Great job, brother! I just painted a blank guitar with Ed's Kramer 5150 style with the 1984 stripes and numbers. You've reinvigorated me and now it's time to do a Frankie!
Thank you so much for the comment!! I am so happy I could do that for you, have fun brother!
Looking amazing!!
Cool I'm fixing to build one from a guitar rescue black Spectrum Strat so I'm already ahead with the black body
Thanks for the tips man, I just painted my paddles for my rowing shell!
Nice
Nice video! The guitar looks great! It’s so satisfying taking off the tape, isn’t it?!
lol yes I forgot to even record myself peeling after the white coat. I got caught up in it haha
this is great man
Thank you my friend
Hot guitar
This is awesome
Thank you my friend. I love the profile pic 🤣
Hey, good job there. What's the size of the duct tap for first layer ?
Everyone should get my brother famous....😏😏
Great build! I noticed u missed the line going into the two curved lines but on pt2 you painted it what kind of paint did you use? I also missed that line lol
The blue tape stripes on black actually looks pretty cool but it's a little too reminiscent of "back the blue"
It’s just tape, nobody is trying to make it political.
@@shredderscustomguitars9699my bad
Guitar lookin sweet how long did you wait to take the tape off the final product?
Whats the painting process???? Currently working in my frankenstrat body
good job
Thank you!
@@shredderscustomguitars9699 luv you
Nicely done! What width tape did you use for the white?
3/4 inch
really great job! What's the size of the tapes you used before painting it red?
1/8 inch for the pinstripes 1/4 inch and 3/4 inch and 1 inch
thanks! I'm gonna try to make my own Frankie 😁
Great job...but what was the Elmer's Glue for?
I used it like liquid masking take. It dries clear and peels really easily, it really helped to get big splotches of the black paint to show and make some of those tape lines look kinda jagged and not so straight
How long did you wait between spray painting and removing the tape? Thanks.
About a day, thanks for the comment!
@@shredderscustomguitars9699 Thanks for this info!
hi tyty
How hard is it to disassemble and reassemble the wiring on a guitar?
Not very hard, just need to either take pictures of where everything goes or look up a wiring diagram for when you re solder everything. Have fun!
What kind of sanding did you do on the paint so the paint didn’t come off
I think I did a couple sealer coats before the black and scuffed the sealer coats with 320 grit and then wet sanded with 800 grit then 1000 grit between colors to keep everything flat
Did you have issues with any black paint coming off with the tape?
Nope if you don’t do very heavy coats, it fills in nice after about 2-3. Then let the paint set up for a day or so and lightly scuff all over to make sure it isn’t tacky. The tape should go on nice and peel clean.
Also don’t leave the tape on for super long
How long did you wait between painting it black and taping it? Also how long did you wait between painting it white and taking the tape off?
I think about a day or 2 for both
@@shredderscustomguitars9699 Cool thanks. Making my own gonna be painting it today.
@@kirkwahmmett1666 that’s awesome!! Good luck and have fun my friend.
I don't think I'd add the scuff marks. Let those arrive on their own like the King himself did ya know. I doubt Eddie pre scuffed his!
Yeah you’re right I just like the look of them though and I figured over time they will just get better
@@shredderscustomguitars9699 LOL, I was just looking up the pattern for this design so my wife can make me a badass VH tumbler mug 🍺
How can I make it just black with white stripes in satin?
Sealer coats first then sand flat, use some higher grit sandpaper like 600+ then just do a base of black then tape your lines and do a couple coats of white. And then you could probably do some semi gloss clear coats and then sand flat again with high grit sand paper to remove orange peel and do a coat of satin, should look great!
My guitar is already black. I use an LTD EC-401 just want to build it on my own but I don't know how. Do I have to strip off the entire paint off the guitar?
@@Georgian.A-Music do some research and if they did a lacquer finish on your guitar you should just be able to scuff it and paint over it. Unfortunately if it’s polyester you’ll have to sand it all off or else you might have bonding issues with your paint
There should be a color named after Eddie... "Evh Frankenstrat Red".
I know it wasn't HIS color... It was a Schwinn color and all that.
But at this point, it should be his.
Hahah that’s what I’m thinking like Schwinn needs to just come out and rename the color frankenstrat red 🤣
@@shredderscustomguitars9699 just Frankenstrat would be enough.
