Klaus Huber has an interesting philosophical position. Politically, he is a non violent ultra-socialist and pacifist, and in the same time he is deeply Christian. Nothing in the music - not even the fast quotation of a quartet of Beethoven - illustrates the title "Ecce homines", which is in itself quite interesting, being derived from "Ecce homo', by which the Romans designated the Christ suffering his Passion, and used in a critical way by Nietzsche as the title of one of his late books. This evidences the deep meaning of this music for the composer. It implies a close link between Christ and suffering mankind.
