This performance features some of the most insane vocal runs I have heard in my life, hands down. It's feel that every person who was a part of that performance is legendary at what they do.
Another important thing to note that a lot of people gloss over is that the main singer in several songs isn't actually singing in her native language of Japanese, but is actually singing in German and in English as well.
the writing in general in attack on titan is great. all the way from the story and characters to the music is just a masterpiece. having hiroyuki sawano as the composer for isayama's story is something I never knew I needed. they're both awesome at their work it's stunning
Couldn't disagree more. I don't understand when people says that AoT is only great becoz sawano is behind the music, when in fact it goes hand in hand. Composers can create moving music and great one's like this because they have a story to tell. And on this anime its the plot of AOT. Compare this ost to the other ost that sawano had made and you can tell that this is one of his personal best creation. And why is that? Because of how great the story was created by isayama. Another one with great moving ost from sawano would be the Blue Dragon, which again had a great storyline.

What i find so amazing is that in so much of the soundtrack for this show, there is a kind of marching feel in the percussion that fits SO well with the titans footsteps just crashing down and echoing out in the distance. I always hear it when i listen, and the points where it swells just make it feel like "somebody bout to get chomped" It's ominous, subtle, perfect.
Damn.. watching this just kind of gave me a newfound appreciation of Hiroyuki Sawano's music. And just for the amount of talent in that room in general. I appreciated it before but now I appreciate it even more. AoT soundtrack is truly one of a kind and Hiroyuki Sawano is a genius of his own class. Agreed so much for what you said about what it takes for a person to even think of these things no less translate them to other people in a way that it can be made into actual music. It's just crazy and awesome to think.. Hope you have a great time with AoT! It is one of a kind show too for sure
First, take my sub, that was great. Second, you do really need to watch more of this show if you haven't. To me the most beautiful part of this music is how well it represents the feelings of the characters you are watching, making AOT an absolute masterpiece. Keep up the good work!

I put off watching it here and there because I can only take so much genuine heartbreak. But it is so SO good. If only 1/4 of anime had characters so easy to love, hate, empathize with...
Honestly my favorite thing about AOT is the sound. All of it, the soundtrack, sound mixing, sound design, even the voice acting is excellent. They always know how to use it just right. Makes the story resonate that much more! Great video!

Truly this video did a good job of capturing at most some 50% of the musical ideas presented in all the soundtracks. I love the fact that the composer made it because it gives people who have less time a quick way of getting to hear a lot of it. If you listen to the albums, especially the season 2 and 3 albums, there is so much interplay between the different melodic ideas and songs, that you really get an even higher perception of his genius. Guy truly made something eternal here.
Thanks for the video. I enjoyed this half hour with you analyzing this brilliant masterpiece which is full of emotions. If you watched the show this music will touch your heart. For me as a musician, i can only say that these artists were so much attached to the show and its characters which made them expressing the emotions so accurate more than only singing. Regards and keep up the good work.

Circling back to this music reaction. I just watched a Hiroyuki Sawano NZK LIVE this month (NHK Hall). They're truly one of one. Their music heals my depression. I will be coming back for more, definitely. If aliens or monsters decide to conquer the world, I would prefer their music to be played when the Armageddon or Ragnarok comes.
This brings back so much emotions, so much great memories, so much feelings from the show . Like the feeling of joy, feeling of emtiness, feeling of betrayal, feeling of love, feeling of sadness and the feeling of happiness. There are so much talent behind this show, so much skills , so much hardwork and so much dadication.. AoT is one of the greatest piece of media out there. At least to me..
Omg, thank you so much for reacting to this video. I always recommend it because I think AoT is a masterpiece but the incredible music elevates it to a whole new level. The guy on the piano is the composer for the music in seasons 1-3. Season 4 soundtrack is mainly composed by another guy who also made an amazing job. I don't know you so I can't assure you're gonna love the story (jk you probably will) but the music alone already worths the journey. And in case you decide to react/listen to another tracks before watching the show, I hugely recommend to ask someone who has already watched it to find the sources for you because there're lots of videos with massive spoilers out there. You see that pianist there , yep that the genius ,writing this music , hiroyuki sawano himself.
And every other musicians and singer re alo great
This performance features some of the most insane vocal runs I have heard in my life, hands down.
It's feel that every person who was a part of that performance is legendary at what they do.
Another important thing to note that a lot of people gloss over is that the main singer in several songs isn't actually singing in her native language of Japanese, but is actually singing in German and in English as well.
Whenever I hear "Counter Attack-Mankind" track, I'm still amazed and grateful to Sawano for this great track.
