Notice and FoS are definitely better than the fists for utility, but have noticeable downsides. They give either speed bonuses or damage resistance. The Warrior Spirit is the worst Heavy melee. It makes you deal more melee damage, at the cost of taking more damage from all sources. 50 health on kill isn't worth it.
People who play heavy don't tend to use their melee ad their minigun is much more practical than waiting and smacking, they also can't always escape a minigun
