Thank you for this video. I am 12 days out from a total reverse shoulder replacement. I just can’t believe the pain. This device in my shoulder is killing me! Your video is telling me to slow down. This is going to take some time. Thank you.

All surgeons are liying to you. Stem cells can completely heal your ligaments that are torn in your shoulder. The reason they don’t say anything about that is to make money off of you.

Spot-on, relatable and what I needed to hear. Longtime endurance athlete, 64, total shoulder about 2 weeks ago. Aleady climbing the walls, and trying to wrap my head around how long recovery will actually take.

Lifetime fitness is such a benefit in recovery - so long as you don't compare to past performances. I was able to return to triathlon in 11 months. Wasn't competitive but glad to be in the arena. A year from now, you'll be ice climbing outside and thinking back to when you couldn't touch the top of your head. Happy recovery Jim!

12 days out from total reversal. I have broken both of my legs, my arm and multiple ribs in my life and this really raises the pain bar. Had my first physio yesterday which I thought was very light duty but man, did the pain make a real comeback a few hours later. It’s going to take time. Sleeping is not really sleeping, it is something like semi consciousness. Upside is I have probably seen every you tube video that there is and can likely fix anything now.🇨🇦

Had shoulder reconstruction, rotator cuff, bicep and tricep detachment. Cleaning from arthritis. 3 months out and I still hurt. Sometimes worse than pre op. Still I have mobility problems. And my shoulder catches and pops. Still in theropy. Don't take pain pills because of addiction. Sometimes I wish I'd have left well enough alone. Dr said that every thing that was done, it might take a year before the pain goes completely away. Hope yours done great...

Just had a total shoulder replacement...damn the pain.I was driving within 2 weeks but rehab is so slow. They dont even want you actively using your muscles much until 6 weeks.Im at 5 weeks...I can left my arm above my head but not a whole lot more...lol I am at the point now that i can use a heating pad instead of ice. That really helps the evening aches.

As other people have said, trust in the doctors and trust in the process. You know what I've been through over the last year, (ruptured Achilles last November), and there were many times I wanted to push myself more then what they were saying, but I stayed patient and I was recovered and back where I wanted to be right on schedule. As you said, the last thing you want to do is mess it all up, and have to start back at square 1. Keep that in mind, and just take it one day at a time. You WILL be back out there soon, its just not today. Also, take solace in the fact that its getting cold out and who wants to be out in that crap right now anyways :P

I had a total reverse shoulder replacement 4-1/2 weeks ago. PT started about a week after the surgery. The pain is now very manageable. I’m only using the painkillers before bedtime. My ice packs are still my best friends. I’m sitting in the recliner, arm in sling, ice pack on, typing with one hand right now. I started weaning myself off of the sling at 3 weeks. I’m up to alternating two hours in the sling two hours out of the sling. I hope that you all heal well and quickly. I had two severed rotator cuff muscles, a torn labrum, arthritis, cartilage degradation, and my humerus was pushed up above the socket. At least the decision to get the total replacement was an easy one.

Remy...this is such a great video. So a little background...been an avid weightlifter for 8yrs..in 2020 i broke my clavicle riding my 🚲. The shoulder Doc said its a stage 2 break so no surgery..let it heal..thats all. Fast forward now(2024) i was benching(bar) and my shoulder just collapsed and crunched. X-ray said no dislocation or broken bones...MRI said no torn ligament...now its been a month today(April 26th) and i got some mobility but i still cannot lift my arm above my head...though i could do pullups with a band now... I feel my shoulder very stiff when i lift my arm.
My question is do you think by week 6(two more weeks to go) i can finally not feel stiff shoulder pain? Also i can't do surgery because im not covered.

That sounds like a nightmare! So sorry to hear. To be clear, I am not a medical professional. I decided to get surgery as it seemed (to me) to provide the best return to sport with minimal long term setbacks. I also know that without coverage, it would cost a small fortune. Hope you find what is right for you
