Robins mild annoyance towards his good will for not having better stuff is still funny XD.
He has an Arc thrift store. They're actually not bad at all.
if he donates his cool stuff , then they will have cool stuff.
@@DogFish-NZ If it rains, it is wet outside.
I tell you, goodwills in Colorado Springs suck
Im sorry, but did i just get pinned? By emkay? I know im not dreaming cause i just woke up but huh? Cool :D
good to see Robin looking at a subreddit that isnt actively depressing
Hope he’s doing alright
He's said himself he's okay with doing angry subreddits because it's cathartic to be openly mad at things! Though mixing it up is always a good idea
Uhh....I think he is getting more depressed...bc his local goodwill sucks
@@Floppa294To be fair, Robin can always find a way to make himself more depressed, lol. At least the posts themselves aren’t angry, depressing or a shitstorm.

1:34 FUN FACT!!
The two identical diagonal rainbow mugs are from the 80's and absolutely full of lead! They were part of a bouqet from a flower delivery service and were not made with food safe paint/glaze so they contain a LOT of lead. I also have one at my family's cabin I've used since a kid
Ah yes
*C a s u a l P o i s o n i n g*
@@alextheprettyalright625 Yum yum yum casual lead poisoning my favorite
lead paint was banned 1978 so if they were they were made illegally
@@tsm688 depends for what and where. In canada it was banned in paint in 1976, and heavily regulated in other products. It was banned in gasoline in the 90s. Lead was still allowed in glaze, but was limited to less than 1% I believe. Pretty sure the company did face lawsuits cause they were not made with food safe levels of lead, and did not specify on the product as they were supposed to
The glassware chicken is worth that much because it uses an old version of glassworking that was also used for church windows. Really time consuming to make, handmade product that is pretty much a unique result each time. Depending on its age of course. There was a point in time where the simpler cuts and forms started to be produced via machines, thus the flower glas lamp from earlier in the video as well, but the style is still rare and now valued as an antique. These things simply are no longer being produced.
I got an old 1950s microscope for $100 at a thrift shop. It came in it's own very heavy wooden carrying case, with multiple boxes of slides and a few bottles of emulsion? chemicals along with the original manual! One cool thing was that they were using an old bit of newspaper to cushion some stuff in one of the boxes and the newspaper was dated September 21st, which is my birthday!
Then it was destiny that you got that microscope! You got super lucky!
Wow. Just Wow.
You got the ultimate find.
I'm gonna return here in September 21st just to say happy birthday
I got a typewriter worth like 250$ for like 10$ at Salvation Army
3:28 Holy shit that's a good haul! Posca pens are so expensive, especially individuals. And I see a pack of Staedler markers too, what a lucky ducky!
And alas the 3 dreaded words came forth; “Only a spoonful!” To which Bach deviously responded by unsheathing a spoon capable of holding the weight of Jupiter, all the while smiling in content.
Bach would later go on to have his rebellious and resistant act be forever immortalised in the history of space and time.

My grandfather had this ceramic rooster he wanted to google. He actually typed "large ceramic Italian cock" before my mom stopped him. They did find it but my mom and I teased him for the rest of the day. It still cracks me up.
Could have taken a picture and just searched that, but hey you found it anyway.
Now this is a Reddit I can enjoy, modern day tomb diving if you will. Finding such treasure is always a treat
The rooster lamp is a 'Tiffany Lamp' which is what that style of like, stained glass lamps is called. I think the poster just misclicked an extra zero in there, they do sell for about 150-200 dollars.
Unless it was an original Tiffany made "Tiffany lamp" (it isn't). They're mostly mass produced low quality tat but the originals that the whole style is named after can fetch big money
My best thrift store haul will forever be when I got a 3 seater sofa that also unfolds into a massive ass bed for £15. There wasn't a single thing wrong with it, nothing missing and no rips or tears. The thrift store even delivered it for us because it was way too big to fit in our car. For reference, £15 is $19 so a whole ass sofa bed with everything included for less than $20.
massive ass-bed
which store was it 👀
@@mart664 It was a charity shop here called Break. No clue if they have it in other countries but they're located all across Britain.
