One of the most underrated Genesis songs! 🔥 Such a shame they never performed this one on the tours
Absolute awesome drumming from Nir Zidkyahu!
Outstanding ending for a legendary discography. Very grateful to know all Genesis eras and being able to enjoy each track they have left for us. It's truly a musical gift ❤
Great album and great track. Ray is a fantastic singer!!!
I Don't Understand Why Genesis Won't Continue The Band With This Singer, This Is A Great And Underated Album
One of the most underrated tracks and in general, the most underrated album. An album that deserves a lot more recognition for all that it is. What a way to end off the premieres every Friday, and what an album to end off my birthday, on the 19th of April, alongside my twin brother @E.D who played it. Premieres like no other, filled with tracks, that not only touches your heart with its music, but through its lyrics as well. What a way to end it off & what a journey its been from all of us who watched all there premieres and commented on it since day 1, just like @E.D 💙💙💙👑🐐🥳
Once again I agree. Perhaps in the future this album will get the recognition it deserves.
Wishing success for my favourite band! I do love you, Genesis! ❤️🎼🎶
It is a rare thing to find an album where not only is every song amazing, beautifully sung and has depth and character, but also the way the tracks are layered and ordered. This is one of those times.
Possibly the best track on a fine album.
I’ll always defend this album. One of the greatest of the 1990’s in the pop music world. I’ve listen dozens of time to it and still listen to it with a sheer pleasure. It’s got such a special and subtile feeling. Ray Wilson nailed it. I had the chance to discover Genesis when I was around 13 with Invisble Touch, and at the same age I discovered their older stuff. So there’s no dilemma for me between Phil Collins era or Peter Gabriel era. When Calling All Stations came out I was 24 and I loved it right away, and I’ve been loving it for more than 25 years now.
I bought this album on 9/1/97, the day it was released in the U.S. I still have it, and I still play it frequently. I was 26 when this came out, and I just turned 53.
That's how it was.
What a way to end the album, in general, the album deserves more credit than it deserves, instead of just the instant hate for it. Wilson, did his best, to fit the shoes of Genesis' lead singer, and regardless, thats challenging for anyone, espically replacting the great Phil Collins. A truly underrated album, It was my birthday yesterday, and I wasn't shy to include these tracks in them, to me no matter what era, Genesis, is still Genesis. All the best legends.
Very few people gave it a fair chance, especially the Americans, who just didn't want to know. I made myself listen to it over and over until I knew every song inside out, and I grew to love it deeply. It's not quite 'classic Genesis', but it comes very close. A further album with this line-up would have been very interesting.
I enjoy it alot. Great for a rainy sunday. If other people think it sucks that's really no hair off my back. My brother always made fun of me for "digging" this album. While i still to this day make fun of him for liking "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" by Pink Floyd.
We all have our own tastes.
Ray Wilson absolutely stunning! What a voice!!! Sorry Phil, you were great but Ray is pure delight!!
An excellent Genesis album and Ray Wilson is a superb singer and songwriter, check out his fantastic solo albums
This album deserves to be considered at the same level of magnificence as the rest of the Genesis catalog.
come on ..........................
I love this album !
no
Yeah no. How about no I mean respectfully it's surely yes over and above a majority of the crap they put out of the radio nowadays. But it's so evidently obviously not the work that would have come out during the with Phil Collins Arrow. You can tell mostly record was computer-generated or Canada. I don't disrespect it it's very very great anything that Tony and Company do with great. But you can hardly hear Mike's guitar work. And again the drumming is just completely computer-generated. And so no it's definitely not real remotely up to par with their past stuff - you might notice they didn't exactly run around doing two and three more records with these singers did they?
Sir Irwin. I do agree 100%
💜💜💜💜 love this song 💜💜💜💜
There's an evident Howard Jones arome in the first half ... I love it... I love all Genesis works and history ... so I'm very happy i molt afortunat de disfrutar-ho tot, sense reserves ... ❤
we’ve made it fellas. the end of genesis (no pun intended)
Just thank the fates that we were here to witness it first hand! There will never be another band to equal them.