@@mayrake Always brings chills and almost tears, by far my favorite instrumental track
wow that girl's voice is really good it gives me chills
Hearing all these osts all over again reminds me of every single action scene from aot from A to Z literally
literally scenes flashing in my head
i tear up listening every time
Yup. But that Reiner and Berthold betreyal track just made me think of that scene when I first saw it.
the writing in general in attack on titan is great. all the way from the story and characters to the music is just a masterpiece. having hiroyuki sawano as the composer for isayama's story is something I never knew I needed. they're both awesome at their work it's stunning
@@roxroe6731 "Couldn't disagree more"? I don't understand how anything I said contradicted with you I literally said everything from the writing of the character to the writing of the plot to the writing of music was perfect. I never said it's only great because of the music. I don't even understand how you got that from what I said I couldn't be more clear
@@roxroe6731 personally I think this and unicorn are his best works but in general all his works are so good
I could say Attack on Titan have the best soundtrack of all tv shows. The ways Sawano craft that music and the fact it perfectly fit to the show it's just simply amazing masterpiece.
TV alone? I'd say this hits even the top tiers of movie scoring as well 🤌
@@kaedence____ true. Sawano is literally on another level.
AoT definitely has one of the best soundtracks of any anime
Yea I think AOT kinda stomps in the anime department but bleach, Hxh, my hero is top tier
Aot is a masterpiece
Plot, animation, characters,op and end, all ost everything
No matter what ppl say
It has been the best anime
SO TRUE, some may hate cause it became an anime that stands with big shows
@@ezmahkingston5066 facts
Everything?
Do you know about the ending?
@@wb6012 i am that anime watcher who is eagerly waiting for the ending...so dont spoil😂 knw bits still.. i even bought the last volume of the manga but not reading it🙈😂
@@wb6012 I do know, and it is not that bad but ruched, how could 1 chap or 1 panel ruin for u all the fun and amazing journey u had with story, if it did u didnt deserve this masterpiece
Eliana and Ai Higuchi are unmatched in high notes truly god gifted vocals can do that!!!
I will never get over this suite. Having seen the show it just evokes all the feelings I had when watching it. Just amazing
The show and the story are beautiful as much as this music, and whenever this music play in the show it's the unforgettable Scenes
The dude composing all this is actually the guy on the piano. All his music is amazing! Big fan!
19:56 one of my favorite soundtracks, i get chills everytime
The cool thing about AoT is that the composers come back every season to revamp soundtracks based on the tone and theme of the story. I'm so glad to have bumped into you reacting to this. I recommend you watching the anime - what you will experience is not only one of the best soundtracks of any show, but one of the best stories and protagonist in fiction, PERIOD.
So glad AoT is on a boom.
You're really learned and cultured and I would like to see you react to this story on the channel. Cheers mate 💪
You know it only on composer right ? Hiroyuki Sawano season 1-3 and kotha is doing the last seasons
@@joeld5338 yeah I'm aware
07:10 that's him, that the attack titan 😨😨😨😨 mappa did an amazing job on that last scene
What i find so amazing is that in so much of the soundtrack for this show, there is a kind of marching feel in the percussion that fits SO well with the titans footsteps just crashing down and echoing out in the distance. I always hear it when i listen, and the points where it swells just make it feel like "somebody bout to get chomped"
It's ominous, subtle, perfect.
It still amazes me how much effort is put into an anime
Damn.. watching this just kind of gave me a newfound appreciation of Hiroyuki Sawano's music.
Amazing, so fun hearing what someone who knows music thinks.
First, take my sub, that was great. Second, you do really need to watch more of this show if you haven't. To me the most beautiful part of this music is how well it represents the feelings of the characters you are watching, making AOT an absolute masterpiece. Keep up the good work!
Hiroyuki Sawano is a music marvel of our time. The twisted and complex world and story of AOT is perfectly complimented by his compositions. Great vid
You hit the money on how the OSTs attracts you to watching the show. That’s how it literally started for me.
Have yet to meet somebody who wasn't blown away by the singer's voice in this one.
It’s crazy Attack on titan is the only anime that had me emotional, for the first time I felt feelings towards a character or group. It’s mind boggling
I put off watching it here and there because I can only take so much genuine heartbreak. But it is so SO good. If only 1/4 of anime had characters so easy to love, hate, empathize with...
Only other show I can really say this for was Edgerunners
Please do keep us updated on how Attack on Titan goes for you as you continue watching it! It's story is just as heavenly as its music~
Hiroyuki Sawano is a genius
The music by itself is already masterful but hearing it while watching the anime is just magical
Honestly my favorite thing about AOT is the sound. All of it, the soundtrack, sound mixing, sound design, even the voice acting is excellent. They always know how to use it just right. Makes the story resonate that much more! Great video!
Sound is just as crucial as visuals, sound adds impact, and helps push emotion is some scenes
@@avixs1543 oh I agree I'm not down-playing the impact sound has on films/tv. What I'm saying is attack on titan used it excellently, like to it's full "potential" if that makes sense.
