*cleans the lens before leaving... still ends up dirty*
Sorry about that guys, I've tried filming this twice now and I did end up cutting a few things out of this video that may have been helpful but I'm happy with how it turned out minus the smudge on the lens.
Hope you enjoy this :)
EDIT: If you find this patronizing I do apologize, obviously I don't mean to intentionally come across that way however I've done my CBT with people older and younger, people that have very little or no experience at all and still found it to be quite easy, I'm sure a lot of you can agree.
If you did find this video patronizing there are many other videos out there that are more helpful and in depth than mine, I just wanted to give people my personal advice, as someone that started with very little experience when I did my CBT I did find it very straightforward, obviously not everyone is going to find it easy which I understand completely.
I just want to give people confidence and let them know that this isn't something that is very hard to achieve and that it is actually quite straightforward. Believe me I was so nervous and I messed up on a few things but they guide you through it to help you complete your CBT.
Reevy hi mate, doing mine a little late, 40,s lol, not even driven a car before, always just commuted to work, but covid has put me right off public transport. Just want a bike for commuting about to work, do they get you on the duel carriage way ect, fast roundabouts? I’m Beijing it to be honest lol, but sad I know 😂
Yeah mate they're not too bad on dual carriageways, you'll get up to the legal speed limit no problem, depends what bike you're going for really. I have a naked bike so it's like riding into a wall of wind on motorways 🤣 you should be alright mate, if you can ride a bicycle you'll be fine on a motorcycle 😉
Reevy cheers mate, booked up for this Sunday, 👍
@@ReevyMotovlogs have mine on wensday this video has made me less anxious that bud
I’ve just passed my CBT on Sunday and loved it. I didn’t see this video before it but for anyone seeing this video before their CBT it definitely has great tips and a good insight of what to expect. My best tip is to RELAX, listen to your instructor and go at your own pace. You’ll smash it 💪🏽
Glad it was helpful!
What about element F where you wheelie around the car park and the local industry estate. Reckon you nailed that part 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That's an easter egg but I don't tell secrets 😉
Reevy mod 3 🤣
Got my cbt tomorrow, your videos chilled me out and the comments have helped too had a laugh at a few of them fingers crossed I pass
Great video, clear advice and tips, I have my cbt on 17.10.2020. The t in cbt was test until I watched this, I'm a mature lady and this video as calmed my fears. Thanks.
You're going to do great Beverley 😊 good luck!
great advice good video ive done 2 CBTs I'm going to do my full licence ive got my full car licence so some of the road stuff I know but its good to recap as well good video keep up with the good videos
Great video! Thank you for the tips! Hoping to take my CBT in the next year!
Completed my cbt the other day, i was very nervous the entire day but when we went on the road i actually enjoyed it so to anyone still yet to do their cbt try not to worry about it, everything is thoroughly explained and most importantly its not a test it also helped that i had a very fun and outgoing instructor that calmed my nerves
Glad you had a good experience! :)
Just commenting to say the same. I was very nervous but the road ride was so fun
These are really useful tips.Thank you!😁
Glad it was helpful!
Got my CBT next month this has helped a lot
Great advice! Keep em coming!
You got it!
Thanks for this can't wait till I do mine next month
Good luck!!
Perfect video, exactly what I need.
Thanks mate!!🤟
Cheers man hopefully it was useful lol
I'm doing my cbt in two days, and I'm super nervous. This video made me realise it's a lot more than chill than I initially thought
Mines in 2 days too
My cbt is tomorrow this makes me feel more calm
I'm planning on doing my CBT around Dec 11th this year since my 17th is on the 10th of Dec. Im real excited for it.
Good luck man, you got this!
KEEP UP THE CONTENT!!
Cheers bro
Got my CBT friday im shitting it this video helped me calm down and relax. Thank you sooooo much
got my cbt at 9am tomorrow tryna make sure am ready
CBT tomorrow, I'm 18 and have zero experience riding but I've already bought a MT 125 so I have extra pressure to get this CBT certificate ASAP. I'm nervous, excited and just full of all sorts of emotions, never driven anything on the road ever. Thanks for the tips bro I will take this onboard. I think the main thing for me is to just have fun, its not a pass or fail, it just takes some people longer and we are all naturally good and bad at different things, I guess that's apart of being human. Good luck everyone and I'll come back to this post when I get that certificate !
