I just watched the episode. I am shocked that the burglars got a suspended sentence with so much previous history of crime. I have to blame the police for not putting these villains away.
I now have no faith in our police force(sorry service)
    anymore.

Not the Police, it's the judicial system. The police can only lay charges, try he courts do the rest... in this case the finger needs to point to the judge and jury. Not the police.

What a bizarre comment. The police gather the evidence, CPS make the charging decision then the courts hand out the sentence. Do you think the police are happy these 2 burglars didn't go to prison? They're probably just as frustrated as the general public are

The police tried to put them away ,was the judge that decided. Happens a lot , though I know police responsible in other cases 👍

I don't have much issue with the man being charged, his job to defend his family was complete when the thieves ran off. He didn't need to chase them down the streets in his car that's a strange flex from him that can't go unpunished.
I think what doesn't feel right is that his punishment is more severe than the thieves very hard to fathom that, as his actions are only possible as a result of their actions.

If he had collided into another driver that day, all of you would be switching your tone with a quickness. Especially this so called detective on his left acting like his mum 😅