@@theinvertebratequeen ooh. im from england. havent seen one of them yet
My best bet is it was sitting there forever and they couldn't get anyone to buy, so they knocked the price way down. The thrift store I work at does that with furniture that sits around for well over a month (especially if we're getting way too many furniture donations and need to make room)
The $100 ring makes me think about the pawn Stars episode where the lady brought in an actual fabergé spider brooch and only asked $2k for it and the main dude in the show told her it's worth 15 grand
WHERE I USED TO LIVE I HAD THE ORIGINAL RESCUERS AND ORIGINAL WHO FRAMED RODGER RABBIT! They did in fact have the naked lady in the window and Jessica Rabbit's flash when she is thrown out of the car. I have no way to even know if my father (I live with my grandparents now) still has them.
-Can I get some ice cream?
-Only a spoonful
I think the best thing i ever found at a thrift shop was 2 $20 bills in a pair of jeans
*scoff* LUCKY
You lucky son of a-
lucky! the only thing I've ever found in thrift store clothing pockets was an unused cigarette
Print on those plates @8:53 is called "Atomic Starburst" very valuable. Found thier eBay listing, it sold for $500
14:23 i could honestly see them being plant pots as an alternative use if they're too uncomfortable to use as drink mugs
I use a mug to hold pens and I have a huge one in the bathroom for toothbrushes and toothpaste. Mugs aren’t just for drinks anymore. 😂
10:28 I’d see these when going to the doctor for a regular check when I was young
You take a photo, then you also check if there is any identifier on the item (words or symbols or whatever) - then you use picture search and verify your findings by the markings.
That's how we find out about things.
We got a second hand shop close by that's a mix of "that was a bit expensive but I got it anyway" and "that tiny vase I bought for 2 Euros is by an artist from the 70s, every piece is unique, and those I found were sold for between 45 and 80 Euros" - not that we're planning on selling any of the things we find.
This has made me want to go to my local goodwill _immediately_
OMG Me too!
Yay! More thrift store hauls!
My best find to date is a mid-century jewelry box - completely made out of mother of pearl, abalone shell, and velvet - for €25 at a local flea market. I use it to hold my meds.
Amazon has plenty of plant stands. I love bamboo since it keeps down dust mites (allergic & have asthma), so buy only bamboo fabric/wood if its available & bamboo plant stands make excellent shelves for all kind of things. I will attach feet to the smaller ones, since I have a cat (vomit happens) & with ADHD, I'm kinda a klutz, so silicone foot covers are a must for anything wood that touches the floor!
6:14 A rain lamp has oil that drips down the wires to look like rain. The oil collects at the bottom and gets pumped back up to the top again. My aunt had something like it.
My great grandma had a couple of them, I think.
They're a bitch to clean >< but very cool

I love how Robin goes off on mini tangents about Kitchenaid mixers.
5:45 oh….I didn’t know those were valuable. I have one, but they were my mum’s “aviator glasses” and growing up we used them post eye doctor visits, cause they had polarized lenses. Now they are more a memento of my mum. Interesting.
I love that stained glass lamp Robin called “tacky” and would have it as my bedside light in a heartbeat.
I’m also FURIOUS that I was not the one to find that werewolf bar-mitzvah shirt because that would be my brother’s next gift from me
14:41 mugs like this are made for cold climates, where you have both hands on the mug to keep contact with the sweet warmth of the liquid inside.
One time I found a piggy bank that looks like the Minecraft pig from a thrift store lol
I got a 1912 Woodstock typewriter for $20 at a thrift store.
Did many essays with it

My grandparents had a rain lamp that I loved 🥰 they're so pretty when turned on!
The light is over the figurine. The big white pieces at the top & bottom connected by the wires are the really cool part! The top piece has a small reservoir of oil that will drip down the wires to the bottom piece. The effect makes it look like a gentle rain with the sun out in a garden 🥰 I *think* there's a pump system that will bring the oil from the bottom to the top piece through the three columns; I never saw my grandparents have to refill the top piece or empty the bottom.
