    Hello Doctor, I greatly appreciate your videos and information.
    I had bilateral inguinal hernia laparoscopic repair 9 days ago, I had incisional pain for the first 4-5 days but then suddenly on day 7 I began having inguinal pain on the right side, right besides the base of the penile shaft. The pain is kinda sharp and I'm worried about it. Is it normal to have pain in the groin 9 days after laparoscopic hernia repair? Could it be the mesh and peritoneum healing?
    No problem if you can't respond, thank you so much for all your work and information.

      Federico, Having sharp pains and other symptoms is extremely common after any surgery, including hernia surgery. Over the coming weeks/months those pains often resolve and go away. Best, CAHS

    Hello Doctor,
    I had a big incisional hernia repair surgery done on September, 2021. It was coming from 3 major past surgeries performed to my abdomen. I am feeling ok and and have no pain since the operation. However
    I have a huge bulge in my incisional operation site. I feel no pain, but feel heavy and uncomfortable in that bulge area. My Doctor told me fats are mainly responsible for those bulge area and because of the no of past surgeries i feel uncomfortable in that site. Do you have any thoughts on this?

      Musa, It would be difficult to provide an opinion without being able to examine the area and/or look at CAT scan imaging. We hope that you begin to feel better soon, CAHS

    What are your thoughts on the odds of nerve entrapment which causes testicular pain in males after inguinal hernia repair? (It seems common)

    • @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists
      @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists  2 роки тому

      Walid, Chronic testicular pain after an inguinal hernia repair is very rare. Having chronic groin pain after a hernia repair is more common although still rare at approximately 1-3% of patients. Best, CAHS

      @@CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists thank you for your reply. what made think that was researches that show double digit odds of chronic pain. Example: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6754000/ does the 1-3% you're stating represents your clinic data or is it a representation from a different research?

    Hello doc
    I had gone through open surgery for igunal hernia on October 2021. I still have a small lumps above my testicals. Is it normal? Also I have a small ball like lumps on the surgery cut area. What is that?

    • @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists
      @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists  2 роки тому

      Anil, Some patients develop small seromas, or fluid collections, after their hernia repairs. These typically get smaller and often resolve with time, but some persist. Fortunately it's very rare for them to cause pain or symptoms which require their treatment. Best, CAHS

    Which of your patients had a better outcome over all The open surgery patients or the laproscopic patients?

    • @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists
      @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists  11 місяців тому

      Both open and laparoscopic surgery are excellent choices with similar outcomes over the long term. Laparoscopic surgery tends to be less invasive and some patients have less pain after surgery.

      Manish, Ongoing pains after hernia surgery can be difficult to diagnose and sometimes difficult to treat. Pain specialists who can perform nerve injections are usually the best place to start. Best, CAHS
