Ooooowweee you're gonna like this one, let us know what you think! We'll have a couple of copies to give away. Mark
Looks pretty nifty, hope it finds happy homes on SwitchUp family's consoles, purchased or won! My backlog doesn't have room right now 😅
Thanks!
Ooweeeeee I do 😄
Game looks great loving the art style and jungle book vibe , loving the channel keep up with the always great videos
Very good I was looking for something to scratch that Limbo itch. My favourite game in that genre is INSIDE. Hope I can win a copy!
The Switch is still getting amazing games. Reading comments on a post earlier saying how the Switch is for "kids and indie crap". So uneducated 😂😂
It’s actually quite the opposite I feel, as I’ve grown older I have found myself coming back to Nintendo more and more and playing those CoDs less and less!
Yeah some really nice ones coming out thankfully! Mark
Also what kind of content do people show their kids if for them, directed at kids == crap??🤨 Also, imho Nintendo mostly does games for all ages that should be (and often are) enjoyable for all ages
I’m nearly 70 and I love my switch, there’s such a wide variety of games. I love puzzle games and open world ones but I can also play Mario Kart with my 6 year old grandson.
Totally agree with you!
It's great to see the sponsorship coming through! Not only because you get the support you deserve for your quality channel, but also we get to see some really good games! This one is right up my street 👍🏻
Thank you brother! Mark
The switch may not have the potency of a ps5 or any other modern console, but what a beautiful home it is for a miriad of awesome RPG’s, Metroidvania’s, strategy and puzzle games! It’s just amazing to see that more awesome games are making the switch their home! Thanks guys for always bringing good games to the spotlight 😃
Couldn't agree more!
Golf club wastelands is a super interesting and addictive game, and with the 50% off deal this cub one seems an easy choice to make. Being a switch player have never been better! Congrats on the rising sponsorship, you guys deserve it ❤
Gold Club Wasteland was such a good story. I was invested in a game that I thought was just about golfing. If you haven’t played, you need to.
I'm always interested in its setting and combined ideas, but didn't get it yet because I don't really like golf. But I guess it's not really a game about golf... More about human lack of care about anything? I'd love to see both together physical in retail, I might get them during a sale as well.
I like the look of this. Not usually into combat free games but this looks cool. I have golf club wasteland in my backlog.
I thought jungle book before you said it 🤣😊
I had moved onto a Xbox series s, but it still amazes me how many dope games the switch gets so frequently. It feels like games are coming out every week for the switch.
Indie companies truly can make some really surprisingly fun and emotional games
I agree. They are prepared to take risks and do something different. The gaming industry would be very predictable and stale without them.
The setting and art design remind me of Scavengers Reign! I like how it looks like a colorful limbo/inside. It is also cool how they decided to make another game in this same universe. It is great to play a game and want more of the world, but you get to change up your gaming experience by playing something different. I would love to see this with more games. I understand the appeal of sequels and related games being based on the same game mechanics, but it would also be great to see more games that fit different genres in the same universe.
Wow you are more famous now, big sponsorship and more frequent ones, this is what you deserve!!
Hey thanks will still be pumping out normal reviews January is pretty dry so it's good to get a few sponsors onboard. Mark
Just want to send my appreciation to Untold Tales for sponsoring the 12 days of SwitchUp 2023, its a series worth a yearly return and rewatch. May all your games be good ones! Cheers Gents!
❤
It has worked out really well for a lot of us I think, since I didnt know about a lot of these games otherwise!
@@BunchaNothin same, I would've passed them over but quite a few have joined my wishlist which has not seen such rapid growth in... well ever... since finding this channel. Hope you're having fun gaming mate, many gems out there!
It is absolutely brilliant how they connected the Golf game and this Action/Platformer to create a depth to the series and the "Universe" they have imagined. I am looking forward to other games that may be a part of this incredible Untold Tale.
You had me at “Limbo!” This looks great
Inside is by far my favorite of these kinds of platformers, and this looks like it’s got the same sort of variety.
I trust you guys implicitly... If you ever become corrupt I am doomed 😂, with great power comes..
Added to the wishlist! One of my guilty pleasures in life is abandoned places and some of my favorite books, games, and TV episodes have happened in them. Naturally I love the landscape and atmosphere here. Also very into the gameplay being simple enough to be cozy but looking very fluid and varied and overall entertaining. Thanks for bringing this game to my attention and thanks to Untold Tales for always supporting my favorite channel.
Loving the art style on this, and loved Golf Club Wasteland (as it was when I bought it!)
Though the setting is a little different, the style and premise has some similarities to Scavengers Reign. I highly recommend watching it if you're looking for a TV show that looks and feels like this!
As it still is in some regions.
I am definitely gonna get both of these games now! I LOVE when seemingly unrelated games share universes and characters!!!!
I really like the look and sound of this game. Of course I’m happy that you’re getting sponsors and even happier that you’re not swayed by them, staying true to the channel and giving an open and honest opinion.
I bought the switch knowing very little about it other than animal crossing was coming and I needed it but watching your channel one day has led to me playing so many games I normally wouldn’t have played and I’ve discovered a new set of genres I’ve never looked at so thanks guys!!