That's so cool! I'd love something with an effect like that
0:27 as someone who collects those im genuinely in tears that they were for $15 I paid over 100 for mine 😭😭
2:50 My brother works at a Goodwill and he absolutely hates the prices the higher ups are forcing him to put things at. He's really good at pricing things just right too and they hate that for some reason?? They also force him to separately prices sets of items so if you want the full piece, well F you I guess, spend more.
I worked in a thrift store for about two years, found weird shit all the time. one of my favorites was a shirt that just said "bring me my poop knife" it was obviously an older shirt too, I fucking cried laughing and none of my 60 year old coworkers understood the hilarity
My dog passed away earlier today and I'm now watching EmKay videos to help me get through this difficult time
Thank you so much
rip :(
My condolences 😔
I’m sorry for your loss. 😔
“Only a spoonful”
-the guy who has that spoon in the thumbnail’s friend(probably)
I once got a gorgeous light green gown for a ball at a charity shop (UK version of thrift stores) for £20.
I got most of my party gowns from charity shops as a teenager, and they were all under £30. Genuinely adore them all still.
My dad found a TV in perfect condition at Saver’s once for the same price a few years ago, and it still works. We do not know how, we simply know that it does.
Really appreciating the correct use of "envious" there.
Also, I might have to get myself one of those spoons and modify it into selfmade Yuuma merch...
I need to know what Robin's house would look like if he had all the pieces he likes
Those stained glass lights are called Tiffany lamps if anyone ever needs help searching for them
These are always great - love seeing the hidden gems. I tried going to a local thrif store and found nothing good... May have to check out some other ones. I still need a damn couch! D:
Well, have I got a deal for you at 2:10
Here before this is the top comment
I had a Cavalier King Charles (RIP my girl) and when she was a pup, I found a Cavalier Leonardo ornament in a charity shop. It was supposed to be £25 (it was a new item, not one donated) and I was only charged £7 at the till. Got home, looked at the receipt and it said "dancing frogs ornament" so yeh, someone obviously switched the labels.. Oh and I also recently found a tie-dye t-shirt with a huge pic of Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance Had to get it although I haven't listened to them for years lol
12:15 1990's person here. The issue might be the neon shade. Or maybe the pink. When I was very little girl I had a lot of people react strangely to the fact I liked blue becasue 'blue's a boy's colour.' People are strange.
I once found a saddlecloth that is normally like 20€ for just 50 cents in my Kringloop(belgian goodwill) best find ever
One time my brother found a BRAND NEW set of LeBrons at an LA thrift shop for less than half the price they go for normally, and one time i found an expensive squirtle bag from a fancy brand that would normally go for 60-70 for only 30 bucks, and it was in perfect condition with the tag still on it
I wish Robin was around here somewhere.. I'm just cleaning out my parents' house and throwing out cringey 70s and 80s decoration stuff by the truckload, because nobody wanted any of it even after listing it for free in the local paper classifieds. About 10m³ (90ft³) in various plastic flowers alone.. my mum was crazy for that stuff and I can't stand them. Dozens of mirrors in all shapes and sizes.. each room had at least two. Huge cupboards with quilted leather door covers. Impossible to even give away. Pink velvet curtains.. blaech. Kitsch everywhere.
8:35 Ok, I'm feeling a bit envious (not jealous) about the MCM dishware set. Great find!
It’s so gorgeous!
Oh! Those Fisher Price little people! I remember my grandma having those with the brown and blue dollhouse. It even had a working metal doorbell. I work at a church and I was so very happy on my first day cleaning for them, I saw the exact same dollhouse in one of the children's rooms
7:35 Hey look, it's my cat.
Those rain lamps drip oil down clear wire(like fishing line) when plugged in. My older cousin had one in his room when I was a kid and it always fascinated me
11:13 Truthfully? Best bet would be the decor section of a restaurant supply store.
16:25 It's a stained glass rooster lamp, and a nameplate on the base should give more detail on where and when it was made.