HERE THEY MADE 2 SONGS IN 1!Awsome close to th album!
Ray Wilson has a great voice!
Love it
overslept album
back then i bought it right away because i liked the sound of "congo"
and the album was so much deeper that the cover
i am amazed how many people praise the album today :)
I thought Peter Gabriel’s and Phil Collins’ singing voices were very similar, but Ray has an awesome voice and we still hear the same drums, keyboards and guitar sounds that makes Genesis so unique and one of the best bands ever (to me “the best band ever lol).
This was a respectable album and being a lifelong Genesis fan, it irritates me that many fans glaze over this album Ike it never happened.
This track is one of the best, at first i didn't get it but over time i learned to enjoy it, i particularly like the changes, how it gets stronger as time passes. I have to add that i listen to it more than the other ones lately.
Lastly, this is the last song in the album, we ended up finishing this journey at this date of April 21st of 2023, when this started i predicted at the end of march, wich is pretty interesting because i was hospitalized at that time, but anyways, my prediction was incorrect because Genesis replaced some of those weeks with trailers for The Last Domino tour, so after that i predicted the 14th of April and something else happened that it ended up a week later, not a hard thing to predict though, but i thought it was interesting.
Now what's next? B-sides?
We made it indeed! This journey started in June 2020. Wow! If they're going to continue, I have a feeling that they'll go with the live albums next. Good question though.
B-sides would be great. Also early singles that never made it onto an album.
Schimnesthai Nice commentary ! I can watch your funny and quite foolish videos. What’s next ? Pigeons ? 😊 (I love this track so unique in Genesis’ history).
Hearing this again after a very long time, I seem to recall this being a favorite of mine on the album. One think that struck me is how Nir Zidkyahu recreates Phil Collins’ drum sound on this track. I was also trying to think back how I felt after hearing this album for the first time, since this was the last track. I will say that it would have been interesting to see this lineup live, but it wasn’t to be in America.
I was fortunate to see them live back then. It was a really good show. Ray made many of the older songs his own and gave them a slightly different direction. As I see it, it's a shame that he didn't get the chance to do at least one more album with the guys.
@@iReadBooks thanks for sharing that
It's the first time I listen to this song and I'll dig into the whole album. You're a right, the drums sound like Phil's drums on "We Can't Dance".
Genesis é eterno.
Dawg, this is one of Phil's best. I've been listening to genesis since I was a kid through the 90's. (Thanks to mein pops) I absolutely love this band. ^-^
Except for the fact that Phil doesn't play on this album...
It seems like you appreciate irony.
que este canal no muera y que sigan subiendo material
Los álbumes en vivo o los shows 😭
The ride cymbals from 7.40 set the hairs rising on the back of my neck. Superb!
Genesis отличная группа.
Nice beat
He can do anything He WANTSas we have a choice its worth it to live
This is a great way for me to understand how greatly I had no idea how much I didn't know how good it is..
Love this song
Lyrics to this Genesis track;
As the buildings crumble, tumble to the ground
And the dust-filled smoke rises in the air
You know that somebody somewhere looks with pride, they're satisfied
To all who think they know
To everyone that knows that they're right
D'you ever wonder why
D'you never ask the question even in the depths of night?
Now as the daylight fading ends another day
For too many life will never be the same
And it is all for the reason they will never understand
To all who think they know
To everyone that knows that they're right
D'you ever wonder why
D'you never ask the question even in the depths of night?
And on the morning after do you realize
See the ruined faces and the ruined lives
Inside your head do you never have the thought a moment of doubt?
To all who think they know
To everyone that knows that they're right
D'you ever wonder why
D'you never ask the question even in the depths of night?
