Reclaimed Floating Corner Shelves

These reclaimed floating corner shelves were made at the same time as the desktop in my last video - I decided when I started editing that one to make them into two separate videos.
Although I'm not sure what the timber is, it was of excellent quality underneath the old cracked paint. It shows reclaimed wood doesn't have to be rustic! Nothing wrong with rustic though I like that too!
I'm very happy to answer any questions.

Hi friend. May I suggest you to add links to your related videos? You should leave them in the description box. For example the video of the build of the portable mortiser would be cool. That way you could get more views, too.
    Thank you :)

Nicely done. Every time i do something like this i discover that my walls are not strait because in my country we build houses with thick concrete walls.
Another thing: can you please tell me the reason why you use 8 coats ?!

Awesome! Was planning on doing this soon! I was thinking about running a second, parallel set of overhead storage further in over the garage door. Thinking having the storage entirely joist-supported should be fine for another couple hundred pounds. They are holding up a roof and a second story after all. 5:45

Last summer we were rebuilding a deck, and we got to keep all the lumber of the old deck. The deck was built with 2x4's instead of standard deck boards, and consisted of about 100 8-12ft long 2x4's covered in paint. When we started tearing into it we were in for quite a surprise! It was ALL old growth Redwood, and it was all ours for FREE.

Also glad you were able to figure out what it was. I sifted through all the comments on both videos and the only comment I saw was someone saying it was Beechwood, which I questioned immediately because that seemed way too dark for beech