@Anonymous passed it first time, very nervous but you won’t go on the road until you feel confident on the bike and the instructor thinks your ready. I ended up passing today but I say first time because I completed elements A-D on day 1 but then the weather got really bad so the element E part was delayed until today so we had a recap on the private road first. Very nervous but after about 10 minutes of riding with instructor in front of me the nerves left and it became very enjoyable. The microphone was awful however. I’ve just road my mt 125 with no assistance and CBT passed and I’m absolutely shit scared ahahaha
@@virtualrob7360 Great story Rob & congratulations.
Got my CBT in 2 weeks & yes shitting myself as there is so much money (new bike, insurance, helmet, clothes, boots ect) tied up in it.
@@baldvale5418 ye if I could go back in time I definitely would of done my cbt first because that added pressure to get it done asap is in the back of your mind whether u like it or not 😂 tbh tho it might be an advantage, because I think although I was very nervous, it made me super alert of everything, and that really does help out on the road. Hope your cbt goes well mate, remember it’s not the end of the world if it takes you a couple of goes, and don’t beat yourself down if you don’t do it first time, because it can also be down to how good the instructor is at explaining things, it’s not necessarily your fault. Goodluck 👍
@@virtualrob7360 Thank you very much Rob 👍
Iv'e got my cbt in a weeks time, Iv'e just bought a yzfr125 and am feeling the same way you were lol. Also never been on the road on anything other than dirtbikes, seeing your story gives me hope :)
got my CBT tomorrow, nervous but exited!
Good luck!
How'd it go?
@@chobbs3384 Yeah it went well, i passed
Appreciate the advice got my CBT on Sunday!
Good luck!
How did it go bro?
Did good, out on a Mutt 125 now!
James Gill good to hear, any tips for doing the CBT? What did u have to do
@@musicuploadsuk just don’t bite the instructor
Love those handlebars
They're stock, pretty good :)
Sick video bro
Appreciate it
Cheers dude. Had a watch of this last night, was nice to get a run through in my head so I knew what to expect. Went and did it today and was a great day :)
Thanks dude.
I have my cbt next week nervous as hell as haven’t a clue about bikes but really want to do it this video helps a lot
Good luck Jayne, try not to be nervous.
Just remember it’s only training so if you do make any mistakes like I did when I first started riding they’re usually very calm and nice about it, probably just tell you to take a few deep breaths, stay calm and try again.
You can do it!
@@ReevyMotovlogs Thankyou I’ll let you know if I pass 👍
I passed my cbt yesterday I’m literally on a high
I think the issue with the CBT (just had mine) is you dont really touch the gears off road, second yes but nothing more. Then when you get on road you need to move up and down the gears.
A few things to mention about mine:
It was very busy in town,
I was made to do the u turn on a hill and it completely threw me off,
You may have car drivers doing stupid things. I had a couple pull out in front of me even after looking directly in my eyes
I went 50mph at one point and thought i was doing 150.
The country roads will probably be your favourite.
Finally, dont be sad or disappointed if you find it difficult. It is training after all. As long as youre safe you can practice all your bad points over time.
Really helpful mate 😊
Thank you great tips👍👍👍👍
I think alot has changed in terms of motorcycle clothes more slim fit and tapered cargo kevlar hi tec attire and the electric automatic bikes coming out now. It's really moving forward.
Ive got my CBT next week , I haven’t ridden a bike (legally) since i was 16/17 , im now 48 , i feel very confident and cant wait to get out on the road ! Great video ! Some good tips 👍
Really helpful video, thanks! 👍 hope the girl was Ok!
Glad you enjoyed! :)
Phoenix mct lent me boots to do my CBT, dumped the clutch in a panic so I'm going back later this year.
got my cbt tomorrow this vid really helps
Good luck man!