There are only dreams one like any other
What means the earth to one or few means nothing to another
There are only dreams like any other
Drawing lines upon the sand, on the land, on the sea
Then dying to defend them seems quite meaningless to me
Don't you know what means the earth to some or only one
Can mean just nothing nothing nothing to another
There are only dreams like any other
There are only differences, worth living but not dying for
One man's joy makes another man weep
Nothing you can do is ever gonna change it
One man's saint is another man's fool
One man's hot is another man's cool
And when the war is over, won
Will there be peace for evermore?
Statues carved right out of stone, out of wood, made from gold
Praying for their mercy that won't save their souls
Don't you know what means the earth to some or only one
Can mean just nothing nothing nothing to another
There are only dreams like any other
There are only hopes and beliefs one like any other (there are only dreams like any other)
Worth living but not dying for
Living but not dying for not killing for
There are only dreams like any other like any other
To all of those who think that they know
All I can say yes all I can say
One man's joy makes another man weep
Nothing you can do is ever gonna change it
One man's saint is another man's fool
One man's hot is another man's cool
There are only dreams like any other
There are only hopes and beliefs, one like any other
There are only dreams like any other

Premonitory song of the 2001/09/11 event😮
@@miguelecheverria2266Tony Banks noted that it could be retrospectively seen that was but was originally inspired by a bombing in Manchester, England.
Live Over Europe should be next!🎸🎶♥️
I had the pleasure of listening to Phil Collins at a very young age, whose music I fell in love with
Wonderful album, a great return to form
Genesis are one of the few bands that never lost their form. WCD is a brilliant album. They never released a bad one. Their internal quality control was impeccable.
Cuando salio este album corri a compar o vaya sorpresa Le cambio la voz a Phil Collins Pero GENESIS es un grupo espectacular y Ray tambien
Underrated brilliance. Still.
❤ u Genesis....👍👍
❤️🌹❤️
It is the end.... but the moment has been prepared for.
The end of something uniquely brilliant.
🇲🇽🇲🇽
I personally really like the album. I would have liked to hear another with Ray on vocals and having maybe some writing input to a new album
Хороший текст!!! Good work, thanks!
This is not music this is a masterpiece and its lyrics sound like a premonition about the 11th september 2001 attacks.
Fantásticos
Genial disco

Ficou incrível demais
th very last Genesis song, sadly :( can’t wait to see what this channel will post after this, hopefully more great stuff
A very fine finale.

Next to There must be some other way and Calling all Stations itself best track on the entire album. Second half is so outstanding, a perfect way to finish this great underrated album.
❤😊❤
Collins never could not sing like Ray does.
yeah, cause Collins sings better
@@shogunspear9739 WILSON, s and collins, s voices are forever in our hearts!
🤩🙂
UAUUUUUUUUU SHOWWWWWW TOPPPPPPPPP LINDAS MÚSICAS 🎧🎶🎵🎼🎶🎵🎼🎶🎵🎼🎶🎶🎵🎶🎼👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍♥️
One singer like Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins, or Fish (Marillion) is so necessary.
❤❤❤❤🎉😮😅😊

This song sounds very much akin to “Why Me?” From Mike and the Mechanics (1988) due to its similar theme of uncertainty and dangerous times.
It just wasn't the same after Phil left the group and continued with his solo career.
Started the band with the sour turns sweet and ended with one man’s fool
The End
I love this song so much. Someone understand the Last words ? (They are not in the booklet).
Huh - good catch! Probably Ray improvising on previous verses. I can't quite make it out either.
