The friendship between Loki and Mobius is so transformative for both of them. Through mutual respect and even admiration, Mobius is able to step outside the idealized reality he's been imprisoned in, and Loki gets to experience the unconditional acceptance he's been chasing his whole life, resulting in the manifestation of the glorious purpose he always said he was destined for. The whole thing was so brilliantly executed.
Not only was Loki an incredible story with the most heart wrenchingly beautiful ending, it gave us one of the best relationships in the entire MCU. It’s going to live on in my mind for a long time 💚
9:42 This scene is my favorite in Loki because Tom Hiddleston looks like he's having so much fun spouting Latin & making a scene. He took Latin classes & I can only imagine how great it was to use that knowledge.
His university degree was in the Classics: he can read and speak Latin and Greek fluently. He also speaks French and Spanish, and the train part where he's singing to Sylvie, it's in Norwegian, and he does a great job. Re: the Pompeii scene, there's a channel where the creator teaches Latin and Greek (he taught himself Latin in 3 months), plus he knows 6 other languages fluently enough to live and work in other countries.
Or Crowley's trauma, and Aziraphale's faith in heaven! Or their approaches to "fixing" Nina's and Maggie's situation. Basically, just therapise the whole show 😄 I would watch every second several times over 😃
@@Lisa-AndreaFischer-jj2is I hope that Aziraphale and Crowley can get together. They really do love each other, even if Aziraphale isn't quite sure yet.
I have always enjoyed their dynamic. Loki seems to get out of his own way when Mobius is around. I think it's because Mobius actually took the time to understand him and opened his eyes whereas his own family just stood in judgment of him. It would be interesting to see their reaction to see how he's changed and what he ultimately chooses to do. Loki is an Amazing and well told overall story. ❤
They have the best dynamic in the MCU, hands down. They both learn from each other and push one another and their relationship progresses. It’s not the usual quip and one liners that seem to imitate Legolas and Gimli. The only dynamic that comes close are the guardians.
3:37 . Loki and Mobius have Sherlock and Watson vibes: "Sherlock, please, be nice with this person. Control yourself". 🤣 Almost the same dynamics. I love it. Also, my fav bromance in the MCU before Loki and Mobius was Steve and Bucky. Both bromances are great
What i realy like about mobius is, he has seen Lokis intire Life, all he has done and all he went throu and Mobious is the first Person who treats him like the Person Loki is. not as a God, not as Brother, not as a Enemy no he is the first Person who sees the Person himself behind all of it. AND Mobius is the First Person who acts like "Loki, i see you, i understand and you are not alone anymore" And i think Loki knows that and its one of the main why he trusts him.
I really like how both characters bring everything to the table, that you wanna see in ppl. including some portions of mischief but also accountability, chaos but also giving way to some order, they're both very highly socially skilled, in their own ways and I'm here for that.
The best bromance in the MCU by far. I love their banter, their debates, they just work so well with each other. I have a friend like this, she's a school teacher, a catholic, American. I'm a tarot reader, a witch and from NZ but I see her like a little sister and she is super close to my heart. We have banter, we debate especially on religion and politics, but we're open minded to each other's life experiences and at the end of the day we've known each other for like 23years now.
I feel there is a lot going on in the Loki series not only in action but its choke-full of little intricacies, theology, philosophy, and just wisdom in general there is a lot we can grab hold of and learn and apply to our lives. Now towards the end when bringing up the “echo chamber” I thought that was a good question I’ve never heard anyone ask and thats interesting to me. I’m a person who rarely gets along with people who are almost completely like me which I find interesting but I realized yeah the friends I have and the family I get along with most are pretty opposite of me but what’s nice is I can sit with them and see things from their side (maybe not agree with the view but at least recognize it and accept that it exists and where they come from) and they in turn can do the same. As I’ve gotten older (mind you I’m still in my early 20’s) I’ve learned I’m now a person who dedicates a lot of time and energy into learning new things from math and science to say cooking, mechanics, and the language arts I find learning and improving in things I can apply to my life is very fulfilling. Anyways all in all I thought this video was very interesting and the question to also be an eye opener.
I agree 100% they taught and changed each other so much. I hope that you make another video about Loki's change, how he was able to heal and change so much that he became the hero of the mcu
Love their relationship and the growth it showed over the 2 seasons. This series was amazing. Thanks for the insight. I will give a little pushback and say that there are some differences of opinion that no matter how open minded we ought to be just cant be agreed upon such as someone having an opinion that supports hurting someone else (rape, child molestation etc) and sometimes we do need to cut relationships with people because of those extreme examples.
Loki and Mobius are definitely my favorite Marvel bromance. Can you do one on Din and Bo Katan? Or maybe another Star Wars bromance/friendship? I try to surround myself with diversely thinking people and I like to think I have an open mind.
Not sure of your personal beliefs, but I am of the impression that both of you guys from cinema therapy are men of faith. As someone who has experienced some of the faith community as closed mind and rigid, it fills me with a bit of hope that there are humans like you out there that can possibly hold some faith and yet continue to have nuanced conversations like this and remain teachable and able to learn and grow. It’s a good human quality I hope we nurture in society more. Thank you.
I love your videos and also the 'cinema therapy' with Alan and especially the 'villain therapy' episodes. And I love the bromance between Mobius and Loki 💚 I think they learned so much from each other and their chemistry is just fantastic! I also would love to see a video about Loki/Sylvie and their complex relationship (trust issues, communication, inability to verbalize emotion) Keep up the great work! 🙏
A major problem with accepting influence is that to many people expect others to accept their influence refuse to do the same themselves. They might even throw accusations to "prove" that they are right. Then an echo-chamber is at least less emotionally harmful.
