Honestly more than you'd ever need unless you're an avid 4x4 rock crawler. And I doubt many of us are buying 24 Rubicons and taking them vertical. This is perfect, though I prefer the v6 with manual. Have one on order for myself. Been 6 months now, I went with High Velocity. Thanks for the video
@@william6534I also really want the manual trans as well. Think the manual trans is durable vs automatic? The most I’d ever do is 33’s since my TJ on 31’s goes everywhere I’d want to go hunting wise.
As long as $5000 or more off MSRP with incentives and dealer discounts. My local dealer wanted 30k. I think thus one is overpriced because base is 30 grand. But soon, they’ll go lower.
Nice Jeep. Great to finally meet you, Ryan. Your absolutely right on doing your Jeep the way that you want it. That is one of the great things about the Jeep community is seeing all of different builds.
Glad to finally see Ryan! I have to say, for the name, make it Smokey. 1st reason is the color, it's almost a smokey grayish blue, but also you got it right before Smokey Mountain Invasion. I feel like it's too perfect of a name!
Congratulations Ryan!! Can’t wait to watch what y’all do with this build! I have one in D1 status and DRC has certainly inspired my build! Thanks Matt for all y’all do!!
Great video. I ordered a 2024 Sahara and this will be the 3rd Jeep I have owned. I finally got a fully loaded Sahara with the one touch sky touch. Yes it was a lot, but I am so excited. I am looking forward to the electric leather seats. I did want the Anvil color, but for some reason, you can't order the one touch roof with that color so I got the hydro blue. Not sure when it will come in but I am looking forward to it.
Budget build idea which I used was using XR suspension take-offs, keeping the stock steely wheels, adding 35s and wheel spacer to ensure no rubbing, and nice stance.
It’s great to see you Ryan in front of the camera. You fit well on the channel. We would really like to see both of y’all building up your Jeep. I’m really looking forward to see your Jeep built. Then out on the trails. Great choice Ryan
Congrats Ryan and DRC… This is going to be a super cool build and I can’t wait!! That color is epic and I love that interior. Another great video, keep ‘em coming!! 👍
I have a 2014 anvil 2 door. I was sold on the color in the shade...it looks like storm clouds. In bright light, it's more of a light/pale blue. The paint has held up over the years, too.
Congratulations Ryan on a very nice looking Jeep. It was nice to meet y’all Saturday afternoon at Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion. Can’t wait to see the transformation of the new Jeep.
I miss the simplicity of my 2012 firecracker red 2dr manual everything soft top. Always got me home even when it was time for new clutch and throw out bearing at 70k.
He should be named Jasper. This name is associated with strength, courage, resilience and loyalty. Pretty much sums up a Jeep and an anvil! 🤣 Love your Jeep! I am in the process of buying another Jeep and deciding if I want a 2 door Wrangler or if I should finally try a Gladiator. I had a 2012 gecko green 2 door that I wish I would have never gotten rid of 😬
DRC, love the channel because I have the EXACT same jeep. The only difference is I have the S trim and the switch and towing pkg. It's great watching your mod vids and knowing exactly how it will then look on my rig. I doubt I'll ever take her off-road but the great thing about Jeep is how no two end up exactly alike. Thanks again for doing this build and for all the great content!
Have a 2024 Wrangler 2dr in the Anvil Clear coat. Love it. Power windows, gorilla windshield, a few other options. NOT planning on off roading, tricking it out etc, just an old guy who had a “73” 2dr soft top and loved it. Don’t need a full size F150 4dr any more so, I downsized big time. My ONLY complain, I wish Jeep, would make a (and offer) a sliding window for the sides. Nice for ventilation or those of us with a dog in the back with the seat removed.
Love everything bout this jeep guys! 2dr base is a great canvas! Can't wait to see what it becomes. Really like that yall gonna keep it somewhat a budget build too. Something that most anyone can probably do. Love it!
Congrats Ryan! Glad yours came in on time and will be following your build while I wait for my Anvil Willys 2 door. It is a MT so it may be 2024 before it shows up. Keep the videos coming cause until mine shows up I will be living vicariously through you!