I discovered this on accident and wow....❤ 🎶, the first singer Eliana gives me the chills during that first song.
It’s so cool how they have songs in German since a lot of characters have German names. Great little detail
The city in the walls is inspired by a german city too
@@ivarsvensson9430the whole anime is inspired by Germany in the 1940s (Eldians being like the Jews)
I truly love that this masterpiece is in german. As a german myself maybe i can translate a bit for you: With Sadness and Despair in the hearts, we show the will to continue.
I don't know what's more brilliant, the story in the show or the soundtrack...
Both are incredibly goated
definitely the soundtrack for me. loved the anime from s1 to end of s3 but s4 was a total mess
The vocals together with background is just top-notch
Masterpiece !! they are from another planet !! very high level !!
Whoever work for Sawano as drum recording engineer. He/she deserved a medal for that full bodied sound of the drum.
I wanna give this a thousand likes wow thank you for the great reaction. This anime series probably has the best soundtrack out there and they never disappoint season to season. This was interesting to watch!
I dont know if you seen any of Kevin Penkin's soundtracks but he does amazing music for animes like Hiroyuki Sawano. His Made in Abyss songs are particularly my favorite
He's underrated af
1000% agreed. The Made in Abyss soundtrack is fantastic!
Attack on Titan and every single soul involved in making of this, made history
My absolute FAVORITE use of this song is at the end episode 87. It's used SO PERFECTLY THERE. i Love it
I love how you're so serious through it all and i'm here fangirling about each song. Sawano is a genius composer.
This music brings back all those AOT scenes, making me wanna cry here haha
Its not the show that is worthy of the soundtrack, its the soundtrack that is worthy of the show
I've been waitn for someone to finally react to this 🙌🏾🙌🏾
I really loved it
that's a reference to AoT. One of the BIG moments
It's the best
I'm sorry for the long comment, I just loved the video 😂
Hiroyuki Sawano like teasing us with his music and idk what is the correct term in music but his music often have 2 layers which go completely opposite direction and I’m surprised it created a really powerful contrast
Sawano Composing is absolute godlike. He's the Hans Zimmer of the eastern room with ppl like kohta yamato :D.
Every Qualityaspect in the Animeshow Aot is maximized, so best possible Artstyle, Animation; Sountrack compositions for certain moments; Voice actors, Storyline. And if you like western shows like GOT and so on, Aot is like the same genre but has better ratings per episode :D This Music is btw connected with the story and foreshadowed events 8years before they appeared in the Anime. Most of the Soundtracks mika kobayashi is singing are in german lyrics built through symbolic foreshadows :D
Get that Artwork on your UA-camchannel as a reaction :p
Imagine how badass you gotta be on PAR with Hans zimmer
I can definitely hear some Black Rain and The Lion King score influences in Sawano's music for AoT. The pre-Pirates of the Caribbean Zimmer that I love!
Unparalleled, AOT, TRULY Amazing. Gorgeous, can’t say enough about !
The first song is the main theme of attack of titan since season 1 and the lyrics is still reflects the what happened in the final season.
i love this soundtrack so much! really enjoyed hearing your thoughts. i appreciate compositions so much aswell, the fact someone can create a piece of art like this and realize it with so many people is just amazing!!! 😍
always love to see people can appreciate good music!
I just hope they played these songs a lot more often, bc there are so many amazing scenes that can be supported with these amazing music
I’ve been looking for this reaction since ever. I know the video is “old” but his reaction it’s just priceless. 🔥🔥🔥
It is never OLD.
It never gets old
It can never get old 😅
AoT is such a unique experience. Not only is it the best series of all time, but it has the music to back it up. It's one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. I used to love Hans Zimmer growing up, but now? Swano is just pure genuis, I love that he incorperates a lot of rock, metal and electronic styles into his pieces. While the music is perfect on its own, I think watching the series with the music makes it 10x as impactful.
True, without sawano music we wouldnt have the chills we had in reiner first reveal as a titan in season2
Sawano also did a live medley for the Gundam Unicorn anime OST, which is also a huge testament to how awesome his compositions are.
AOT !!! Yesss this is my favorite reaction now 😭 i got tears from this!!! This is fucking amazing I never would have thought of everything you pointed out and never thought you would look into anime 😍 I’m loving the variety/diversity/different music/genre/ taking music from all over the globe on here! You have to watch the anime so worth it I am still in shock and the Story/Music ….
👏 just 👏 gets 👏 better 👏
Hiroyuki Sawano is one of my favourite compositors this man is hella wild there isn't single piece i didn't love
AoT is unmatched when it comes to music and storyline, the music is so good that make everyone saying hiroyuki sawano is on the same level as hans Zimmer or second btw my fav song from him is Ataek 0n taitn