I loved Golf Club Wasteland, and spent way too many hours with The Lion King on Sega Genesis back in the day, so this was a no brainer for me. Can't wait to start playing it here in a bit.
Art style is absolutely stunning. And I know it's such a low key thing but I love that very subtle connections to their previous games
I'm pretty sure I got Golf Club Wasteland because of you guys a while ago and I added The Cub to my wishlist when you mentioned it last year. It was a pleasant surprise to see it at a discount and I just picked it up because you had such good things to say about it. You give such solid reviews. Most of my games on my wishlist are from your recommendations. We won't talk about my backlog though lol...
So beautiful! The color and glow give me an ORI vibe, which is a fave of the genre.
Great review! I love the idea of a juxtaposed radio/soundtrack with the environment. Also like that there's no combat and the focus is on evading/surviving.
I love this genre of game. A little bit Metroidvania, a little bit rhythm, a little bit walking game, good platforming and puzzles. A good blend and this one looks like it is done well. Will be keeping my eye on this one.
My son loves loves loves these games, and I love watching him play them!
Golf club wasteland was a gem, Limbo and Inside are 2 of his favorites so definitely adding this to his wishlist for him as his birthday is coming up 🎉
I just recently played golf club nostalgia, so wonderfully atmospheric 💜
Really wholesome video.
I like it when you give smaller unknown games a shout out.
Also, props to the developer to who give away deals if you already own games by them. This should be the norm.
Btw fav game of this genre would be Little Nightmares. The vibe and design of the games are pretty cool
This gives me real abes odyssey vibes. I know the new kids wont know much about that game but it was a classic. I really appreciate the art style of this game and literally jungle book is one of my favourite films ever. quality video lads!
The Cub truly follow it's inspiration from other game and make it into its own style.. Love the visual man..
Wow this looks great! I look forward to picking it up. It gives strong Inside vibes as well as those classic platformers you guys mentioned, I know I'm going to love it 😁
It's such a cool looking game. I dig the art style a lot. It's one of those games that are pleasant to look at, if that makes any sense. Thanks for this!
Thank you for the review and a big thank you for Untold Tales for giving you the review code. Saw this trailer and interested to know more and you guys already put up the review 😊
I love games that go that extra mile to include in-universe radio stations. I also love this art style that for some reason reminds me of Forgotten Anne.
I never played Gold Club Wasteland, but this one looks quite nice! Now that you mentioned Limbo a game that I loved playing on my Switch I think I'd enjoy The Cub for sure (I'm also playing Inside - stressfully funny 😅)! The Cub obviously looks less dark and more colorful. Thanks for the review and thanks Untold Tales for keeping our dose of Switch Up flowing! Pura vida 🤘🏼
I love Inside, I actually decided to do another playthrough yesterday even though I should maybe have used that time to check off one in my backlog. The Cub looks awesome.
I absolutely adored Golf Club: Nostalgia (Wasteland)! I never expected that one of my favorite games would've been a golf game, but Golf Club: Nostalgia is so much more than just golf. It's an experience that I struggle to explain with words. I can't wait to pick this game up for myself!
I'm so glad you mentioned Donkey Kong Country! I lived on that trilogy back on the SNES. More recently I really enjoyed Inside.
Great one gents! Loved Golf Club Wasteland, I'm sure I'll love this
This is charming, glad you showed it off!
Cool. I've already got golf club nostalgia so I'll definitely be picking the Cub up for 50% off and it looks a cool game too. Thanks for the review boys.👍
Ooh. I just saw a trailer of this game. It looks interesting.
I love these type of games. They harken me back to my DOS days of playing Out of This World and Blackthorne.
Was a big fan of Golf Club Wasteland (even though I initially dismissed it as a mobile game). Great soundtrack and art design in particular.
The Cub is definitely on my radar now.
Congrats on the Sponsorship and, I hope you are happy because every time you guys show a sponsored game I buy a bunch of the sponsor game resulting in an ever-growing backlog.
It looks good, reminds me of a game that I used to play where you were a ball that could change properties (i think it was made by nifalis) instead of using weapons, it relied on exploration/ability
NightSky!? Man I loved Nifflas games - that was the golden age of indie games
Yeah, this looks lovely! I loved Limbo and the gameplay here also reminds me a little bit in places of Unravel - the fact that you have to rely on the physics of the environment. Obviously it's not a puzzler like Unravel, but there's something there that feels similar. Also, despite this game being a platformer and not a metroidvania, there's a little bit of Ori in there. I also love the dystopic theme, big fave of mine. Thanks again to the guys for a lovely review and yeah, congrats on getting more sponsors!
Looks good. More games like Limbo is always a good thing.
I dont know what to compare it to. Its beautiful. The switch has definitely been one of my favorite purchases. Some of these games really are a place of peace amongst chaos. Thanks again guys. Will have this on my wishlist for sure.
Love the art style, and the attention to detail. Looks like a brilliant little gem! So glad the Switch is still getting quality additions like this, despite it nearing the end of its life! 👍🏻
Yooo this actually looks pretty cool. I love side scrolling games like this!