Congratulations! I have a 2015 2 door Sport JK, also the bare bones version but with a manual. I've had so much fun building it, I got a Teraflex ST2 Lift Suspension, Falcon 3 position shocks, 40 anniversary steel bumpers, warn winch, rear grizzly lsd and front locker, KC headlights, BF Mud Terrains on 17" JL wheels... It is now a very capable off roader as well as a daily driver. the money you saved in the purchase price can go towards the mods that you want!
Congrats! I currently have a base sport on order, but I'm waiting for Bikini Pearl and the manual transmission. I also plan on doing mods on mine and am excited to be able to watch someone else mod their base sport as well.
Congrats Ryan! You should name it Blue Steel since it's blue and grey/silver 😅😁 my dad and I both have a 22 HT and a 23 2 dr Sport S which I think is almost the exact same set up as you and Matt have 😂 if anything compare and contrast both of your Jeeps because it's the #1 thing that happens to me and my dad when we go somewhere with both of ours 😊👍

Ryan, did you experience any death wobble at 70 mph on the highway driving back from the day you picked it up.Just curious, I know the Jeep is new, but I have heard that this could be an issue with the Wranglers. Don't know how true, just thought I would ask.
Lucky for him. My 2 door manual Willys order has been confirmed for 45 days, not even scheduled yet. The longer it goes the more I’m considering just keeping my 21 Gladiator Willys and canceling the 24.
Looking at getting one eventually. I drive 2012 rav4 I would like to get a jeep 4cy in the jeep spot . When you put it in follow a drive do all four tires lock up and spend
Silly me! Dirt Road Cred had me expecting info about how well a new 2024 2-door would do on (you know) Dirt Roads. Mods we did on our base model 1999 TJ included exchanging 215/75R15 tires for 235/75R15s (my wife's contribution), a manual disconnect for the rear sway bar (my design), premium polyurethane bushings plus instalation (or son's contribution) and (the upgrade that made the most difference in capbility) Edlebrock IAS (Inertia Active System) shock absorbers.
We thought Ryan was Matt’s imaginary friend. Jus kiddin. I will say, that is one good looking Jeep. Inside, outside, dash, seats...well done, Ryan. Gotta be fun👍👍😎🇺🇸
Congrats man! I remember seeing the Anvil color on the JKs a while back and really liking how they looked. I love the interior on this, maybe I'll do a seat swap in my Hydro blue '23. Kind of glad I went with the 23 because I swapped the sound bar speakers for 6X9's and those new pods look smaller.

Very cool, love the videos and seeing a base Wrangler. We just picked up a ‘24 Xtreme Recon Rubicon and love it! Not sure if the sport has it or not but found a cool surprise on the top center of the dash where the speaker is, if you pull up the rubber pads to the left and right, there is actually a threaded base there where you can attach a bullet point base mount or similar for phones or go pros, etc. Maybe I’m the only one but I had no idea this was under there!😂🤙🏻
Congratulations on your new beautiful Jeep! We currently have a 2012 JK and a 2019 JL. To keep them separate when talking about them, we call them JacK and JilL.
I am one of your biggest fans. I would truly appreciate if you could answer me this: I got my 2024 two door sport. Exactly like Ryan’s. But I noticed there is a “v-shaped” slit/tear on the rear wheel wall carpet (behind the passenger seat side.) Is it normal? If it is, what’s this for? Does Ryan’s Jeep have one too? Thanks very much!!!
I bought a new JK from the dealership back in 2008. I still drive it today and I would miss the hell out of it if I traded her in. I do like the bare bones models because that's all I would need.
I have same Anvil color , 2024 Jeep Wrangler 2 Door Sprt S , adding runner boards , I like the "stock " design , only aged a name to mine , I'm 65 , FUN FUN !!😊😅😊
Love the new jeep. Awesome color. Just got our first jeep. It's a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL. Looking forward to adding upgrades... on a budget. Glad Ryan is going a similar route.