It may not be the most popular show, but I would LOVE a video here and even on Cinema Therapy reacting to Julia (series on Max). Julia and Paul’s relationship is the best on screen relationship I’ve ever seen. Every single episode made me cry. And it’s one of the most emotionally complex shows I’ve watched. It’s amazing. I’d love to hear your thoughts on it! Also I love Loki and Mobius, they’re my fave. I agree, nobody tops them
My glorious burden is that I adore men like Loki in a world abundant of Peter Pan's. Who's influence to accept is the caveat for me. And obviously who to try and influence......
This wasn't touched on in the video but since this is a mental health/therapy channel I thought it might be interesting to share: I know "diagnosing" fictional characters is futile but some have said Loki has a lot of traits of Borderline Personality Disorder and I'm inclined to agree with that assessment. A lot of people with this condition are turned away by therapists because they are considered incurable and doomed to always be their worst selves, like what Mobius says to Loki in the first episode (of the first season) when he tells him he's only ever going to be able to cause pain and suffering and "that's how it was, that's how it will be." BUT THEN a few episodes later he tells Loki he could be anything he wanted to be, "even someone good" which is essentially him apologizing and admitting he was wrong about what he said before. Since Mobius kind of acts like Loki's therapist at times, it's kind of like a therapist realzing they were wrong about people with BPD being doomed to be their worst selves forever.
This is the only thing I’ve ever been able to stomach Owen Wilson in, and I feel like it’s because of all of the reasons you give. I’m still not over them letting Marley die instead of his character in Marley and Me. That glorious yellow lab deserved better.
Please react to: One Piece (Live Action - trauma, loyalty, dreams, ideals/moral compass) Why Women Kill (season 1 - relationships) Why Women Kill (season 2 - wanting to matter/be acknowledged) The Good Place (seasons 1-4 - morality) Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (season 1-4 - re the title)
Please therapized Scott and Stiles from Teen Wolf. I would love to hear a therapist's take on this friendship. It's all kinds of problematic, particularly Season 5.
Re: Being OK with opposing beliefs, I feel like you've kind of idealized Loki and Mobius's exchange here, or you're re-contextualizing it to suit your theme. Loki doesn't have free agency in this scene, he's a captive from the TVA working with them under threat of being pruned. You can't really 1:1 Mobius's unverifiable faith based beliefs with Loki's lived experience, places that he's actually been, and people that he's actually met.
Intellectual humility isn't about intellect, though. It's about emotion, and it applies only to opinion...never fact or logic. Now, you can be open to the potential that you made an honest mistake somewhere in a recollection, a logical process, or in the measurement of data. And that's totally reasonable. But then it's necessary for someone to prove absolutely that that's the case. And if they can't...then they're wrong, the end. That's how logic and facts operate. Opinion and belief, on the other hand, are entirely as you describe. But even then, there's nothing "teachable" there...ever...because no matter who says what, opinions and beliefs are innately pure bullshit, without exception. Until...they can be demonstrated objectively with logic and factual data. At which point, they cease to be opinion or belief anymore...but that's exceedingly rare.
Love Loki! The bromance between these two was great and really developed well. Could we also talk about the relationship with the other Loki’s, maybe specifically Sylvie??
It's wonderful relationship that brings a big impact to all in the final episode of the entire series. I would love to see Sylvie and Loki get therapized.
You're right it's not a contender because Steve and Bucky are actually gay for each other. Anyone who watches Cap and the Winter Soldier and doesn't read Steve as a walking out of the closet at least bisexual, is blind.
stupid theory based on nothing. the greatest thing about their relationship is exactly the fact that mobius is a simple mortal outsider that confronts loki with compassion and without judgement, making loki change but also be whoever he wants to be.
Especially that part where Mobius and Loki are escorting Victor Timely to R&A and Mobius strokes Loki's fingers with his thumb. Or all of Mobius being jealous and petty when it comes to Sylvie. Or Loki staring at Mobius for like 10 seconds in Season 2 Episode 5 when Loki says "It's about who", and when Loki is about to go bust the Temporal Loom and Loki, again, stares at Mobius as if he's commiting every detail of Mobius' being to his memory before he likely will never see Mobius again. There's so much more, but those are my favorite ones. Especially petty Mobius and when Don keeps mentioning he's single and when that song plays at his workplace with the lyrics "everyone's looking for a new romance", as Don speaks with Loki. The creators said they knew that viewers would pause and look at every detail and everything in the show is intentional and I think it was David, the person who played the dude wanting to see ATVs in season 2 episode 5 and is the person responsible for, geez I can't remember exactly, like lighting and scenes, said in an interview that Loki is in love. Mostly I just want it resolved and not left hanging like Mobius at the end of Season 2 Episode 6 just letting time pass.
Ha...echo chamber... Man...NOBODY agrees with me...on ANYTHING. There are rare, small exceptions...but I have zero practical or sincere support or agreement for anything I say or do, from anyone. Everyone is addicted to emotion and opinion...and actively abhors fact, objectivity, or logic.

I'm just sitting here in awe that Tom Hiddleston learned, and prattled off, that much Latin with not only competency, but utter RELISH.
Tom speaks several languages fluently and while I don’t remember if he’s fluent in Latin, he has studied Latin way before shooting this series.
@@lorpsandorps3729 he studied ancient languages in university. But yeah, Latin, Greek, and several others. Guy has a true brain for languages.
I didn't know this about Tom H.
Another polyglot actor is Viggo Mortensen.
Meanwhile these Romans probably can't understand his British accent lol
You should go to the polyMATHY channel. Luke Raneiri (language expert) breaks down Loki's monologue and why Tom is so good at it ..
