As a 68 year old Beatle fan I’ve had the pleasure of reading Lewisohn’s abridged version of, “Tune In,” but despair in the fact that neither Lewisohn (now 64 years of age) nor I are getting any younger. In October it will be nine years since the first part of the trilogy was published. I’ve heard recent interviews with Lewisohn in which he states that the second part could be as long as two years from completion! I’m not suggesting that Lewisohn cut his research short; rather that he consider publishing shorter segments (e.g., 2nd volume could cover Jan ‘63 to the eve of The Beatles first visit to the US in Feb ‘64), thus having more parts than three - no longer a trilogy but certainly welcome in The Beatle world at large. I don’t think he’ll be discredited for changing the scope of his project.
As these books have been Lewisohn’s sole source of income I understand he’s “taken his show on the road” so to speak - in an effort to generate more income. I’m fine with that but it seems that these talks/lectures would impede his research and ultimate completion of any volume - regardless their length & breadth. Tick tick tick, Mark; the meter on our lives is running!

This time around historians will go over the next volume with a fine tooth comb for his obvious bias.