Well, Matt, 23 Aug 2023, ordered my 2-door 2024 Rubicon X, through Dan Cummins, thanks to your positive vibes about their operation. I prefer stock and no personal names on my rigs. Feel free to use your Jeep contacts, influencers, whatever, to get my Rubicon X here to California, ASAP, hehe.
Congrats Ryan on your new Wrangler! It took right at 6 weeks for us to get our Hydro Blue 2 door Willys! As for a name how about Smokey? It would go well with the color!
@@DIRTROADCRED you too. I know you guys have a lot connections but if you run into something on this build you can’t get a deal on let me know. We would love to help.
Just bought one for my wife three weeks ago, identical to this one. Very nice, but I’m already seeing an issue with a slight engine surge while in 1st gear at around 1,100 rpm. I would guess it is a pressure sensor that is slightly out of calibration. We love it though.
I (and many others with manual trans) experience surges in my ‘23. The culprit is the multi stage oil pump. Doesn’t affect RPMs or performance.. it’s odd you are experiencing the same thing in an automatic!
Cool. I had a brand-new 2015 Rubicon that I unfortunately wrote off. IF I was going to do another Jeep, I do it exactly like this, only with the manual transmission.
Check out this Jeep getting lifted!

Awesome! Great minds think alike
Congrats!! I was a 2 door guy until I bought my first JKU. Won’t go back now.
Appreciate it!
Name it smoky for its first adventure!
This is in the top 3 for sure! Thanks for the suggestion
Love the new jeep. Awesome color.
Just got our first jeep. It's a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited JL.
Looking forward to adding upgrades... on a budget. Glad Ryan is going a similar route.
Thanks Mike! Congrats on the first Jeep
Haha! Excited for you.
Glad you didn't get the 6 cyl,I'm done with that junk 6 cyl.
Wish they still had the straight 6 but it's gone to bad.like your rig !!
So grateful for a base model review and future build. Gonna do the same purchase in red with a manual. How long would the manual order take?
Hard to say with the recall. I know some people have been waiting since March, and that was for a 2023.
Absolutely love the interior, it’s a nod to the 89 Sahara..
Yes!
Congrats Ryan on your new Wrangler! It took right at 6 weeks for us to get our Hydro Blue 2 door Willys! As for a name how about Smokey? It would go well with the color!
Thanks Paul! Smokey is in the running. Enjoy your new Willys
Great choice. We love our 2dr Sport. Have fun😎
Thanks! Will do!
I’m no pro but Ryan did a great job on camera in my opinion. That 2 door jl is going to be a great project for the channel.
Thank you! Good meeting you today.

@@DIRTROADCRED you too. I know you guys have a lot connections but if you run into something on this build you can’t get a deal on let me know. We would love to help.
Hi Ryan! Congrats on your new addition 🎊
Hey Lizzy! Thank you
You are lucky on that order. I ordered my Rubicon July 8th and it is still listed as D, so not even in D1 stage after 3 months
Sorry to hear!
Just bought one for my wife three weeks ago, identical to this one. Very nice, but I’m already seeing an issue with a slight engine surge while in 1st gear at around 1,100 rpm. I would guess it is a pressure sensor that is slightly out of calibration. We love it though.
Sorry to hear. Nothing on our end yet. Enjoy the new Jeep
@@DIRTROADCRED thanks you too. I’m looking forward to your new vids!
I (and many others with manual trans) experience surges in my ‘23. The culprit is the multi stage oil pump. Doesn’t affect RPMs or performance.. it’s odd you are experiencing the same thing in an automatic!
@@hellaacapella hmm interesting…
Cool. I had a brand-new 2015 Rubicon that I unfortunately wrote off. IF I was going to do another Jeep, I do it exactly like this, only with the manual transmission.
Nice Jeep Ryan! Looking forward to seeing what you do to her.
Appreciate that! First mod video coming
Where do these guys live, those houses look really nice with the view of the hills. Is this in Kentucky?