I was gonna comment about how that black patterned couch shown at the beginning, is, while way overpriced, gorgeous, and that anybody who thinks otherwise can go sit in a corner and think about their life choices, but then I watched more of the video and saw what kind of aesthetic Robin likes…let’s just say, I’m a bit less angry now, considering he’s beyond help lol
The comically large spoon is real
I love how the subreddit can determine which narrator we get most of the time
Not gonna lie, those wooden Cylon Basestar glass top coffee and side tables are even tackier than the floral lamp.
As someone who used to work in a culinary warehouse, the big spoon is pretty much used for like industrial/resturant batches of food.
what about the giant fork and giant whisk?
8:11 Robin, this is basically *"Get a cheap guitar, No strings attached~"* taken LITERALLY 😂😂
Meantime, i vibe with an old official replica of Harry Potter's wand for 50 cents.
Former goodwill employee!! We dont test shit if it isnt a scooter. We arent given time and scooters are only so nothing explodes. We usually dont have any chargers or anything to test things and half the time management would yell at us for testing donations. So its 300% likely any tech is utter shit if not in the box.
Currently working at a thrift store. I have to try very hard not to buy stuff sometimes 😂
Buy stuff from another thrift store probem solved.
Used to sort goodwill. Where I worked, they had higher standards for what clothes are considered usable then I have. If I couldn't just take it, I even had a discount on products going to the store.
Thrift store always happens to have something interesting, I went to one and I was able to buy Sonic Rush, Sonic Rush Adventure, and Sonic Colors DS all for 13 dollars :D
The strawberry ‘book holder’ is actually a napkin holder! My family has one shaped like a shell, it lives on our dining table.
3:40 Omg, we have one just like that in my pantry! I am pretty sure my parents got it as a wedding gift years ago. It's still in great shape and works like a charm. I don't use it as often as I used to though. Kitchen Aid is one of those brands that's built to last. 👍
3:11 The Dutch obviously do not call this a "Dutch oven", we call that either a "Braadpan" (Roasting pan) or a "Hapjespan" (literal translation "morsel pan")
5:10 1999 is vintage? holy crap...what does that make me.... antique? (construction started in 1967, finished slightly over 9 months later in 1968)
14:38 I think they are designed as plant pots rather than mugs. The fact the Dinos on the sides are herbivores too certainly hints at their use.
I saw the Gold Ray Bans and I remembered the story of how my father, while away on work found a pair of mint condition Ray Bans just thrown away on the side of the road, case, cloth literally everything was there with it. It's not really that old, but that one goes for like a hundred bucks.
Going off that miniature, you could say we got...
*only a spoonful*
Other day at my local goodwill I found a whole ass road bike... 10$! Tires inflated, shifted well, brakes work, and it had a speedometer, and the odometer read over 700 miles
This is why I love thrift stores, you never know what you'll find!
I haven't find something super cool yet but my day is coming!
3:38 $30?!? My family got one for 250-300 _On sale,_ and it has served us well for like, 5 years now. I've consistently made a double-batch of cookies for christmas, my immediate family's birthdays, and my (Now Ex's) birthday, and valentone's day, all with no malfunctions whatsoever, and peak performance to this day. Unless there was a manufacturing failure, or someone used in a restaraunt for decades or Purposely sabatoged it, that thing should run like new for the foreseeable future of household use. You WILL get the 30 dollars worth, and more.
I love this subreddit, so I’m happy to see this in my notifications!
The rooster is made of Tiffany glass, it's antique and unique, which raises it's value, much like Swarovski Diamonds.
turn the mc sheets into a mc dress🔥
Use to work at Value Village. Fun fact, if something seems too low in price for the quality is, there’s most likely nothing wrong with it (all electronics get tested). Employees put them out at a low price to buy them cheap after work.
Once purchased a slightly stained vintage white lace dress from a local secondhand shop for only $20. It currently sits in my closet, waiting for a white sash to cover the staining and a wedding to star in
Hey Robin, your comment about the rescuers made me go check the old VHS of The Rescuers I watched at my folks place as a kid...and damn, it's that version.
the cat mona lisa one made my day!! thanks for the laughs, i needed that haha
For context, I have seen that Dutch Oven for around $200 new. Le Creuset is expensive but great stuff, an amazing find!