I always heard it as "don't need your reasons" 🤷🏼
Thank you for this song. I look forward for a time without war and without tears. 🌿📖 Book of revelation, chapter 21, Bible
Vers 4 ' And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore. ' May the Lord bless and protect you 💛🙏⚘

Red, red blood goes to my head
Makes me Not forget that I still need you (god) so
Red, red blood, it's up to you
All I can do I've done
Memories won't go, memories won't go
I'd have sworn that with time
Thoughts of you leave my head
I was wrong, now I find
Just one thing makes me Not forget
Red, red blood, stay (God) close to me
Don't let me be alone
It's tearing apart my blue heart
I'd have sworn that with time
Thoughts of you leave my head
I was wrong, now I find
Just one thing makes me Not forget
Red, red heart, stay close to me
Don't let me be alone
It's tearing apart my blue heart
Red red heart, you make me feel so fine
You keep me rockin' all of the time
Red red heart, you make me feel so grand
I feel a million dollar when you're just in my Hand
Red red heart, you make me feel so sad
Any time I see you go, it make me feel bad
Red red heart, I'm gonna hold on to you
Hold on to you 'cause I know yuh love truth
Red red heart, I'm gonna love you til' I die
Love you 'til I die, and that's no lie
Red red heart, can't get you out mi mind
Wherever you may be, I'll surely find
Genuine, and I know WE can Win!
Love you 'til I die, and that's no lie
I heard genuwine, When doves cry!

The songs are good, but it sounds not like Genesis, if listening anywhere, when ever, I never would think, that this is Genesis !
1. I’m imagining Phil singing this. 2. Why are they using the same Phil Collins effects on the drums?
The album was never as bad as some made out & apart from a couple of duffers it's a great Genesis album..... Dump Alien Afternoon & Small Talk for just about any of the CD Single extra tracks & this would have been a lot better.
Alien Afternoon is one of the best tracks on it, and was a highlight of the live shows.
5:59 Jehovah knows how to saves those who will live and the chaff will blow away
sorry, is the phrase you wrote found in this song? Thank you
@lesliehilesgardener6959 Sorry, can I ask you where this quote is found?
POV: you searched up on how Genesis Rodriguez got her name. 😂😂😂
First listen after blanking them when they became Phil's backing group. What's all the bitching about? It's a great Album with brilliant production... Wilson 'note perfect'. OK it's different... What do people expect?
Okay. And so dear God Lord in heaven. Was I wrong if you will. Wait until the end of this song. I guess I'm not going to lie to you it's probably been 10-20 years since they listen to the record all the way through probably when I first purchased it. I have the disc in my booklet certainly. Just don't tend to play it all that often. This track kicked a lot of ass it start out incredibly slow and lame and I was very critical of it. And then it picked up and got really awesome at the end. Very great bass guitar sounding and Powerful drumming even if it is canned and computerized
Nir Zidkyahu is NOT "canned and computerized"!!
@@BoBo0807 😂😂😂😂😂
The album is far from perfect but this is a fantastic closer
Even genesis’s worst album is good.
Sorry being a fan since The Lamb and seeing Genesis from 1976-2007 except during this period I personally don't consider this Genesis
Tony wrote the lyrics to "One Man's Fool", he wrote them about the IRA bomb attack in Manchester in 1996.
"If anybody hears it now, they would assume that that lyric was referring to the bombing of the Twin Towers, but it wasn't. It was written four years before, and yet it sounds like we were recalling that. I was actually writing about a bomb attack in Manchester, in England, which was done by the IRA at the time, and the idea that people carry out these attacks and did they really believe that, all the destruction, that it really is worth it? But, it still works, unfortunately, because we have this kind of terrorism still out there.
"I was quite proud of the lyric when I wrote it, and because the album wasn't a great success, it's probably got a bit lost. But, it's a lyric worth listening to, I think."
-Tony Banks in an interview with Songfacts from 2018 - www.songfacts.com/blog/interviews/tony-banks
It is well worth listening to, it is a great reflection on the lack of human conscience.
Unfortunately the theme of this track is timeless.
It's one of the best lyrics he ever wrote, and he wrote many fantastic ones. A great thing about Genesis is that the songs actually mean something. Unlike a lot of so-called 'prog' which has words about pretentious nonsense that ultimately means nothing.
@@inglepropnoosegarm7801 Yes one of his best lyrics with « Water out of Wine » on the « Still » album and « Seven Stones ».
