Bought this mixer with a couple of PLX-500 for my first DVS setup and I must say that the mixer is doing it's job very well. It dosen't bring much to the table, only the standard and most crucial that the DJ needs. Since I am just using DVS, I bought DDJ-SP1 for purpose of effects and smoother command of Rekordbox, and all the sudden you don't feel that you need a "bigger" mixer.

Please help, rekordbox doesnt recognize the djm on audio output Also when i connect the mixer to recordbox it only recognize the channel faders, any suggestions😕
Regarding the post fader effects, doesn't mean it's effectively a midi controller for the software. Are you sure the channel faders don't feed the USB outputs to the software? The software processes the audio and sends it back dirty...like a send and return.
Chris W That's kinda what I meant. It's not routing the audio directly in the same way the crossfader does, which is why you wouldn't want the crossfader to work in that way (latency).
Since I have an SL-3 can I just hook that up and still get the effects? Since the S3 is the same mixer but $150 more, I rather put that $150 elsewhere. Just looking for a mixer to replace my Vestax 05...yeah an 05. Matter of time that crossfader will break and won't be able to find a replacement, like my CFFV2.
I have the mixer, when I first got it I didn't realise how good it was, have a denon ds1 serato box, so almost identical set up as yours, the s3 doesn't have post fader efx , I also use mine with Rekordbox dvs as well, the pre amps and sound quality is awesome ... and the magvel fader is awesome

Mixars is no longer in operation last I heard so you'd be better of picking up the Pioneer shot for support down the line. The 250mk2 is decent and Rekbordbox is decent DJ software. They are late to the train as far as Stems goes, but I'm sure Pioneer is cooking up something as we speak. Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Sorry to bring up an old video. Can you explain how you record your mixes with this mixer? I've tried a lot of guides etc online and can't get it to work. Trying to record from the mixer with usb cable to laptop using rekordbox.

Great review on this mixer, I choose this over the 450 mk2 , I found I had more space simple! Which is very important if your mixer or scratch Dj, only thing I found and this rekordbox software, DVS on technics turntables is not accurate for mixing like serato Dj DVS , I'm not sure if pioneer just designed it for digital pitch pioneer turntables ? DVS works but you have to work more to lock the mix
I know it's been a long time, but I didn't found that issue with my 250 MK2. But one of the first things I had to do is calibrating manually the DVS, because the way it came was little precise (perhaps they prefer less accuracy than false tracking response because unwanted noises)

Does this mixer work with Serato DVS software? I need a cheap but good quality mixer mainly for vinyl phono mixing, but I will probably get some DVS software and control vinyls for Serato sometime later on. Will this be compatible with that or will I have to invest in a DJM-S9? Cheers.
@@DJTechnoboom Ok calm down... "Better" is completely subjective, and I honestly much prefer the UI of Serato. I think Rekordbox looks really ugly, the only good thing about it is your library is compatible with CDJs.

As a Serato user (SL2) Im looking for a new basic battle mixer. Would this work alongside serato dj? Also do the channel have a good curve setting?? Can u adjust that as wel?
@@DJWildstyle7997 it has more functionality but the sound of this mixer is way better than the scratch imo.... the scratch is not that well made in comparison, I've had issues with the right upfader after 3 months....
@@DJWildstyle7997 but the cuts are soft in DVS mode (because the internal mix from Serato, same problem as in the AMX*) and the Mini Innofader has too much dead space in some units... I'm afraid it isn't. It's a pitty Mixars is dead, perhaps could make a good job with the Gallileo in the Mk2. Besides what rjmn1 said. I didn't know that, but no surprise the upfaders are that bad. DJ Miyagi I wouldn't consider the AMX in any way similar. Sure, it's the ONLY option for Serato users outside of some 1500$ mixers, but it's still not a proper mixer.
@@Rickky007 I learned this the hard and depressing way. Now I have both because of it. I like how the DJM works with Rekordbox and a controller though....Good quality but sounds muddy if using vinyl and Phono ins.

Anyway My question It says it comes with PC Software But there is no CD with software delivered with it . Was there a cd rom when you bought this ?

Why people love pioneer! The baddest sound I’ve ever heard! Fuck the digital eq it’s like digital clipping, no warmth, music felling is complete loose! Low eq ? Where is the punch? Digital damage sound!
I bought Pioneer DJM 250mkII after his review and I wish he would of mentioned more about how the Phono Preamps are of low quality. I can't mix Rekordbox DVS with my vinyl collection - (Mix from digital to analogue and back without noticing quality drop), sadly =(

What surprised me is that it sounds so good. A massive step up on my slightly tinny old Vestax 2-channel.
Traktor DVS supports this mixer with version 2.11.3 of Traktor Pro. It's awesome this mixer works with Traktor DVS!

Ave Mcree Rekordbox DJ uses a similar frequency tone to Serato so it 'kind of' works but you get mad cue point drifting. Not recommended.

Brandon O'Dell used both. They both have similar features but the pioneer has a better crossfade in my opinion. Cut in is way tighter

Nice mixer but not very good phono preamp. Do not buy this mixer if you want to mix with vinyl.
