Hiya, you can use a variety of things depending on the exercise. Try looking for something that has a little weight to it but is also easy to grip. For things like the squats swings and glute bridges you can use a back pack filled with books or things that hold weight. (As long as you can execute the movement safely) You can also use water bottles or resistance bands ( they are typically cheaper to purchase, come as a pack with varying resistance and can be used for many exercises). Have a look on Amazon they have plenty of options. Make sure to browse or channel we also have plenty of body weight workouts that you can also do. I hope this helps ❤️❤️

Yes I tend to use a slightly heavier weight for compound moves and a lighter weight for isolation exercises.
