Should find a way to deck mount your GoPro- with ability to point both forward and aft. Would have loved to seen the wrestling match with the jib. Anyways, you guys are killing it, thanks for taking us along.
I actually have a couple of mounts and I could do that. My problem is actually not that it is that I do not have the ability to keep the batteries charged. Those GoPro batteries run out so fast. It really is too bad that I can’t just hardwire a couple of little Cameras on the boat with the footage feeding to a hard drive. That would be ideal, but alas, I don’t even have enough money to buy a new GoPro lol
I have looked for the green flash for years and years and never seen it, but I have some friends who I trust who have told me that they have seen it so I know that it does happen!
In a future video, can you show us the difference in the sails. You might have to clip videos, but it would actually help me understand what you are talking about.
That’s a good idea! We manage to get a roller furler (allows the headsail to roll up on the headstay. ) so I will be purchasing a new sail for that so we will no longer have all of those different ones. I will tell you right now that Bertha, the drifter, is the big red and white one. Candy, the working jib, is the red one with the lines hanging down on it. Baby, the little white one, is the one you see in most of the shots the little sail up front. Stormy, is one that I haven’t actually ever used yet it is smaller than baby and orange and it is only used for nasty, nasty weather.
Squall after squall after squall it was very frustrating. I did get to yell out, “It’s just a squall! They come on you fast! They leave you fast!” More times than Norman would like to admit.🤣🤣🤣
A Halo or Lunar arc is a fairly common meteorological phenomenon and has a meaning: Surely there will be rain, synonymous with bad weather, but what bad weather would this be? That is the little gift of the Lunar Halo, its interpretation when you see it, it immediately begins monitoring the barometer every two hours, if it remains stable there will only be rain 🌧️ if it drops AT LEAST 10 mb points below 1013 mb ¡Hold on Catalina! 🌬️🌊🌧️
Cool! really like the view at 3:18 where you can see forward and get the ocean too. Feels like I'm along for the ride.
Thank you Aaron! I’ll try to catch more shots of that for you!

Great episode...what you are doing half scares me and half motivates me - wonderful sound track to Topher - thanks !
You can do it! Throw off the dock lines! Thanks for watching!
Awesome moonbow! Have you seen the green flash at sunset yet? I have never had the privilege. Safe travels 🙏

There is the Mig Crew! Looks like you ran into a bunch of squalls? Don't let the gloomy weather make the crew gloomy.