I played the demo of this game during a recent Steamfest and wish listed it straight away. I didn't realise it was coming to Switch, so glad to hear it is a good game!!
You inspired me to pick this one up at 50% off. Real bargain. Great video as always .. and curse you for filling my backlog up with more great games! Keep up the great work.
Gonna need a physical release for this! Please and thank you 😁
Seeing this character moving makes me think of classics such as Prince of Persia or Anoher World. It seems nice.
This looks really good actually! It’s games like this that will keep me turning on my switch now. Gives me some old school Abe’s Odyssey / Exodus vibes too.
you folks and these amazing devs are the reason my backlog keeps ever expanding
Very good I was looking for something to scratch that Limbo itch. My favourite game in that genre is INSIDE. Hope I can win a copy!
2:55 wow that forest ❤️
This is (one of) my type of game! Thanks for reviewing it!
Love the colour pallet. It's a bit more frenetic than I expected....with the chasing sections. But I will happily grab this in some form eventually.
Fav game of this genre... don't play many of these but if Bramble counts...that one
I loved Limbo and Inside, so I think I’ll love this one too.
This is right up my alley. I really liked the trailer too.
Sure, there's a lot of junk on Switch but there is soooo much quality experiences to be found.
From the art style to the gameplay, this looks really damn sweet
It is always lovely to see you guys getting sponsored! Even from some quiet big Names now! So cool! I have one Question: do you know how long this game will take you to complete?
Game looks cool . Inside is definitely my favourite 2D story platformer. Thank you for another great video!!
I've noticed a growing trend of games that completely switch up the genre between releases...
(yeah, I know)
Hehehe yep
This looks great and I was just rinking it reminded me of jungle book just before you mentioned if
Great review of what looks a great game guys! Definitely feels like it has similar elements to two games I've been enjoying recently - Bastion and The Last Campfire 👍🏻
I’m really excited to try this game! I love the old classic platformers like Jungle Book and Aladdin! But made in modern times it looks fantastic! Can’t wait!
Limbo holds so many great memories for me and this looks like a beautiful upgrade 😊
This might be the best looking “untold tales” games that I’ve seen
First impression was a happy Little Nightmares/Inside and that's great.
I am excited for this! I am currently loving Golf Club Wasteland (it doesn't look like they changed the title in all regions?) and while I often find platformers more frustrating than fun, I'll definitely be giving this a go!
The golf wasteland was a nice chill golf game, would love to win and try out this one thanks
At first i thought the the main character was on a lower frame frame but it might be the character not having as many poses for the run cycle/actions. Either way sometimes you have to have the background movement on a different frame rate so you dont get any parallaxing. I could be wrong but this is how it is working in the 2D animation industry!
This looks great, love the art style, think it’s time to pick up both these games!
Looks good ! I hope one day to see Nintendo have a console that could run games in 4K and play them at 60 fps !
This looks mint! Inside is my fave of this genre.
This game is so much better if going in after having completed Golf Club Wasteland/Nostalgia first, including Charlie's Odyssey that unlocks when finished. It makes a huge difference going into The Cub.
The Cub looks awesome and a little creepy. I gave the golf game and really in Kent! I love watching your videos and j love your rapport with each other
This game has LOVELY art!
I loved Limbo, and this game looks amazing… it’s an instant win for my game library ❤❤❤
This looks delightful! The closest thing to this style of game I have played would be Gris, Valiant Hearts, or maybe The Missing. Where The Missing would be my favorite of the three.
The story and art style really grabs me. I think the music along with the esthetic will make this a great addition to the library
Damn, game looks amazing! Feels like its an animated comic.
Any game that has any similarity to Limbo or Inside is definitely gonna get my attention and probably money.cheers.
There's a lot of great indie games on the Switch and this one could be one of them.
I love the graphics of The Cub. I’m not a big fan of platformers but The Cub looks like it’s worth trying.
Hmm it reminds me of a game I played years ago on switch. I think it was called planet alpha maybe? Gives me that vibe. But there's more climbing and platforming here. I'm definetly adding this to my wishlist for later.
I loved limbo. For some reason it's giving me earthworm Jim vibes as well
It looks amazing with fun gameplay, definitely up my alley! I have said it before, a strong art direction beats graphic fidelity every time.
im starting to feel a little overwhelmed even for a person that dont have a switch too many good games for a console that is turning 7yrs old hopefully we can all still play these games when the new nintendo console comes out
My favorite game in this genre is a tie between GRIS and INSIDE. Both games are masterpieces that I find myself thinking about at least weekly.
Finished a German lesson and then see hauptbahnhof. 😂 Central Station if anyone was curious. One for the backlog. Looks like a definite buy.
Wow. I was thinking Donky Kong and then you said it!
Seems like a dark, dark story. I WANT IN
This game was nowhere near my watchlist but since it has now been likened to Limbo, it is definitely one I should pick up. Once I finish Prince of Persia anyway.
I really enjoyed the first game even if I haven’t finished it yet so I really want to pick this up someday
