    We have lots of those here in Philippines , very cheap to buy if you just buy it from locals harvesting urchins and not on the market because in markets they inflate the price so much , its good to pair it with vinegar with garlic and chilis 🤌

    Delicious, dying for some fresh urchins. I live in the dessert so if I'm lucky, my local Asian stores have a few sad looking wedges for $12 (about 1/2 worth of a mid size urchin) 😢

    Love these little guys. I live in Japan and they’re eaten a lot here, especially on sushi. Expensive though. I’d love to eat these freshly cracked under that blazing blue sky. Mouthwatering !

    I love nearly everything that comes from the sea with this being the exception. The taste, the texture, the smell…..it was the stuff nightmares are made of. It has been 16 years since I had it and the memory is still very vivid.

    Uni is probably my favorite flavor on this planet, second to wagyu steak. It is the wagyu of the ocean, super buttery, melt in the mouth, oceanic flavor, and absolutely delicious.

      @@emj1794 west coast of Tassie or Aus? You’ll be able to find them in all the waters on the west coast of Tassie. Less than 2m and you’ll find some.
      As for commercial sales I’m not sure, I know the Kiwi’s have a big market for them but I haven’t seen them in stores down here.

      I don't know about poisonous but not all are good to eat and they can prick you but it's not bad. I had a lot in guam from snorkeling and there were way more that were inedible than weren't, but I absolutely love them. I prefer to clean mine but to each their own. It's a good umami flavor with the consistency of something like warm butter
