nice! There is a live version of this from Glastonbury which is much more fun because of the audience and everything being much more energetic. Great fun!
One thing that is amazing is that they don't use any synths or keyboards at all. All the effect-sounds you hear are done by the two ladies, especially by Georgia on bass.
I dig it. I really like the fuzz they put in their strings.

Feels like it could be Big Beat, especially the later Prodigy gnarlier end of it, if not for the... you know... beat. Wouldn't choose to listen to the song again, but I'd give their other stuff a go, if for no other reason than I think honing that kind of sound on bass probably means getting to know your instrument extremely well; Georgia probably has some sick riffs and chops that I'd happily check out.
Definitely here for more women and PoC in heavy music, even if I don't end up listening to these two I hope they inspire a whole load of kids to believe they can do this too!

Could you check out the band Doyle, specifically the son Kiss me as we die. They a horror themed metal band, also thier logo is a Frankenstien skull. Love your videos :) side note there is beautiful operatic parts in it.

I know what you mean! I don't think they're groundbreaking but that's not really the point, imo. This isn't my favourite tune of theirs by a long shot but I think it's a pretty interesting live recording.
Amy's guitar playing is usually pretty minimal in the band - the band is held together by that huge bass by Georgia. She's honestly what attracts me to the band because I haven't heard anyone get such wild bass tones in a long, long time.
A couple of other points - in other songs Georgia does backing and harmonies, and Amy's voice isn't always placed so forwardly.
Funnily enough they actually did a cover of a Beyonce song in the same BBC1 Live Lounge session :)

Funny what you say about Beyonce. AFAIK she financed the movie "Cadillac Records" just to get the main female character role. I somehow liked the movie. But I thought she added, eh, not much. LOL. Your mileage may vary. Sure she wanted to sing the Etta James songs to show off. And is she an OK actress? YES. But it somehow did not really touch me as it was intended. Maybe because she is a bit of a narcissistic assh*le. Hahahaha.

I think Beyoncé is a reprehensible arsehole but then again who am I but a mere worm with a UA-cam channel. I didn’t really enjoy a lot of Beyoncé’s acting performances, they all felt really hollow.
