    One of the best human beings ever alive. I've been very very scared about mesh complications(like mesh migration, perforation etc.)and hernia recurrence due toheavy exercises after my hernia mesh repair but after watching this man's videos I totally feel confidant about returning to my active lifestyle and doing the workouts I loved to do before my hernia. Thank You Dr., so thankful🙏

    After a failed surgery in Montana, and a second surgery to repair that one, you were invaluable to me when I was worried about a large lump months after surgery. My surgeon was unavailable to me to answer my questions, but you answered them for me online, and you were exactly right. My second surgeon was good, but has recently retired. Should I need another I will certainly fly to have you do it. I am still very grateful for your kind response when I needed it. Congratulations on the award!

      Rik mac, There are different reasons why mesh is utilized during hernia repairs. You can learn more on our website and with this UA-cam video: ua-cam.com/video/vKEXeXRJs-w/v-deo.html. We hope that helps, CAHS

    Dr...I'm going to ask an odd question, If you have the time to reply I'd be extremely grateful. 10 years ago I had 3 very tiny (no bulge) hernias. Most surgeons said they didn't see them on the CT scan. Dr. Towfigh, who I'm sure you might know, saw them on the same CT scan and fixed them with a large piece of mesh. I had bilateral indirect inguinal hernias and one femoral. All 3 only contained fat. For years I had no problems and now am having deep, deep burning pain 24/7 and fluid leaking from a sinus track. I am actually having it removed in a month at Cleveland Clinic by a surgeon who specializes in removal of mesh. My question is....all this time my feet and bottoms of my legs have been stinging and feeling numb. Is it possible for the mesh or tacks to be pressing on any major nerves or major blood vessels that run down the legs? I cannot figure it out. I had my A1c tested and it was good, my b12 was good. I don't have any back pain. So I'm now starting to wonder if it's the mesh pressing on something?

      Erin, It sounds like you are on the right track being treated with the doctors a the CC. It would be difficult for us to provide more insight than they already have by examining you in person. All the best in your surgery, We're sure Dr. Krpata and his team will take good care of you, CAHS

      Lumbar hernias are rare but are certainly seen by surgeons infrequently.

    Any idea if recovery is the same or more complicated with a right inguinal hernia and they found an Obturator hernia, I'm 37 male.

    Hello doctor , congratulation on Ur achievements . My mother will be under going hernia surgery ,which she had undergone before ,approx 10 years back . So really confused whether she should go for open surgery or laproscopy. Also how can I contact you ,so I can send u her reports . Will be really grateful for Ur kind suggestions. Thank you♥️

      Ayesha, Thank you for your comments. Unfortunately deciding on open versus laparoscopic surgery is not something that can be done that easily. It would be a decision that has to be made directly with your surgeon. We wish your mother the best in her upcoming surgery and her recovery. Best, CAHS

    I must have been one of the early ones because I had a bad outcome with worse quality of life since. I had a hernia surgery in 2013. Doc said it’d be 3 days and I’d be back to work. 20 days later and I was still unable to work, could hardly sit up and was insanely bloated. Since then I have been able to do less now than I could before the surgery with the hernia- it always feels like I need to pee and my penis is partially numb. I could go on and on about the negative effects but suffice to say that I was a young, athletic 27 year old and lost a lot by doing that surgery. I sincerely regret having it. I truly was better off not getting one here.

    Hey doctor, I was told I had a small hernia I do have discomfort on my right groin and as well as the left side but nothing coming out but I can’t afford the surgery what can I do ?

    • @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists
      @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists  3 роки тому

      Jacuelastday, Hernias do not have to be repaired emergently in most cases and some hernias never need to be repaired. For patients with pain and discomfort, surgery is usually recommended. Best, CAHS

    I had an open hiatus hernia surgery which went wrong,now I have a large incisional hernia and umbilical cord hernia plus hiatus hernia also opened ,am advised to still.do gastric bypass, all this on open surgery on the same day kindly advice doctor

    • @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists
      @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists  3 роки тому +1

      Naomi, We're sorry to hear about your situation. We don't perform gastric bypass or hiatal hernia repairs so it would be difficult for us to comment on whether they can be performed at the same time. Repairing an umbilical hernia at the same time would be very easy and reasonable. Best, CAHS

    My doctor thinks I have an inguinal hernia . No bulge and ct and ultrasound showed nothing . Ache bloated feeling lower left groin area . So confused and scared what to do ... He recommended laparoscopic surgery with mesh. Thank you for your time !

    • @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists
      @CaliforniaHerniaSpecialists  3 роки тому

      Woodsrun1412, Having a bulge and/or imaging like CT and ultrasound are usually very helpful in diagnosing, or ruling out, a hernia. Having no bulge and negative imaging would suggest that symptoms might be coming from another issue rather than a hernia. Best, CAHS

      Just one question, which hernia truss or belt is the best for a left inguinal hernia? Which one is the best for safely delaying surgery on the left side?