@@ReevyMotovlogs sooooo just finished and didn't get the cbt as I it was really raining when I started my 2hr ride and I fell of an hour in coming into a roundabout hahaha loved doing it tho was actually really fun
@@harrisonmccolgan7856 ah damn, conditions aren't the best lately, even I hate riding in this weather. You'll smash it the second time 💜
@@ReevyMotovlogs cheers dude loving the content keep up the good work
im doing my cbt in less than two days time and i cant wait to be out on the road
I’m doing my cbt in like 3 months I think, I can’t wait
Good luck bro :)
Why is it booked so far away? Booked mine last week and got it on Monday
@@ReevyMotovlogs thanks 🙏
@Caylan Fountain not yet I’m hopefully doing it very soon though because I’m 16 now
@@dxncerr1233 it’s booked like that because I wasn’t 16 yet
Got my CBT on thursday, hopefully i get the certificate becuase it would mean a lot for me
Cool 👍😎👍 thanks man 🙂
No problem 👍
Got my CBT tomorrow
Got mine this Friday bricking it
Nothing to worry about mate, you'll smash it :)
Good luck, I’m sure you’ll do just fine, Mine’s on Saturday so let me know how you get on
Really good video, I have my cbt on Monday and not gonna like I’m bricking it! I have even brought my first bike to 2021 kowasaki ninja 125 so I’m really hoping will go well it’s just my nerves tbh :-(
Doing my cbt Sunday 11th July 2021.
Could you do a video on gear recommendations? Like jackets, trousers, gloves and helmets. Especially in cold weather since, well, it's England.
ua-cam.com/video/6MwCbZWMM6g/v-deo.html will be doing individual reviews too!
@@ReevyMotovlogs hell yeah! Thanks a lot Reevy
Got mine this Sunday
Good luck!
nice man good video! I was so nervous on my cbt haha
Same, I was bricking in then near the end I was like wow not so bad tbh lol
Looking at doing my CBT never drove anything but a really old tractor in a field at 3 miles a hour so aye ahha
I've got my cbt tomorrow
Good luck!
>the cbt is the easiest thing you'll manage to do on your motorcycle
me who failed it and is watching this to go over what I need to know so I can practice it
😬
i just booked my cbt
watching this on the night before my cbt. will update tomorrow to say how it went!
How did ya get on?
How did it go ?
Legend has it, he's still out there, doing his CBT.
i just passed my CBT, main thing i struggled to adjust to was how sensitive the throttle was, felt like i was over revving all the time coming from a diesel car
doing my cbt in a week cant wait but feel nervous
No need to be nervous mate, you’ll breeze through it! Soon as you get on the bike you’ll be one step closer to getting on the road ☺️
I have my cbt on Saturday and I’m gonna use this as a guitar for Saturday and will let you know if I pass or fail lol
Did you pass brother?
My cbt is Sunday 2/6/21. Aghh I’m so nervous bro
Then mod 1 and mod 2 week after
I have mine tomorrow 😬🤞
Good luck!
@@ReevyMotovlogs i passed bro 💪
Doing my CBT on the 12th of November! I personally grew up around bikes but never actually learnt how to ride one haha, perks of being the daughter of a clubber (overprotective uncles who aren’t your actual uncles!)
Good luck on your CBT and aww that sucks, at least you'll be out riding soon! 😉
@@ReevyMotovlogs Thank you! Your video was definitely really helpful and calmed my nerves haha
@@anarky2353 I'm glad to hear that, I was told I'm patronising by someone because I said it was easy 😳 just out here trying to make people feel confident and I'm glad it calmed your nerves. I have really bad anxiety and doubt myself a lot, even I was really nervous about my CBT and found it to be a great experience and very fun even for people that have never been on a motorcycle before.
Hope you complete your CBT, let me know how you get on :)
@@ReevyMotovlogs Aw that’s sad to hear, a lot of people are just right gits about it. You’re helping a lot of younger and older people know about what you need to pay attention to in the CBT or above the CBT! Also, a really unfortunate note that my CBT course was cancelled due to the U.K. Lockdown :( will have to rebook it for after December.
Do you need any lessons before it as I’ve never ridden a motor bike
My CBT is tomorrow
Good luck Skye!
How was it? 👍
Got my CBT in an hour, thank you so much.
I passed! Thanks Reevy! That helped so much! ☺️
@@CaptainMagenta6 i have mine in a few hours, i’m doing it on a twist and go, did you have to do a theory test about the signs and what to do in some situations?
