    Hi my go live day was today, I have the same router as you and the 63mbps service but I am only connected at 53mbps. I switched from Vodafone and was getting the full 63mbps from them, do you think I can do anything to get it back to the full 63mbps or do you think that TalkTalk is just slower or throttles with some kind of configuration at the exchange? My ping was 7ms with Vodafone but it’s 14mbps with this TalkTalk router. I am FTTC, cabinet a couple of streets away. Thanks

      Hello. I hope all is well with you. Im Desi too.
      I have a few people that I speak to in real life but no one I can really share my thoughts with that will actually care what I have to say. I am looking for friends and maybe more.
      People seem so despondent these days. They pay more attention to the online character of themselves they have created than talk to real people/people trying to chat to them online. I was wondering could we talk?

    Thank you very much for this video. I received one of these a few weeks ago when i renewed. As I was setting it up, two things happened that scared me and I immediately disconnected it and went back to my old router. The first thing is I noticed in one of the menus of the router that the server location or something to that effect is in Wuhan China and that was then follow by my iPad Pro giving me a message doubting the authenticity of the device or the trustworthiness of the device. So from your experience, are these normal that can be changed? and did I overreact to them?

    I'm interested in TalkTalk. But I am hesitant to join them as I heard that their new TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub router reboots automatically to install firmware updates every once in a while! Can you confirm if this is indeed the case? Does the router reboot by itself to install latest firmware updates. Also does the router lose sync and reboot by itself?
    I am worried about Sagemcom as a brand. I've had problems in the past with a Sagemcom modem with Tiscali and in recent couple of months my Plusnet Sagemcom 2704N ADSL Router also seems to reboot by itself! I'm looking to join an FTTC provider for the first time this January when my Plusnet contract ends. I've never been with TalkTalk.
    Can I trust the latest Sagemcom router that it will not betray in the same way? And is the TalkTalk service as a provider reliable? No drop-outs?

      @@thedarkartist4978 Unfortunately I already went with TalkTalk in February for £21.95 for 24 month contract for the top 80/20 package. And I can confirm the router not only reboots by itself for the firmware install, but it also reboots every 30 days!
      Yesterday it happened on the 30th day and it coincided with the 1:32pm reboot because that is the time when my router up-time became exactly 30 days yesterday and it was like that last time as well!
      I checked the Firmware version, it is still on TalkTalk Wi-Fi Hub version SG4K10002808t.
      If someone had bothered to respond to my question 3 months ago to tell me that, then I would never have joined TalkTalk! Now it seems the only way to fix the 30 day reboot is to buy an aftermarket router, but not sure if that is rational.
      At least I am paying only £21.95. NOW broadband put me off because their router had only 2 Ethernet ports instead of 4 and it was £30 a month.

    Thanks for making me understand how things are for the Talk Talk install of Fibre in the UK. I had the Asia mindset where you get fibre presented straight to your home so now i know it's going to be copper from the street boxes presented into the home in the usual rj11 wall port. thanks mate!

    • @MrTechtalk
      @MrTechtalk  5 років тому +1

      Yes mate the service you get in Asia is called FTTP (Fibre to the premises) This is something they offer her in the UK but more common is FFTC (Fibre to the cabinet). Its the best of both worlds it offers a decent speed with the infrastructure already in place.

    No usb port for external storage support. hence no poor mans NAS. Lack of Samba functionality means that this router unlike Talktalk's HG633 cannot act as the WORKGROUP master browser. The cost accountants strike again, Talktalk cost cutting. The Master Browser is one computer in a Windows "workgroup" network which maintains a list of the other computers on the network, which it supplies on demand. This avoids the need for all computers to broadcast "I'm here" messages in order to build a list.

    I have this router now they said it’s a better dual router so shouldn’t struggle with multiple devices streaming connected , I do a speed test and it says my speed is good and can stream multiple hd things at the same time no problem , but lags when I play games online and cuts out completely for some reason ????

    • @MrTechtalk
      @MrTechtalk  5 років тому

      There can be many reasons why this is the case. Best thing to do is go on a ISP website like Sky or Talktalk and pop in your post code and see what it says your meant to have. If the figure is miles away from what you have then might be worth looking at your setup and working from there as there may be a fault etc. If you like many miles away from the Cab / Exchange then these all have a negative effect on speed etc.
