Oh boy. You find Tool. Buckle up boy. You're in for the ride. And remember, each songs is a journey. You can't choose your favorite. Tool band is very technical with their music.
Tool is so very intricate and so very good that you can listen to a song dozens of times and still find new things you hadn't noticed before. This is a journey well worth taking, and I'm happy to Subscribe to watch that trip.
@@michellez1414 There’s an understandable reason for this. A lot of people are mostly listening to relatively new songs. So that has conditioned them into thinking the age of the UA-cam video is reliably the same as the release date.
@@se777en73120 All the reactors I see are listening to old songs. My thinking is...if you have a UA-cam channel and are posting videos, you'd get the clue.
If you like that scream, definitely check out the grudge, also by Tool. Other solid songs from Tool i highly recommend to react to: Pneuma (studio version and drum cam version), Sober, lateralus, wings for Marie 1&2 (MUST listen to them back to back), Parabol/Parabola (also a back to back listen), schism, fear inoculum, descending, right in two, vicarious. Really all of them but those are personal favorites haha
You totally need to listen to more Tool- they're amazing and I think you'll enjoy the ride. As others have mentioned, skip their official videos and just pull up lyrics. I suggest Right in Two, 46 and 2, Eulogy, Lateralus and definitely don't miss the live drum cam of Pneuma - their drummer Danny Carey is unbelievable.
Seriously, man. Four MASTERS of what they do. Complex and beautiful. Drummer Danny is the best of all time. They don’t fit into any genre… the genre is TOOL. One of a kind.
Def check out more tool. As someone else said, watch the lyrics vids instead of the official. The official videos are amazing but it is easy to get lost in the visuals. The Pot is one of my favorites, never gets old. It is about the hypocrisy of judges, lawyers and juries convicting people of smoking pot when everyone knows they do it too. Go Birds!
I wondered when you were going to hear some Tool. I have been listening to them since the 90's, and to give you a point of reference, they often remind me of Pink Floyd, and we know how you love some Floyd, so I reckon you will enjoy a bit of a trip down Tool St 😊.
lol...I enjoy seeing reactions to first-time listeners of Tool. Maynard Keenan said that The Pot is probably the song to start with when trying out Tool for the first time. I myself started out with Aenima...but, there you go. And, just as a quick aside, when he mentions 'kangaroo' he's referring to a "Kangaroo Court" -- something used WAY back when England exiled its worst of the worst of the worst to Australia as a penal colony. The term "kangaroo court" became synonymous with the show-trials for the convicted (most of them hanged anyway); and it means a court hearing in which the outcome had already been predetermined and decided without due process (incidentally, Due Process is in our Bill of Rights Fifth Amendment, which exists nowhere else on the planet; even now, no other country anywhere has a Bill of Rights...i.e., basic human rights). Anyway, Australia started out as a penal colony, but the Brits had to maintain some semblance/appearance of adhering to some law, somewhere, and, thus: Kangaroo Court. I hope you check out other Tool greats, such as: 46 and 2; The Grudge; Parabola; Invincible...just to name a few. Best wishes!! I forgot to point out that that kinda wah-wah sounding guitar is Justin Chancellor on bass guitar. Not the lead...
@Chauncy71: Saw Tool at The Gorge, Wa. and remembered all of my concert manners when I ran back from the porta-potty because I could hear them start, and I had great seats. I get to the stairway down and it is 10 thick covering the entrance down. At 50(ish) I somehow managed to move aside so many big strong people and I don’t know how. As I scooched my way through, they were telling ME to shoosh. Tool- you have a great impact!
You HAVE to watch the live performance of Sober!!! Tis a must🥰There’s also a clip from a concert where a douche jumps on stage. Being a jujitsu master he pinned this guy in a hold and kept singing WITHOUT MISSING A NOTE! Maynard is a one of a kind genius. The whole band is on a level all their own🥰😳🖤
Here for your Tool journey! As others have said: - Don't watch official videos on first listen (amazing, but very distracting) - Have lyrics pulled up (either separately, or find a song vid w lyrics) - Certain songs should be experienced together, e.g. Parabol and Parabola, with no break between... if a commenter suggests that, heed their advice - You are in for one helluva ride... buckle in, and spiral out!
You'll like Tool man. I'm a long time hip hop head but metal and bands like Tool are fire too. If you check out more of their stuff, I suggest just the lyric videos. Their Official videos are awesome but very distracting. The art work is alot. Disturbing and weird but cool as shit man.
OOOOOOOH im subbing now if youre really dipping your toe in "the pot" for tool. Keep it going, youre in for a fuckin ride. Parabola is one of my favorites.
If you have a pulse? And you DONT! know who Maynard is? Who TOOL Is? APC?... Like, Where have you been? It's like asking, Beatles? Twoo PaCk? Ren DmT? ... C'mon! ... haha Joking with you! I really DID like the video! Keep it up! I suggest some Corey Taylor tracks!
I always find this an odd choice for a gateway song to T00L for reactors, and would choose instead something like Stinkfist etc., but....I used to smoke a lotta' Crack to this song, so...however you gotta' find it, I guess. 🤷
@@JusticeServso the reason for that is tool didnt release thier music on streaming platforms for years. It wasnt until 2019 i think that they released all thier music on spotify itunes ect.

Why don't reactors GET THIS? I see it so often and it's utterly baffling.

What bothers me more is ppl uploading old videos with the title or thumbnail saying breaking news.
31+ year listener, and they are the best band of my lifetime! Wait till you hear their discography, you'll be blown away! #Toolforever
You have no idea the path you've just unlocked....but will you take it? Experience. Transcend. Spiral Out!! Nothing better than a growing army.

After you go down the Tool rabbit hole give anything by Mike Patton a chance I recommend starting with Tomahawk God Hates a Coward live version.
I just found out there using Rick James old equipment

Please watch Danny Carey Pneuma video 🌀🌀
You even check the lyrics?
I can't subscribe to an Eagles fan. Sorry. I'll rock out with you though.