I’ve worked at good will and can tell you that if you go to different areas you will find better things. Go to wealthy areas to get cool name brand stuff, art, and better books, For cheaper prices go to a low income area, go to a goodwill next to a school for more kids stuff. It’s all about what your looking for and what areas you would typically find people with those items to donate. Also never buy any electronics at all unless you test it first. Employees do not test those things to make sure they work. Lastly, most people know this but always wash the clothes you buy at goodwill before wearing them. They do not get washed at the store and you can’t guarantee the person donating washed them. I always wash before donating but you can’t expect every single thing to be washed and ,honestly, there is so much dust on everything in the stores that you should watch them for that reason alone.
16:18 this looks alarmingly like my aunts house
A friend bought something from me at a yard sale for $2. She later told me she looked it up and it was imported and either worth $200 or sold for $200 new. I didn't argue though I know it's a copy my mom bought it from a catalog for probably about $20. I do wish I'd kept more of the original mid-century pieces, though.
I've been having a bad couple of weeks and the 2 episode of thriftstorehauls has made me so happy! I hope we see like 5 or 6 more of these
This is a really underrated subreddit! Definitely want to see more
13:55 I HAVE THAT VHS! I wish i still had my vhs player but I sold it about 2 months ago. MISSED OPPORTUNITY MAN!
A quick tip to thrifting cheap: Most retirement towns are like HOAs, you need to get a permit or similar to have a garage/Estate sale, so a LOT of good stuff ends up at thrift stores. Now I’m not sure why, but there’s regulations on used pricing, so you can get a whole coach for as low as $100 in good condition ( no stains, no bad smell, and no missing legs). I even got a $70 faux fur coat for $5 because all coats were on sale.
I have one of those original Little Mermaid VHS tapes/cases and I love it. 😂 All of my Disney movies are in original cases and are still in great condition.
So i saw this video after I searched up what I bought at a rummage sale today. I bought a book missing a dust jacket with no print date, no copyright date on the inner pages. Looked up the book with the publisher. It's not worth too much but it's from the 1930s-40s so I now have a nearly 100 year old book in my possession
OMG! That rain lamp! God, does that thing bring back memories from my childhood. No joke, I must've known, at least, a half dozen kids who's parents had that exact same model hanging in there house. Man, those things were everywhere in the late 70's and early 80's.
3:00 - Look for church resale shops. They usually have good deals.
Was a teenager in the 90's. Those coats were indeed definitely a thing and you can't tell me that they're not fashionable. Bulky? Yes, but that was ALSO the fashionat the time for coats.
1:05 Wait a minute…there’s one of those in my house; I’m so used to see it that the thought of it being “tacky” is completely gone from my heed, and I say that as though it was ever there to begin with.
Now that I think of it I honestly can’t remember not seeing it in my house, I have no idea when my parents actually got it.
5:00 My mother and I were in a ReStor one time, and we found what appeared to be a genuine taxidermied deer head. Which someone had blasted with lavender spraypaint (including the eyes), and then covered up to the cheeks in hot-glued plastic flowers.
I hope my dad still has that thing.
i went to a salvation army recently and bought a decent tp link router that was basically brand new (TP-Link Archer A7) and brand new goes for like 40-60 i think online, and currently its serving me very well
I can't believe he called that fancy couch ugly lol, I'm actually offended 😂
13:40 ay yo is that Chris Chan.
11:35 we all know, this cat will throw EVERY single plant on the ground the second it will be unwatched...
I collect build a bears and history books and I live near a thrift store that usually has one or more. My queen bed barely has room for me and have 3 shelves of books(90% thrifts). Also get a lot of good fabrics and wall shelves. Live near better thrift stores Robin
“I don’t hang up mirrors because I DESPISE MYSELF” 😂… 😢 Robin you ok man?
that chicken at the end is a Tiffany/stained glass art piece. Stained glass stuff is expensive if it's not a chinese copy, with cheap glass.
These things are hand made and the 3d pieces like this one is pretty hard to make.
10:19 They ARE the ultimate fidget toys, I WANT ONE
