This video has helped me save a lot of money by replacing the filter myself. Dealership wants to charge something like $50 for a $12 part that takes 5 minutes when you know what you’re doing. Thank you!
Thanks for your helpful video. My only difficulty was getting the 3 tabs on the plastic “honeycomb” filter cover, to unlatch. I wound up jamming in 3 small flat screwdriver heads (one each tab, at the same time) and that popped the cover open. Thanks again!
Great video but I can’t get the cabin filter door off for what ever reason Pushing down on the 3 top tabs which are super stiff Tried but no luck Any further suggestions to get the cover off
The cabin air filter filters the air that comes out of the vents inside your vehicle. We do not have a key battery replacement video yet for the atlas, sorry
doesnt work. the 3 buttons to unclip the tabs of the access door for the cabin filter is impossible to press down. Used all my strength and im trying to find metal tools to pry those tabs down.
It’s the thin ring or rim around the tabs. Feel the very edge of it, around the three the three sides and those thin circumference rings pry down easily. If your fingers are too big use a screwdriver on the small rings around the fixed tabs.
PYR Automotive saved our road trip today. We are a true, living statistic (9/10 times) here to still tell our story and continue down this route (I-220 S). Beyond blessed to not have been the other 10%… and can confirm it’s all easier with two hands. Embarrassed to admit, I actually found a *dOnGlE* in my filter. Teehee 🤭
The other thing I would recommend is that if you have long fingernails, they will get in the way and one of mine caught and bent backwards below the quick. Ouch. Bleeding too. So trim your nails or use screwdrivers.

Yah, those three latches are a beast. Ended up jamming screw drivers into them to losen them up. Broke my thumbnail while I was at it.
Yeah they definitely can be - especially if the cabin filter has never been changed before
Dealing with that now! I was like this guy did it with ease, so clearly it’s a “me” problem. Good to know it’s not me
