The sparkle creed actually contradicts itself. They say God is " non-binary, and yet they say Jesus has two dads, obviously Joseph is one and God is the other, yet if God is one of Jesus's dads, then He can't be non-binary, since a dad is always male. Does anyone else see the contradiction?
The true funny thing about this sparkle creed is that, God has chosen to identify himself with he/him. Why don’t they respect God’s preferred pronouns?😂 That’s a lot of bigotry and misgendering if you ask me.
Coming to a UMC church near you soon- if it’s not already there in your area. This is the future of the UMC, which is why my wife and I left. We now serve in the GMC and are so excited about what is happening there- the Holy Spirit is moving among the remnant that God has called out of the UMC!
I sent this to a few people in my church...one described it as a bad standup comedy routine. The creed is straight pagan; therefore, this church is apostate.
What we hear in the subject clips is on par with much proclaimed by the wayward leadership of the UMC, but they always leave out ‘the rest of the story, ‘ that being Jesus healed them, or cast the demons out of them, and told them ‘to go and sin no more.’
My mother is a pastor in the Northern CA UMC. She happily voted for this, not realizing WHAT she was voting for. Most of their conference was all about "Acceptance" and I don't think they wanted to be labeled. If she actually knew what was going on, I don't think she would vote for this. Kids don't get it, they want to run around. So sad.

Me. too. Actually, after posting this, I was thinking about it and I think I would say our usual Nicene Creed, loudly while the other was being said, then leave.
Pray dear people of God! The devil knows his time is ending and he is doing everything to brings many souls with him in hell. May Jesus, the Divine Mercy have mercy on us and on the whole world.
As a Lutheran (ELCA) Pastor, let me say just how appalled at the example of this church. I wish I could say that it was exceptional and isolated, but I cannot. It is offensive and scandalous to our brothers and sisters in Christ. Please know that there ARE faithful Pastors who continue to struggle and fight and minister to their Parishes in the ELCA, just as I am sure there are those still fighting in the UMC. The situations are similar and yet different between the two denominations... The end result, however, is if I leave my Parish then I leave my parishioners to the not-so-tender mercies of follows me.
The positive of the shrinking of the mainline churches is that at least children who grew up outside the church and come to Christ later do not have the internal conflict with this false teaching they were taught and believed as children.
You see this a lot in the seeker-friendly churches. Not the fanfare, but the "Jesus loves you just the way you are." Yes, Jesus takes us as we are, but He wants us to change and will help us to do so. Does Jesus love the alcoholic or addict just the way they are? If an addict cries out, "Jesus, save me!" does Jesus respond, "Naw, yer good, keep doing what you're doing!" Hardly, and there are millions of recovered drunks and addicts that have proven that over the centuries. The problem with narcissistic creeds and churches is that they appeal to people that think they're "pretty darn good" and in need of no transformation. Narcissism is one of the tools of the devil -- it cons people into thinking that they don't need God. It convinces them that they're worthy of worship, not God.
Yes very true Reformation started with Luther who kept as much as possible. Instead of throwing out tradition for the sake of it. Kept the liturgy and vestments, the creed, the crosses and cruxifix in Church. This "pastoress", which the Bible forbids, women are not to be pastors, is mocking Christianity
Minor tangent - I have always wondered why pastors use a mic when speaking to a small group of children gathered at their feet. I imagine it is partly performative - giving the pastor a chance to demonstrate his/her ability to shepherd the young members - and partly to surreptitiously deliver the children's message to the adults, dumbing things down somewhat so the adults can process the message without feeling insulted.
1. So the folks in the pews can hear. The children’s message is often projected to the entire congregation and/or folks not physically attending the service. 2. If the children’s message is recorded, this type of mic does a better job of picking up the pastor’s voice and eliminating feedback/background noise. 3. The pastor can usually mute the mic if she doesn’t want a conversation to be heard by everyone. The sound tech can mute the mic also, if the pastor forgets. (That can be embarrassing!)
@@frzstat Using the mic to record the content of the children's message is valid - for any children who might be listening from home. It still facilitates the rather self-serving purposes I mentioned in my original comment. This really isn't a very big issue - it's just an observation.
Are you making a reference to that UM pastor who ended his prayer at the US Capitol with "Amen and Awomen"? If so, very funny. If not, then I do not know what you're talking about.
The whole idea of “acceptance and diversity” is based around self love. It isn’t keeping God’s commands because of his righteousness, it’s twisting His commands to make the path easier for people. The Christian life ain’t easy. If you stand up what’s right others will seek to end you.
Those that teach against the Word of God in the name of God have great judgment that will come upon them. They turn God into a liar, and we who know Him and His Word know that He cannot lie. This brought fire and brimstone upon Sodom and Ghomorrah. God will not be mocked.
Plural pronouns for God: probably referring to the passages in Genesis that use plural pronouns for God. Jesus and his fabulous tunic: probably referencing John 19, where his coat is without seam and the soldiers cast lots for it rather than tear and divide it.
