That's honestly another point of why AoT is so good. The music is remixed in a variety of ways and developed over the seasons and it makes it almost so that the music itself is like a character with character development that you get attached to. The reused melodies really give a feeling of familiarity and yet they're newly suited to whats going on in the moment. Its so unique.

7:08 "It's like it's traveling underwater, and we just lose our roots."
This single comment gives me chills: How precisely and profoundly can great musicians create or perceive, through merely notes, instruments and composing, these complicated, hard-to-articulate human emotions?
If what you claimed at the beginning about your current episode is true, then you have absolutely no idea how perfectly you just summarize one significant plot-point of the show right there in that simple sentence. This is amazing!
Thank you again for these reactions. Additional gratitude in this one particularly, for I finally find a way to properly express the depression I felt when listening to this piece.

Followings are frantic AOT nerd stuff, 'Eye-water' related, no spoilers. Please go ahead ignore them if you find it annoying or unnecessary. :)
Although this song is included in AOT OST album released in 2013 - in other words, dedicated for anime season 1 - I believe the exact track hadn't been actually used. Instead, it's variation version was used in S1 Ep.2.
And, just like there're different versions of 'ətˈæk 0N tάɪtn,' 'Eye-water' was recomposed, and reused in season 2. Without mentioning any details or specific episode, you'll find how precise your comment is when you reach THE episode.

There's a Sawano piece called "Voices of the Chord" that has a similar somber feel to this in the beginning but it crescendos into more of an "impedding-triumph" type of mood by the end - I recommend it and it's one of my favorites by Sawano

I've always loved these crackling noises, weird static and distorted sounds that are on these tracks. It's almost like these little sounds don't fit with the melody and all, but in a strange way it fits in perfectly and I'm pretty sure it was meant to feel that way. It makes the soundtracks feel more surreal. It gives you that feeling of unknown and mystery, like there's something out there that we don't know about. It fits the show very well aswell, you have no idea what's going on (if you're watching it for the first time) and it all feels surreal.

This track reminds me of The Town, Flow of Time, People from Clannad. (Be aware I'm not musically instructed) Both have this calm and quiet melody (choir) behind an instrumental that it isn't quite interacting with and over time gets more and more muffled under so many instruments.

There are about 8 hours of attack on titan originals and remixes, and they should all be heard. There is this one that seemed a bit random though with some guy doing a gangsta rap, WTF... it managed to merely be odd instead of absurd though on account of attack on titan having a long history of odd choices, but the rap was odd even for attack on titan. I don't think describing something as odd is an insult. If the story didn't lose you at espide 1 with its invasion of naked giants, a few odd soundtracks probably aren't going to buck you.

Hiroyuki Sawano is a legend. I don't know if the man is blessed by a god but it feels like it as dam he makes bangers. Some of his best music is usually in some underrated anime. Like Re:Creators has some bangers like God of Ink, Brave Ocean or Layers. Of course he's done music for Kill la kill, 86, KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS (Also done by Studio Wit (AOT s1-3) but obviously not a popular work of theirs but it's decent). Personal favourite of mine is Satsuki Kiryuin Theme from Kill la KIll. Think Imperial march from star wars but anime.

    Overlord OPs are all bops.
They're also relatively complex for rocky punch-you-in the face metal, pop anime songs.
It's also a great show you should check out.

Its amazing how this song conveys so much despite having no lyrics... personally, I feel it isnt inferior to call of silence

Hey Tony! Love your videos! I'm sure you would love to react to the ost "Counterattack Mankind". Its a 2 part ost so it means you have more to breakdown in a single video (which means more fun for us :))

Enjoyed getting your thoughts on this one. There's plenty of other AoT OST suggestions that worth a listen but if you're looking for something non-AoT related I'd recommend Tower Of God. For example "Irregular God" and "Shinsu" by Kevin Penkin. Very different sounding but some of my favourites.

I recommend you to react to some musics from a brazilian RPG called Ordem Paranormal. I suggest "Spiralem Melodiam Pt. 1" and "Gal". They made a phenomenal job and as a fan of the project I think it would be interesting to hear the opinion of someone outside of the contry about their work

Hey Tony, love your reactions. I'd recommend you to listen to the Thanks AT ost by Hiroyuki Sawano. It is in my opinion the most beautiful and most emotional Aot Soundtrack, which is played in some very important moments of the anime.

You should definitely look at the Hunter x Hunter OST if you're looking for another show's music to get into. Similar to JoJo's, there are tracks or "themes" dedicated to different characters, groups, as well as settings in the show. However, it is mainly orchestral if I can recall correctly, but it does utilize other instruments as well. Some ones to check out that I can remember off the top of my head are Hegemony of the Food Chain, Kingdom of Predators, and Restriction and Pledge.
One thing to note is that the individual soundtracks are often short as the show switches between them constantly during the episodes, you'll be hard pressed to find one single OST that goes on for more than 2 minutes. Additionally, many of the soundtracks are very similar in feel and often sound. They will often be used following each other (An example in the show would be In The Palace ~ Lamentoso and In The Palace ~ Agitato). Finally, the tone of the music usually follows the tone of the arc that the show is in, an arc being a chunk of the show that tells a specific story. So more positive, adventurous, and bright arcs like The Hunter Exam Arc or The Greed Island Arc will have soundtracks to match, and more dark and gritty arcs like The Yorknew Auction Arc and The Chimera Ant Arc will have more dark and somber soundtracks to match. So with all that, it might be difficult to listen to standalone soundtracks, as you get a much more cohesive experience just watching the show (IMO).
