    A few years ago I made a video of me making the cheapest Frankenstrat replica I could for under $300 as seen here:
    • How to build a Franken...
    Since then I have had an enormous amount of requests to do another Frankenstrat video making the highest quality replica that I possibly could. So I spared no expense on this build and cut zero corners to create the most authentic and detailed replica possible. This build cost me about $1100 in parts and materials and took nearly 18 hours to complete.
    If you're interested in learning more about this guitar or any other guitar, feel free to send me a message through my facebook page above or send me an email at shelbyfanss at yahoo dot com!

    I love how you can go both ways with building a frankenstrat. You can either go the limited budget route and do it on a tight dime like Eddie did initially, or if you can pony up the dough, you can build a 100% accurate replica and by the end of either you still have a decent playing guitar and not to objectify guitars as wall art but you still also have a great conversation piece in the house that you built yourself. More of a win win in my book.

      Andrew Villarreal nah that pickup was gone when it was painted red. He switched to a mighty mite pickup for a bit, then to a pickup that was specially wound by Seymour Duncan himself and then it was a Dimarzio super distortion. At it’s finally transformation it was a Wolfgang pup and then the guitar was officially retired.

    I played one of the £25k replicas by Fender a few years back at a music shop in the UK and it was quite surreal as Ed himself is documented as saying he could barely tell them apart from the original.

      Because the original had a Charvel neck. The tones on VH1 are the most sought after. Not the tones he got with the Kramer neck

      @@2204JCM The VH1 era of the guitar didn't have any red paint on it yet and used a Fender trem. The Fender Stratocaster headstock is what is currently on the guitar.

      DontEatMyKids if I'm correct
      Eddie put it next to Floyd rose and when he pulled the whammy bar up it stopped the bridge going all the way down making it harder for it to go out of tune

    • @rickfennell7849
      @rickfennell7849 6 років тому

      it was to keep it flush with the body making it a non-floating tremolo. probably so he could tune drop-D and not have the other strings go out of tune.

      The way I understand it was during the big finale at the end of the show when the stage lights were going crazy, Eddie would flip the guitar over and reflect the lights back into the crowd. Leave it to Eddie to come up with something like that.
