I have one of those that I use as a modular track and set prep with the DDJ-XP1 (silent cue offsets the lack of pause/play). I am loving it as a bedroom mixer set up.
Hi, I'm can't get my djm 250 mk2 to record through Traktor scratch pro. When I select external source... I am using traktor time coded vinyl... It plays and sounds brilliant but I can get it to see the record output signal... Can you help... Windows based operating system....
To have iPad sound on channel 1 or 2 but not through RCA port . The idea is to use it as mixer for Djay iOS app for example and use the mixer as a sound card for my ipad. Other brands like Numark are compatibel iOs / Mac / windows
Good review. How do the phono preamps sound with straight vinyl? I mostly play wax and was looking for a nice little mixer, but being able to play DVS would be great too-just curious about how the sound quality with a plain jane turntable is.
I have this, they are standard mate good but worth noting , if your mixing vinyl to DVS , your have to adjust your trims in db signal , another thing I don't like the pitch system in DVS on rekordbox using a technics turntable , you have to work lot more to lock it, I'm not sure if this DVS is designed for digital pitch or pioneer plx ???
Hello Onset Beats, I have the same concern about sound quality with "Phono inputs". Just like you, I play only vinyls and I'm looking for a mixer to enter the DVS world. Did you end up buying it? How it sounds? Thanks
I'm not sure about this as I am looking into a DVS system I currently have a controller with record box. I am however in two minds. Thinking of the interface 2 and a normal mixer rather than a mixer with built in sound card. If ever anything goes wrong with a mixer like this it's more expensive to replace.im leaning towards the interface 2 as it sounds less likely to go wrong. Any thoughts on this ?
Does your controller support DVS Tamsin? If so that's the easy option. If not, there are pros and cons to each approach so it's hard to give a definitive "do this" answer. Find out what works for you :)
I remember that on my 250. I can't say for sure but I would bet that this no longer happens. I couldn't find any reports of it on the internet - Christian
Hi Joey and everyone at the channel! Can you use this, with a simple turntable (and the Rekordbox DVS control vinyl) without a DDJ? Just for basic, basic scratching? And/or could you use it alongside a DDJ-SX? Thanks so much! Trying to figure out the best option for me.
Is there a reason my NDX500 CDJs won't work with this mixer when connected via USB/Rekordbox? Just looking for help before returning. Very informative video - Liked & subbed
You forgot that the power brick sucks balls. Meaning if you ever forget it when you pack up for a gig, its worthless. An IEC or dual wire electric cord would have been good. Otherwise it seems like a good unit
Hey Digital DJ Tips, does the 250mk2 have post fader fx when using Rekordbox DJ? Say I have an SP1 and use Rekordbox echo, can I slam the fader down and hear the tail?
Thanks for the review, you guys always nail it. I have a question let`s say i have a djm 250mk2 and two turntables and i use the dvs system. What else should i have to control the loops, hot cues and effects??
It's a pity! I think it missed this to be perfect or to have three channels... Anyway, thank you so much for your answer and congratulations for your UA-cam channel!!!
Footnote... i think djs who are new into scratching etc.. whould think this mixer has the same magvell crossfader as the djms9.. Thats not the case. The magvell pro fader on the S9 has a way much better feeling then the fader of djm250mk2 , djm450mk2 and the djm900nxs2. Being said that... the djm250mk2 is indeed his price worth.
Agreed seriously weak that they wouldn't have a booth out. The workaround is to take the other Master output and run it through a mini mixer where you can then route to a booth monitor and be able to adjust volume. Here is a good passive line volume controler www.amazon.com/JBL-NPATCH-BLK-Compact-Controller/dp/B01I3B0OH6
Anyone that need some over priced dj equipment that is in brand new condition, let me know, I will even do shipping. This guy just insulted the dj's that came before him that actually had to create an impossible environment for him to call simple. WOW what a ride with this Pioneer journey. I have some NXS among other things to sell from this company it will help to replace the money that I am spending on Allen & Heath amoung bringing some real turntables back; Technics and better CDJ's
This guys is so nice i'm so impressive what he giving us reasonable in formations to ours benefits. Thank you Joey!!
You're very welcome, thank you! :-)
I have one of those that I use as a modular track and set prep with the DDJ-XP1 (silent cue offsets the lack of pause/play). I am loving it as a bedroom mixer set up.
Thanks! I've been waiting for you guys to come out with this. Great consumer advice.
You're welcome Wayne :)
Just bought this mixer! I like it because it has XLR out, and use it mainly for the cue feature. Just using it during vinyl nights!
Cool, glad it worked out for you!
And a notable thing is that its *bundled with a rekordbox dj license*
Great review Joey! Loving your DJ Gear reviews!

