The ACH and ECH are very different. ACH is made of Kevlar and can defend reliably against pistol rounds. ECH is made of UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) and the shell is much thicker than the ACH. Additionally, the ECH is capable of stopping 7.62x54r at close range (20ft). ACH and ECH are not interchange terms. Lastly, without the ballistic applique, the IHPS base helmet shell provides much less protection than the ECH as shown by a ballistic test done by Oxide here on UA-cam even though the IHPS is also made of UHMWPE.
The two clips on the bottom of the IHPS NVG shroud break very easily and cause mounts to be wobbly with NVG's. It's a good helmet overall though aside from it not being ideal to jump.
The IHPS unfortunately isn’t readily jumpable- the NVG mount and front of the bungee need to be taped up prior to jumping, also there have been issues with the chinstrap popping out from the shell on exit
Bastabro Productions they don’t really pop up often. But when they do they are $1500+. And I only ever saw 2 helmets for sale. They are being put circulation right now in the army so there aren’t a lot I the market nevertheless I’m our own soldiers hands so... if you find one and got the money and really want it you can get one. Just need some patience. Hope this helped and Godless!
is this going to be the new standard issued helmet? if so when will it be in full service. i saw the full faced helmets that are supposed to be coming out this year, i get out of high school in 22, i wanna know what they're gonna give me
aniro from what I’ve seen right now is it’s only issued to deployed troops. But by ‘22 they should be largely in circulation but there will be older helmets in use. Hope this helped man Godbless!
@Agent 15 I don’t really know for sure but I’ve heard that some units allow you to wear certain helmets other than your standard issued ones ex. a ops core bump helmet. But it’s very rare to use your own helmet at all. You need a green light from your higher ups and even then you still can’t use any other ballistic helmet other than the one you’re issued for combat and stuff. But that’s just what I’ve heard and I don’t really know if you can or can’t but it’s more probable that you’re not able to wear your own helmets.
If your graduating in 2022 you will likely get issued the IHPS if you plan on going into and airborne/air assault unit or just any unit that isn’t regular infantry.
Can't speak for most combat arms but in 11th eng in Korea 2022 we still get the old ach and gen 2 iotv even in a CEC. As a pog you are going to have all the old stuff no matter what, usually airborne and units that see lots of deployments get newer and better gear.
If you're talking about mounting the baseplate, the IHPS comes with it pre-installed at the factory, whereas with the ACH and ECH you attach it to the front of the helmet using ballistic screws and nuts threaded through pre-made holes. If you mean attaching the NVG's themselves, the goggles are connected to swing arms which mount onto the baseplates.

When you get the plate carrier and the battle belt can you make a video on it?
Is there any information on the new Army plate carrier?
Hope I get a chance to try one of these before my time in the Army is up.

Are there any videos showing how to tape and secure the helmet?
@@MollyTheLag our current CAASOP says essentially to duct tape over the entire NVG bracket and up over the buckle of bungee

@@thegoodnewsguy1315 I'll buy your helmets rails off of you, mine don't have em lol.
Yair Gonzalez I would if I had ,didn’t get any either! 🤣🤣 Sorry man.
Would the IHPS be classified as a mid cut?
kinda wondering what its made out of and where can you actually buy it besides ebay
3M also makes another version not specific to US Army contract but its the exact same thing called 3M F70 Helmet

Throw it on the scale
You know any sites that sell rail systems for the IHSP? Or chin straps
I found the chin strap on eBay
I’m trying to find a chin strap buckle for the right side if anyone knows lmk
You run the Peltors from the rail or under the helmet?
Austin Freund under
Austin Freund I think
Under, unfortunately you can't use them on the rail as far as ik.
Noice
Between the two which one weights less?
How did you secure your helmet band wit the 550? I’m trynna do the same but my mind isn’t fully developed so I was googling it before I did anything
Square knot or opposing over hand, girth hitch the helmet band then tighten the bolt around the knot. Hope this helps
Where do you recommend I get my helmet cover for the ACH?
Is the IHSP 7.62×39 rated like the ECH?
it will stop the round but the bfd will either kill you or make you a vegetable
It's made of the same material, so I don't see why not.

It’s a bitch to get those rail kits on the helmet properly
Jackson Deborah Williams Robert Anderson Charles
How do you put night vision on those

Any Idea where to get the IHPS?
Trash... Communication is everything in battle, and those helmets don’t support comms if at all.
You can wear a communications headset under the IHPS just as soldiers did under the ACH and ECH.
I actually run my peltors under my ihps. And they fit PHENOMENALLY. Unlike with the ech/ach.
