그 때에 대제사장 엘리아십이 그의 형제 제사장들과 함께 일어나 양문을 건축하여 성별하고 문짝을 달고 또 성벽을 건축하여 함메아 망대에서부터 하나넬 망대까지 성별하였고
그 다음은 여리고 사람들이 건축하였고 또 그 다음은 이므리의 아들 삭굴이 건축하였으며
어문은 하스나아의 자손들이 건축하여 그 들보를 얹고 문짝을 달고 자물쇠와 빗장을 갖추었고
그 다음은 학고스의 손자 우리아의 아들 므레못이 중수하였고 그 다음은 므세사벨의 손자 베레갸의 아들 므술람이 중수하였고 그 다음은 바아나의 아들 사독이 중수하였고
그 다음은 드고아 사람들이 중수하였으나 그 귀족들은 그들의 주인들의 공사를 분담하지 아니하였으며
옛 문은 바세아의 아들 요야다와 브소드야의 아들 므술람이 중수하여 그 들보를 얹고 문짝을 달고 자물쇠와 빗장을 갖추었고
그 다음은 기브온 사람 믈라댜와 메로놋 사람 야돈이 강 서쪽 총독의 관할에 속한 기브온 사람들 및 미스바 사람들과 더불어 중수하였고 (느헤미야 3:1-7)
Then Eliashib the high priest rose up with his brethren the priests, and they builded the sheep gate; they sanctified it, and set up the doors of it; even unto the tower of Meah they sanctified it, unto the tower of Hananeel.
And next unto him builded the men of Jericho. And next to them builded Zaccur the son of Imri.
But the fish gate did the sons of Hassenaah build, who also laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
And next unto them repaired Meremoth the son of Urijah, the son of Koz. And next unto them repaired Meshullam the son of Berechiah, the son of Meshezabeel. And next unto them repaired Zadok the son of Baana.
And next unto them the Tekoites repaired; but their nobles put not their necks to the work of their LORD.
Moreover the old gate repaired Jehoiada the son of Paseah, and Meshullam the son of Besodeiah; they laid the beams thereof, and set up the doors thereof, and the locks thereof, and the bars thereof.
And next unto them repaired Melatiah the Gibeonite, and Jadon the Meronothite, the men of Gibeon, and of Mizpah, unto the throne of the governor on this side the river. (Nehemiah 3:1-7, KJV)
대제사장 엘리아십이 동료 제사장들과 함께 나서서, '양 문'을 만들어 하나님께 바치고, 문짝을 제자리에 달았으며, '함메아 망대'와 '하나넬 망대'까지 성벽을 쌓아서 봉헌하였다.
그 다음은 여리고 사람들이 쌓았고, 또 그 다음은 이므리의 아들인 삭굴이 쌓았다.
'물고기 문'은 하스나아의 자손이 세웠다. 문틀을 얹고 문짝을 달고, 빗장과 빗장둔테를 만들어 달았다.
그 다음은 학고스의 손자요 우리야의 아들인 므레못이 보수하였고, 그 다음은 므세사벨의 손자요 베레갸의 아들인 므술람이 보수하였으며, 그 다음은 바아나의 아들인 사독이 보수하였다.
그 다음은 드고아 사람이 보수하였는데, 그들 집안의 어떤 유력자들은 공사 책임자들에게 협조하지 않았다.
'옛 문'은 바세아의 아들인 요야다와 브소드야의 아들인 므술람이 보수하였다. 문틀을 얹고 문짝을 달고, 빗장과 빗장둔테를 만들어 달았다.
그 다음은 기브온 사람 믈라댜와 메로놋 사람 야돈이 유프라테스 서쪽 지방의 총독 아래에 있는 기브온 사람들과 미스바 사람들을 데리고 보수하였다.(새번역)
