I didn't have time to get this TalkTalk Wi-fi router up and running yesterday, so today's the day!

After a quick bit of washing-up and clearing of surfaces, it's time to unbox and set up the TalkTalk router. After lunch, IB turns up and we head out for one of our walks in the woods. Later on, after swigging a cup of tea and munching on handfuls of Bombay Mix, we finish up with a traditional Irish jig called 'I Was Born for Sport' down in FLUTE CAVE.

I'm Imo and she's Izzy. We're a UK mother and daughter vlogging combo that loves to get out and about and exploring South Wales and beyond.
We're a formerly homeschooling/home-educating family of two based in the UK dealing with the daily challenges of managing Izzy's severe, chronic eczema and her education. Thank goodness for your super helpful video. I was SOOOOO annoyed at the prospect of having to do this simple thing for the first time ever. I had worked myself up into quite a temper as I ripped open the box then looked to your guidance for help. you were like a mate showing me and your approach to the “ task” is exactly like me. Great video. I have the same router. After I had been sent lots of free ones via TalkTalk they sent me the same one you now have for free. After 5 faulty routers in total, the D-Link ones were constantly disconnecting from the TalkTalk network, so slower speeds kept being recorded on the Service Centre via the TalkTalk website.
Good thing is that it's a good router, and the firmware is updated as you'd expect automatically.
I had an Openreach Modem supplied with the TalkTalk router when I upgraded to 150mbps onto the Openreach G.Fast connection.
So far so good when using Wi-Fi on laptops and phones.

We don't sort here, we just cram it in the bin. But we do take labels off things and rinse them.
Yeah - we wash everything too. Well we're supposed to. Some people don't. Sometimes people put vile stuff like used kitty litter or gone off food in them and then you see the bin men leave the bags with big stickers on telling them to deal with it according to the rules or get a fine.

It makes a big difference, actually. With out it, the auto contrast on the camera was making the background extra dark if I was too brightly lit and it kind of didn't look so homely somehow...
we don't have bombay mix here in America - but we do have Chex MIx, but it's a different thing altogether

I just bought a Wifi booster from Amazon so that the fellows in the garage/man cave can have a better wifi connection to watch their UA-cams. We will see if it helps.

Brrr! Do you ever do outdoor ice art and stuff like that with the kids? Frozen coloured water in balloons left outside to freeze and that sort of stuff... (then cut off to reveal the frozen orb of course...)

Never heard of that snack. Our snack aisle in Family Dollar looks dismal, pork rinds, potato chips, greasy things. They do sell a fabulous marshmallow chocolate cookie that I can't buy because I would eat too many of them. I only buy when I will share them elsewhere. Had more die of the virus today in our county, it's so tragic for the whole world. Super cold coming here and seems you are getting some, do tell how cold it gets.

I have the same router (just purchased) and have plugged it all in and everything but the amber light constantly flashes on the front and doesn’t change, it doesn’t connect and I don’t know what to do 😩

Ohhh, the dreaded dishes.. am so thankful I have a dishwasher. I do my pans in the sink though along with my good knives and some plastic ware.
Ahhhh.... easy to follow directions with pictures to hook up your router. Makes the job so much easier for sure.;
Seeing that the router has to be plugged into the phone adapter, and you don't have a land line, do you still get charged for using the phone adapter?
Interesting to hear you say you get the beastly weather from Russia, while we at times get what is called "The Pineapple Express" which comes from Hawaii. (wind and lots of rain that can last several days).
Speaking of moving for people on the paths... here in my complex, if I'm out walking the dog, and someone is on the same side sidewalk, either one of us will move across the road to the other side. And then chit chat across the road for a few minutes.. It's actually kind of funny, and we do mention the humorous part of it to each other.. ha The roads in the complex are not as wide as a city street, they are more compact, with just enough room for 2 vehicles to pass. More like a country road I guess.

My mum, through watching the vlogs during lockdown, has pledged to buy me a dishwasher once it's safe to have a man come in to install it! 😂 I will think I've gone to heaven when that happens. That said, this could go on for so long that I'm very tempted to look into the work top ones that just plus onto the taps and squirt down the sink... you've got me thinking now...
Yes, I still pay for my broadband/connection. £28:95 a month, but that's unlimited. I make all my calls on my mobile and mostly through the broadband.

@@PlanetImo .. That's very kind of your mom. Years ago, I had a portable dishwasher. It was a full sized one on wheels. I kept it in a corner of the kitchen, and when needed, I would wheel it to the kitchen sink, attach the water hose to the faucet, and placed the drain hose into the sink. It worked like a darn..
Do you think there’ll ever be more Portugal travel videos? The current situation means it’s hard for anyone this summer, remember the days when you’d go to Bristol airport, and go to Portugal and they’re fun to watch as Portugal is such a beautiful country.

I don't half hope so. I fully intend to do a LOT more of that sort of thing just as soon as it's safe to be able to. Failing that, I'll visit some different places around the UK. I can't even get to Cardiff for the foreseeable future atm due to restrictions. Oh well, it is what it is - I'll just have to keep vlogging at home until we can all get out and about again. I can't wait. I'm a right saddo - I keep watching my old travel vlogs late at night because I miss travelling so much! 😂 Also a lot of other people's too.