You're best off speaking to NI about that (or posting on their forum)
I use vdj 8 for videomix and sersto for audio , if the mixer is compatible ill'consider to buy it
Are the knobs rubberized just like the ones on the DJM 450? Thanks!
Hey Lucas, yes they're rubber :)
Thanks a lot for the reply Joey! Keep up the excellent work! Cheers
Cheers 🙂
Hi , Can I use Traktor vinyl on Rekordbox 6 ? Same applies on DJM 450 ?
Sorry, not something we've tried
Can you use the sound card with ableton? use it as the master out or return outputs?
Never tried it! :)
Yes
Can I use a couple of tired CDJ 800 using timecode CD with this mixer ?
My aux won't work for my usb
It's a nice mixture.
Hello digital dj tips, can you please tell me if I can use the djm250 mk2 with traktor ? I want to have a setup with kontrol X1 mk2 and F1
Yeah pretty sure Traktor will recognise the sound card, and seeing you're not using the DVS capabilities, you should be good.
Can this work with virtual dj or serato?
No
Hi thanks for the video ! Can i use it with ipad pro connected to the usb port ?
To do what?
To have iPad sound on channel 1 or 2 but not through RCA port . The idea is to use it as mixer for Djay iOS app for example and use the mixer as a sound card for my ipad. Other brands like Numark are compatibel iOs / Mac / windows
Maybe but it's not designed for that.
Would this work with virtual dj?
Don't believe it will
Seems like everything works with Virtual Dj8. I own VDJ8 and I’ve connected everything I own without a hiccup.
Yes, it's one of their "selling points". So what else do you like about Virtual DJ?
Is the DJM 450 worth the extra cash? Im debating between these 2!
It depends if you need the extra features.
Hello, its not compatible with Serato DJ? Works serato vinil time codes?
No, this mixer is not compatible with Serato DJ.
The Pioneer DJM S3 works with Serato DJ (if ya don't know by now).
Thinking of getting this with traktor x1 mk2
Nice, it's a sweet little mixer! :-)
Hi , Can I use Denon Ds1 with this mixer for Serato ?
I don't see why not
Good review. How do the phono preamps sound with straight vinyl? I mostly play wax and was looking for a nice little mixer, but being able to play DVS would be great too-just curious about how the sound quality with a plain jane turntable is.
Thanks! They’re decent and can be used for casual listening :)
Hello Onset Beats,
I have the same concern about sound quality with "Phono inputs". Just like you, I play only vinyls and I'm looking for a mixer to enter the DVS world. Did you end up buying it? How it sounds? Thanks
Not the best sound by any means
So, it has an audio interface compared to the mk1?
Yes and it's got Rekordbox DVS support :)
Can you record your mixes using this mixer?
Yes, you can record from the outputs analogue, there is no way of recording digitally from it though as it doesn't have a sound card.
I'm not sure about this as I am looking into a DVS system I currently have a controller with record box. I am however in two minds. I just bought this one. Just wished Pioneer would include the DVS vinyl pfff cost me an extra 30 EUR
Does this still have the mixer going into safe mode that the old one had?
I remember that on my 250. I can't say for sure but I would bet that this no longer happens. I couldn't find any reports of it on the internet - Christian
Digital DJ Tips i had 3 and each time on the road it would cut out and go into safe mode !
does this need an interface like rane-sl?
Hi Joey and everyone at the channel! Can you use this, with a simple turntable (and the Rekordbox DVS control vinyl) without a DDJ? Just for basic, basic scratching? And/or could you use it alongside a DDJ-SX? Thanks so much! Trying to figure out the best option for me.
Yes, you wouldn't use it alongside an SX - there's already a mixer on it
i'm still thinking if is a good idea to sell my z2 to pass on mixars duo or this mixer 250mk2 with DDJ-SP1
Let us know what you decide :-) This mixer here is great!
Hey!
If I were to use the DVS system and two time code vinyls, would I be able to quickly change to a real vinyl record or would this not be possible?
Hi Joe! Yes, you can. You would have to move the switch on the mixer over to phono though. :-)
Will it work on the Mac? Or the current version?
Works with Rekordbox DJ/DVS so it should :)
Cool. I want it, but I keep hearing it doesn't work on the Mac.
Nice stuff, keep the videos coming
Any comparable mixers that are Serato compatible?
Great video guys. First time watcher.
Najim Murray DJM S3.
can i use it with Pioneer CDJ 800 MK2 ?
Yes, of course :-)
can you show how to do it ? i have a old cdj 800 mk2. so it will be very helpful for me. thanks
I mean , Recordbox supports cdj 800 mk2 ?
Think you'll need timecode cds..
Is there a reason my NDX500 CDJs won't work with this mixer when connected via USB/Rekordbox? Just looking for help before returning. Very informative video - Liked & subbed
Not got any experience with those CDs I'm afraid, so I don't know.
The Circuit Bender, yes buddy it has post fader fx when using Rekordbox DJ.
On the upfaders yes. Not on the crossfader
Thanks for the review, you guys always nail it. I have a question let`s say i have a djm 250mk2 and two turntables and i use the dvs system. What else should i have to control the loops, hot cues and effects??
You're welcome, we're glad you found it useful :-) Have you had a look at Novation Dicers? You can find them on Amazon here: geni.us/dolH
How much price
US$380 (when we reviewed it)
Can I hear the aux input on the headphone?
You can't cue the aux input, no..
It's a pity! I think it missed this to be perfect or to have three channels... Anyway, thank you so much for your answer and congratulations for your UA-cam channel!!!
Thanks, Milton! :-)

Thanks for that information :-)
If I buy this Mixer I will get the software(Rekordbox DVS) include? Have a nice day! :)
Yes you will :)
Wish it was compatible with Serato DJ
Have you tried Rekordbox DJ yet? :) It's quite solid now
Digital DJ Tips I haven't I really like Serato DJ tho
Rocky Tulio The DJM S3 is compatible with Serato DJ (in-case ya don't know).
Dope! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Agreed seriously weak that they wouldn't have a booth out. The workaround is to take the other Master output and run it through a mini mixer where you can then route to a booth monitor and be able to adjust volume.

Nice workaround, thanks for sharing :-)
Any cheaper alternatives?

Proper piece of crap save your money and buy a proper mixer
Many people will certainly outgrow this quickly but it is an entry level bit of gear