No theory but it helps. It's just basics on road usage, how to navigate junctions, handle the bike and how to gain control on the road. It isn't as hard as you'd think, just stay positive.
First half will show you how the bike works on a course on site, prior to that you'll gain basic knowledge of the bike of course. After that, you'll be taken out on the roads with an instructor who will help guide you along the way. You can't fail unless you're really bad but trust me, you got this more than you think.
I had no confidence to start with but as soon as I hit the throttle, it felt natural.
Hope you pass, let me know. 👍🏼
@@CaptainMagenta6 thank you man, thank you, 1. how long was you out riding for 2. is it hard to understand what they are telling you on where to go because i’ve been watching videos is some people do it and it’s hard making out what they say, and yea i will let you know how it goes and hopefully i pass, just gotta think positive, do they lend boots and that? i have a helmet and gloves and my own bike but i’m going to borrow one. thanks for the luck,i’ll for sure need it 🤣
Took a few hours. Wasn't that bad and yeah they'll tell you where to go, you get wired ear pads inside the helmet and they'll follow behind you guiding you what to do. Trust me, do to be nervous.
I bought a 2012 gsxr 600 and not even done a cbt yet...🤣🤣
How far is the 20.5 meter eyesight test? I’m hoping to do my cbt at the end of the month but just worried incase my eyes let me down because I have awful vision at long distance and contacts don’t improve it that much for me
It's a decent distance but what I'd do is just find a parked car, take roughly 60 steps back and see if you can read it :)
What if you don’t know road signs
Cool, it's called ibt over here 🙂 it's easy 🙂
It is super easy but my brothers friend somehow managed to not get awarded his CBT certificate :(
@@ReevyMotovlogs 😂 that's mad
I'm new to this, do you have to have a provisional before taking a CBT or not?
Yes you need a provisional :)
God. I have my cbt on tuesday and what i havent trained is emergency braking, downshifting smoothly. I can do everything okay but im still nervous
How’d it go!?
@@user-ky3km3cm5e passed. Was really easy! Now im just enjoying my bike
Just one question do they take you on to public roads at anytime or does it all take place at the centre
On road and at the centre
@@ReevyMotovlogs thanks dude cheers for the video helped a lot 🤘
See if you do something wrong while driving first time on the practical thingy is that a fail or you still pass?
You would have to do something seriously wrong like crash into another vehicle, fall off or just something really stupid.
They are usually alright with small mistakes, the bike I used to do my CBT had a really weird biting point and I kept messing up when I first started and they just talked me through it, adjusted it for me and got my CBT at the end of the day :)
@@ReevyMotovlogs thanks for your quick reply.
I’ve never driven a bike, can you just tell me if you have to use clutch when you starting using your brakes?
Im 43 and I used to be epileptic so I never had any need to learn the highway code, im quite comfortable on a bike but can anyone advise me on exactly what to study for my cbt? I bought a book but its bigger than a bible, and with me working full time ill never be able to read it all and take it in,any tips?
For a cbt you won’t need to learn anything, they basically tell you everything you need to know, just train you and you’re good to go!
@@ReevyMotovlogs thanks I actually feel a little more relaxed about it now
Got it in 1 week I'll update how it went
And i passed 20 mins ago thank god
My helmet goes steamy when I'm wearing it can you have you visor up during your cbt
Yes should be fine
Get a pinlock mate
what is the speed limit once you have past ?
Depends on the road you're riding on...
@@ReevyMotovlogs 😂
I got rear ended by a scooter on my cbt lol
I still feel like the cbt is not enough training to let 16 or 17 year olds loose on the road
I did a vid on braking a few weeks ago too similar points I make in that, not edited it yet though...
I agree with you there, it's too easy.
Pooley just done mine today and really struggled, thought there was too much implied knowledge for one day
@@ronaldbear1 Rather the lack of knowledge they provide 😉😂
@@ronaldbear1 the unfailable 'test'....... just take it steady and get to grips with the machine in your own time. Experience comes with time, as well as good mentoring!!
Cbt is easy ladies and Gentlemen, its not a test its training
💯
Is cbt 1 on 1 or is there a bunch of people?
Depends how many people turn up but usually 2-3 others
@@ReevyMotovlogs thank you very much
