i sang and played lavender for my dying dog. the "a penny for your thoughts my dear" part made me cry because she could not recognize anyone anymore. she died seconds after the my poor performance ended, but i hope she'll remember. wherever she is.

This always reminds me of times when I was sitting with a good friend in her room, smoking cigarettes, drinking wine, talking for hours. It was in the 90s, there was just friendship and music and dancing, we were young and wild and free.... We loved The Cure, U2, Depeche Mode, The Police and Albums like this. Oh, and the new stuff that came out: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden. What a great time to be young, I am very thankful for that. Makes me very emotional today.

Why did I not discover Marillion when this released. This album stands the test of time . Amazing album . After now ordering the 2017 remaster this will now take centre stage in my CD player. Just Musical perfection.
The bass work on these songs is ridiculously good. As is the entire recording. One of the best sounds I have heard. Had this on vinyl and it was heavenly.
