09:08 My perspective on cam hip surgery 1 year later - Спорт
I’m 55. Play lots of golf. I had lower back surgery at the beginning of March. L4, L5, S1 Laminectomy. PT and rehab has really helped. We’ve really been focusing on my hip mobility, range of motion, stretching the flexors etc. Everything affects each other. Been enjoying your Vlogs. Cheers from Seattle. I Love Vancouver. Been up there dozens of times.
Thanks for sharing your experience, glad you finally got rid of the pain. Hope you will eventually find a new team to play for and have fun, it's all that matters. Stay safe Trav !
Can’t believe people are criticising you - clearly they have never suffered with a hip injury.
From someone that has had no-lateral resurfacing, just being able to get back is a win, let alone play.
Keep it up Trav
Man trav it’s crazy that’s it’s been a year already man
Glad to hear the whole process
Keep going bro keep grinding man there will be a team that needs you bro
Thanks for sharing your entire experience on your recovery and how it has helped your overall quality of life
thanks for watching bro!
Glad you are feeling better Trav! I have had the same procedure on both of my hips in the past 2 years and they both went well within the first year or so. I developed the same symptoms that I originally had about 1.5 years after getting my first hip done. Turns out that I have a lot of swelling inside the hip joint so just be aware of that so you can try to stay on top of it!
Glad to hear you recovered so well Trav! I'm having my left hip done in two weeks. Had to have back surgery back in August after having my right hip done last year. Trav you should talk to these young players about how important it is to stretch. Maybe talk about how important it is to get things checked out. I wouldn't have needed back surgery if i had paid attention to what my body was telling me.
Good luck bro!
I have found that if you have a great doc, and you tell them your concerns, they can treat them. However, this is with the understanding that you inform them of every ache and pain, and you tell them exactly where you believe your issues are coming from. One size does not fit everyone, true in medicine. Thanks, Trav!
Hope this can help!
Thank you for sharing this experience, this information is very helpful to anyone who would require something like this done. It would definitely put my mind at ease. Good luck in fort
Thanks denis and if you get the surgery, I hope this helps!
@@trav4oilers I'm 47 and still healthy as an ox but I think it's important to have someone out there that has gone through this, share thier experience so that others can learn from it and make decisions that are best for them.
Healthy as an ox at 47 with no hip issues , but having someone describe the process, ups and downs is such a benefit for those that may be putting the surgery off or concerned about recovery. @@trav4oilers
“There are times when I wish I would have gotten a degree, but the past is history, and tomorrow's a mystery.”
As someone who just got shut down for the year for cam impingement and will need surgery, clutch timing trav
Hope this one helps!
Didnt watch the video but judging by your stats and lack of team and games played im guessing the recovery didnt go well. Hope you get better
lol!
He’s never had the talent or any speed at all. You can’t just learn talent. What makes this even worse is that he puts himself on this crazy pedestal.
I like talking smack to those that act like he does. I have seen guys with amazing talent lose everything because of injuries while at the same time being the most humble.

I was contemplating doing this surgery, as a doctor I went to see said I had the worst X-rays she had ever seen and wanted to use my X-rays for her students. I did not do the surgery as it looks very rough and at my age (45) i think that would be it for my goaltending life. I am currently doing a online program. The guys are on UA-cam. (FAI), (Didn't right the whole name) so far so good, 2 weeks in. Hope you get a team soon TRAV. I enjoy your channel.
Also at this point TRAV, why not start your own FED team? The Vancouver Sheath!
thank you brother for the love :)
TRAV STRENGTH = PRICELESS!!!!!
Continue To Work Hard.
EYES FORWARD TRAV, DON'T LOOK BACK!!!
I had labrum surgery. Helped a ton too. However at the time FAI wasn't a thing and probably could have been avoided if we knew then what we do now in the fitness industry
Lot of chances in that, hope this helps brother :)
I’m 18 and I just got that same surgery in mid December, just waiting to get back into the ice
GOOD luck!
hey trav do you think youll be playing in the fed next year?
prob never in the FED again
So does that padded shoulder base layer actually help????
I think so
When you getting the left side done?
Whenever I can find 6 months to burn ahah
What did the scar tissue in yur hip feel like? Im curious how u knew thats wat it was
My surgeon told me the scar tissue would be there and when I got jamemd up I knew that it was that
Are u ordering rg7?
should arrive anyday now ;)
How much do you weigh now?
I'm 233lbs right now
@@trav4oilerswhat a tank. Yur what like 6ft 6 so in theory you should be able to find a minor pro team sonewhere that would take u
Acupuncture looks painful 😅
its amazing!
How giddy do you get while recording your intro’s when you proclaim to your audience that your a professional hockey goalie? I guess it’s sort of like the old adage of “dress for the job you want.”
The pay cheques I've cashed over the last years would argue otherwise. How many pro games did you play and how much did you make doing it? I'm tryin to help goalies and people out there by sharing my experience but you're blinded by your ego
@@trav4oilers Trav, you’ve cashed checks from teams that were exclusively interested in your social media following. Do hockey players who aren’t good enough to play Division 3 or even Canadian Usport somehow leapfrog those levels then play pro? And your inability to play at that level has been enshrined in the annals of history through your channel.
If you want to talk about egos, I’m not the incredibly average athlete who views himself as elite. But as I’ve said to you in the past, you are a very gifted cinematographer. Maybe time to focus on that…
@@willmar1604real shit bro
@trav4oilers exactly you're living the dream. I'm not good enough for my house league
Buddy, ur shit talking on youtube about somrone that has no impact on ur life.
Get a life loser

If you really go to Russia, then I'm sorry, I won't listen to or watch your podcast and UA-cam channel anymore. You've probably noticed what Russia is doing with Ukraine. Russia is now using channels to improve its image. I would never support this regime in Russia.
it's not a political decision man, it's a choice to keep playing hockey
@@trav4oilers
It's not about that either. I would never go to a country that started the war and what Russia is doing with Ukraine. Simply not to drive there and take a stand or make a statement against this country. But I can only speak about what I would do. Sport isn't everything and you know that very well!
How is he going to compete with Russian goalies? lmao! Also take your Political BS out of here. You have no problem when the USA does the same thing right?
@@randovidupload9422
Thank you for your nice answer. Are you saying that you're not allowed to express your opinion? I don't think I have offended or insulted anyone. Glad you dismissed that as BS.
@@Panther2121 you live in a country that's started lots of wars, Travis just playing hockey man.
